Anne, WOW! You look awesome!
-
Ann, your picture made me smile. You look beautiful. I thought your fashion statement was elegant and appropriate for any event.
-
Anne -- If you've got it, flaunt it -- and you've definitely got it!!!
-
Anne - you look great!!! Brave woman!!
I still hate this hotel - had dinner here - food was nice but service was crap - waited more than 10 mins for a glass of wine and the bar had no customers - hopeless when doing the bill too. I do not like eating at 9:30 at night!!!!!!
Sorry girls - you actually have real problems like storm damage.
Sue

Wow, Anne. Great pic! What a fun idea and excellent fundraiser.
-
Great picture, Anne.
-
WOW! Very nice!
-
Wow, Anne! You're rockin' the birthday suit!!!
I hadn't heard of HealthLinks before, but it looks like a really great organization with some very cool fundraisers! Congrats on being a cover girl !!
-
Anne, I just wanted to say I watched the video from healthlinks and thought..wow! What a wonderful place to go. And, no, I wouldn't pose in the "buff"...have more weight to lose. It would take years to tone my poor body.
I also wanted to say I loved the picture from NOTL of all of you. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think you're all beautiful. One thing I don't like is making remarks about someone's looks. Otherwise, I do not like to make "fun" of someone's looks. We are all unique and God only knows my face is not beautiful.
I'm a casual gal in most cases. I no longer wear heels unless there's a real need to. I did that yeas ago...dressed up, wore heels and jewelry when seeing the doctor. My friends made fun of me. After cancer comfort means a lot to me. I like stretchy tee type tops because of my LE. And now that I have some neuropathy in my feet....well you know. The last time I wore "hooker heels" was at my middle DD's wedding. I thought I was going to break my neck. My feet were absolutely killing me! Guess what. I gave my hooker heels to someone else. Never again will I wear a heel that must have been at least four inches high if not more. Did that when I worked (outside the home)...no, no, no more.
Look at our AlaskaDeb. She was genuine. She wasn't skinny...she was just who she was. I can't think of one person who did not like Deb. Her passing was a big blow to all of us. She was a WONDERFUL mom and wife.
This reveals my age...LOL

Beauty is Only Skin Deep
So in love, sad as could be
'Cause a pretty face got the best of me.
Suddenly, you came into my life
And gave it meaning and pure delight.
Now, good looks, I've learned to do without.
'Cause now I know it's love that really counts.'Cause I know that...
(Beauty's only skin deep, yeah, yeah, yeah.)
I know that...
Beauty's only skin deep, yes indeed. Now you speak your words warm and sincere.
And let's me know that your love is near.
A pretty face you may not possess
But what I like about you is your tenderness.
A pretty face maybe some guys taste
But I'll take lovin' in it's place.'Cause I know that...
(Beauty's only skin deep, yeah, yeah, yeah.)
And you know that...
Beauty's only skin deep, oh baby, oh yeah.
(Oh yeah, Oh yeah)(Beauty's only skin deep, yeah, yeah, yeah.)
Ooo
(Beauty's only skin deep, oh yeah.)
Yes it is.My friends ask, what do I see in you
But it goes deeper than the eye can view.
You have a pleasin' personality
And that's an ever lovin' rare quality.
Now show me a girl, a girl that's fine
And I'll choose the one with true lovin' every time.I know that...
(Beauty's only skin deep, yeah, yeah, yeah)
And I believe that...
Beau- know that beauty's only skin deep.So if you're lookin' for a lover. (Oh yeah)
Don't judge a book by it's cover. (Oh yeah)
She may be fine on the outside (Oh yeah)
But so untrue on the inside. (Oh yeah)
Ooo -
Love that song, Shirley! I so agree with everything you said!
-
Verrrry nice, Ann - Miss March.
(((Sunflowers))) glad you are safe and sound. There was quite a lot of foliage debris in my neighbourhood this morning, strangely enough.
I happen to be a fashion aficionado -or aficionada - and I know beauty, style, substance and self assuredness (the NOTL pictures) and kitsch (certain flickery colourful posts) when I see them. Also, a 62 year old woman in uber tight jeans? NOT good taste.
-
Blue, I did want to say one thing to you. I read where you "hate" some women and you had the right to hate them for what they did to you. I still do not understand what "they" did to you. The problem with "hate" (and I don't hate you or anyone else on this board) is it's a heavy burden you're carrying on your shoulders. You can remain a "victim" or you can choose to shake it off. There were some heated discussions but I can guarantee you that no one did anything TO you. Good friendships have been damaged because of the lingering feelings of not letting go. I do believe I know to whom you are referring.
And as far as the review site, I can testify to the fact that I didn't post a bunch of comments or negative reviews on the review site. And neither did "the women" I think you ladies think did. I believe all of this started (or most of it) on the alternative/holistic threads.
Yep, you might say we have a "rival site". When speaking of politics it's best we stay away from here and post where we feel safe. You feel safe posting on this thread. Oh, and I'm not here to butt in...just some observations I'm seeing. And besides, I do believe we were told to post our views elsewhere.
I'm not posting to stir things up. When reading things here and some of the remarks made I feel the need to EVENTUALLY defend my friends who I'm assuming (yes I know what that means) you are speaking about.
Hope y'all have a good evening. It's not Friday...
...but Monday. If you choose to delete this post I'm fine with it.Have a good evening.

