Barb, I can't imagine, constant Cape May temperatures...........I know you sometimes get some cooler weather, but cool weather in Fl. is like a warm day in NJ, or Pa..........People say "oh I love the change of seasons"..............yea, if we could take "winter" out of the mix......................Snow is nice, when its falling, and such fun being the "first one".......to make your footprints in it............................it stops right there..............then it gets dirty, slushy, non-driveable, and "oh" how bout when it turns to "ice", and you fall on your ass......................I would love to know that each day there is going to be warmth, and sun (except when it rains), but even then its "warm rain"........

Artic blast next week is the words the weatherman is using.............can't wait.........Yell

Barb I agee I love the Florida winters. I'm trying to get more sun shine for the health benefits, and Florida is the best place in the world for that.

duckyb1 I so remember the muddy wet snow. I don't miss it al all, nor the long drives to work because of the snow and ice.

I hear ya Rosemary.  I can't stop coughing but I'm not gonna go to the dr.  So many are sick right now I'd pick up something else.

Mary, Virgil is a Toy Fox Terrier.  Weighs about 7 lbs.

Happy New Year to all.  We ordered Chinese Food and will celebrate the New Year with a bottle of bubbly.  Knock myself out and maybe stop coughing for a bit.

I think this is the first time in a bazillion years that I haven't been sick over Winter Break. I have tons of sick leave accrued and I always get sick on weekends and holidays.

I hope everyone who is sick feels better soon.

    Happy New Year everyone!

    Happy New Year!

You know you are getting old when your young children want to stay up later than you on New Years...

It is 3 am. and they have finally gone to sleep.  Should have cut off the soda hours ago.

Happy 2012 everyone! Last night I de-decorated the tree. well...almost. Still have the lights to take off. I was planning to walk next door to the golf course last night and watch the concert at the yacht club across the cove. They had the Isley Brothers and the winner of NBC's sing-off the Pentatonix. Well, the sea fog rolled in and I could not even see six feet in front of myself so I nixed that idea and de-decorated.

So I woke up expecting fog and voila...gone! Sunshine! So today will be a pool day after I finish with the tree. Making split pea soup with the Honey Baked ham bone. Yum!

    Hi Everybody!

Wanted to wish you all a very wonderful 2012.

I've got the house cleaned and lasagna made for when Tim gets home.  He'll be so happy I made dinner!  I also walked the dogs down in the fields, which they enjoyed tremendously.  They wore me out!

    Sending hugs to all,

    Bren

    Happy New Year!!!

I managed to stay awake until midnight too.  Had too ... my dog is scared of booming noises and somebody was shooting off fireworks.

Very windy and getting much colder here ... looks like 2012 is blowing in and shaking things up.

I stayed up to see the New Year in. We went out for dinner. I had a yummy surf and turf with marinated flank steak and and a lobster claw and "lobster salad" a lightly dressed cabbage carrot and lobster salad. It was different but very good.

We came home and I took a nap. We had ice wine at midnight and now we are sitting around coughing. I am on the mend but still a little sick.

I just talked to my godmother in Connecticut. Life is good.

There is a new thread on red wine as a natural AI. Someone thinks grape juice is just as good. Not I.

WR, what side of town are you on? I'm on the east side and some yahoo was shooting off his gun! At 11 pm! And then at MN, the fireworks started and my cats freaked. They sounded like big mortar shell fireworks with that deep WHOOMP that rattles the windows. Never really did get back to deep sleep after that, so today was a very LONG day at work. Drove home tonight with little ice pellets bouncing off the windshield. Bah, humbug!

I'm SW of Indy ... they didn't keep it up too long here and must have already used up the loudest ones on the 4th of July.  Can't imagine some idiot shooting a gun ... yeesh ... stupid people!

We were dogsitting my brother's dog last night, and she was terrified of the fireworks. We finally allowed her to sleep on our bed so we could get some sleep. She's not normally allowed on the bed because she's one of those dogs that snarls if you touch them when they're sleeping. My husband can sleep through anything, so we let her be on his side of the bed. :)

    Kira

You can talk with your PCP ( personal care provider) is what our docs are called in Ma now - about taking an antidepressant.  As long as you're not on tamoxifen - you have a wide choice available. If on tamoxifen - it's much more limited.

Feel sad when oncologists don't know, or don't realize, or whatever we want to call it, that removing estrogen from our bodies is OBVIOUSLY going to effect all the other hormones, an often is a precurser to depression....a very, VERY "natural" part of menopause - but when taking tamoxifen or an aromatase inhibitor ( Arimidex, Femara, Aromasin, or their generics) WHOMP it's a HUGE wallop for our bodies to get used to - or NOT, as is the case for so many women taking one of these life saving medicines.

Paradox - I am so grateful to have this medication available, and some of the SE's are difficult, very difficult.  Good luck finding what works for you - most important, it is NOT your "fault" nor is it "your imagination"- how you are feeling ( or NOT feeling, even worse) is REAL.

Hope we're all here and healthy to celebrate another year ;-)  Happy New Year all.

Sun, are you serious?  Your family docs are called "personal care providers"?  When did Primary Care Physician get turned into that?

    Happy 2012, everyone!

I call my family doctor Ashlie! Love that lady.

WR - Somebody at work told me what I heard must have been firecrackers instead of a gun, but as a gun owner, I don't think they sound anything alike. Plus a bunch of firecrackers sound very erratic, nothing like the steady pop pop pop of someone pulling the trigger as fast as they can. This idiot shoots off his gun on the 4th of July and for New Year's, and has done for several years now. I called the police the first few times he did it (I'm assuming it's a guy, because I'd like to think a woman wouldn't be dumb like that), but they never found anything, so I don't bother now. I just growl with frustration and roll over.
