Thinking Out Loud.....

Well, one grandson landed safely...................still waiting for the news that the "driver grandson" made it home ok, with his Zoey doggie..................................He has 6 more hours to go....................will not rest till I hear from him.
I do have a great family Makratz....................like all families we have our moments.............there are 6 of them, plus spouses, so everyone is not always going to be "the brady bunch", but what is important is, when they need each other.........................they are right there, regardless of who has a different opinion...........i guess that is what makes the world go round..............
The other day, my son stopped to pick something up.....after talking to him, (said he was at lunch), and would call me back............instead he stopped, and he is a big guy, not fat, just big in size, and he was carrying this little brown bag.........................he said "here MOm, I brought you some soup from the restaurant.............it was just frigging soup, but it may as well have been a million dollars..................I was so touched, just that he thought about me..................of course I told him that, and he said "Mom I can bring it to you everyday...................this is the son that took me to Rads 3 days a week, and never left my side through the whole "cancer thing".............I don't know if our kids realize that it isn't the "big" things that matter........................ its just the small "Hey Mom, I thought about you today" things that thrill us as mothers..........................he is my oldest.
So I do have a great family...........some more attentive then others, but always there when needed.......................life is good....................still miss my 2 Chicago grandsons.............

Hope the 6 hrs pass fast so you can rest easy when your grandson arrives home safely.

Ducky, I have 5 siblings, all married all with kids. Reminds me of your family. This CHristmas there were 37 of us at my Moms! All Italians so it was LOUD!
Your son is awesome! I can't wait for my sons to bring me soup...or anything. Now they bring me thier hungry friends, dirty laundry, bills......you know, you've been there!
Hope the 6 and 18 hours pass quickly too!

ducky~I know what you mean, Rebekah is our only child and when she hugged me at the airport in Bermuda when we had to leave, I started crying, couldn't help myself. Her and Nick are in St. Thomas now, he is taking her there for her birthday which is tomorrow, my baby will be 36.

Happy Birthday Rebekkah! I took my Dh there for his 40th. We loved it!

He is back home in Chicago, safe and sound...................he got their about 7:30 tonight.........he said the last 1 1/2 hours he was getting very tired, but made it.................what a weight off my shoulders.........who said when you own grow up, your worries stop.............................now I have great grandaughters, and it does not change.................once a monther , grandmother, great-grandmother, you still worry................
When my kids were little they would say to me "Mommy, who is your favorite.................I would say "the one who is away till they come home, and the one who is sick, till they get better".................then they would say ................oh Mom that is always your answer............................the grandchildren say to me (I have 18).................'"Hey Nan, where in the 18 am I........." am I your favorite".........I give them the same line.............
My son with the soup..............like I said..........he could not have given me a nicer surprise.......it was the thought that counted..........not the fact that it was "just soup"...........to me it was "you thought of me".......................little or grown............they are always your "babies"..........

Ha ha - don't worry. It's not comfortable to walk in this thing, so I won't be running around too much. 3 more weeks of this and then I get an air cast or an ankle brace for another 6 wks. Boo - I was hoping it wouldn't take that long. Surgeon keeps changing the story.
Thanks for listening to me whine ((((((((TOL)))))))) ♥

Happy Birthday Rebekah.
I just watched Marley & Me hoping to get some laughs....i didn't know the dog was gonna die at the end of the movie. So sorry I watched it. Feel so sad.
Boards were also very sad today.
-
Thanks for sharing the pics. So sweet. Happy Birthday to your DD!
Sorry you are sad from the movie, Sheila. I haven't watched too many movies in a while. Nothing interests me. I don't like tear jerkers anymore - real life is sad enough, thanks, I don't need a movie to make me sad. And I can't seem to stay awake through an entire movie anymore. I practically can't make it through a 30 min sitcom. Tried to watch Cowboys and Aliens - fell asleep several times. Not sure I missed much. Woke up in time for the end.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Good Morning ladies................speaking of Marley and Me, I remember when my daughter went to see that movie........now this daughter is 42, and I said "thanks for asking me to go"..........she said "Mom you would not have wanted to see that movied"........................I thought, yea, and you didn't feel like asking, of course getting my ass in a knot.
At the time I had an adorable "Boston Terrier", and he was 14..........not in great health, but I could not make myself put him down...........I did not want to play God, although I knew he was suffering......nothing certain from the Vet, but on the visit before I made the decision, he said "looking at his "paperwork", you would say "this is a health;y dog"........looking at the dog, you would say "this is a sick dog", " you might want to consider putting him down......................I had rescued him from a woman who left him at the Vet's, and never picked him up....I was familiar with the "dogs background", since 2 of my daughters owned Bostons from the same "line"...........well eventually after much soul searching I did put him down........he was deaf, blind, glaucoma, and had dementia............but my "buddy"
I guess I waited, each day , hoping the next day would be the day he would decide on his own "today is the day I leave and go to heaven"..I remember thinking to myself each day "Mark" (his name), please don't make me have to decide.....please don't make me play God..................well it never happened, and I had to do the decision making.......
Thus the story.........when I finally saw Marley and Me (video), I realized why my daughter did not want me to see the movie..............especially when the statement was made "Marley please don't make me have to make the decision"........................I understood..........so as funny as the movie was........then ending was sad....................
Was also told "Mom we don't want you to watch Bucket List...............I'm not sure if they are being considerate, or don't feel like dragging my sorry ass around...............hahahahahaha.