Wow Ann, fantastic!
-
Anne you rock. Shirley, good to 'see' you.
-
You know, I support the right of any woman, any age, to wear skin-tight jeans if she wants to!
And I support my right NOT to wear them now that I'm nearly 59 and nearly 190 pounds! Except out in the woods last week, when my sweetie said, "Are those new jeans? You look really good in them!" -- and he was standing behind me at the time!

I was really touched by River_Rat's story of "Dress Up Donna" a few pages back -- the retired lawyer who always dressed up.... I'm just always happy to be in a group that's accepting of individual choices... even the choice to fit in with the group or event... or not!
-
Oh, boy, I didn't mean to stir up a discussion. I was referring to.... forget it. Too tired and stressed. I support every person's right to de-stress just about now - how 'bout that?
-
Shirley, I didn't notice your name bandied about anywhere. My name and this thread was brought up in literally every review on the review site. All I did was start a thread and I'm public enemy #1. Yes it's a strong emotion and it is liberating to say it because it's like vomiting the poison out. And please don't act so innocent because you have done me harm as well. I don't hate you, but I don't like some of the things said about me elsewhere. I'm not here to be the brunt of jokes, where a whole thread is dedicated to the colour "blue", or being accused of things I didn't do.
I'm still trying to figure out what I did? And BTW, I'm not a victim. every woman that posts on this thread has become the victim of jokes, name calling, and put downs. So please, I thank you for the kind comments, but don't insult my intelligence.
-
As far as the Alternative ladies go, I know some were the main instigators, but I also know that some were the recipients of pm's the likes of which RP received and posted for all to see. Me and this thread were the subject of said pm's. I'm not saying you sent any but the names of the senders were very familiar to me.
-
Shirley,
I realize that a lot of "stuff" happened with you and some of the women on this site before I was around, but after venturing out into your "rival site," I'm astounded that you'd come here and pretend to be an honest, caring, and innocent friend. You say you guarantee nobody "did anything" to BlueDahlia - how on earth could you be so presumptious to know that? From the games I've seen played around here, and especially with regard to the review site and with your "rival site (hardly!)," I can see quite clearly the efforts put forth to cause trouble.
I'm not sure which "good friendships" you're referring to that were damaged, but where I come from, good friends are kind, honest, and caring. Friendships are damaged by dishonesty, selfishness, ignorance, and cruelty. It's just plain bizarre to me that you'd drag this up here, now. Perhaps a PM would have been more appropriate if you really had good intentions. Bizarre. Just bizarre.

Anne - you are a brave and beautiful woman.
HL - sending you a hug and hoping you're feeling a bit better every day.
Blue - hope your arm is feeling better.
-
This farkling arm is not cooperating, even with meds. Change of season maybe?
-
Ann, you obviously set a fashion trend in your jeans. As Tim Gumm would say, you "ma(de) it work!"
-
Aw, shucks, Athena!!! ♥♥♥
(and I do still watch Project Runway, hoping to still love it, even though I think it used to be better!)
-
I gained all my weight on my butt, so I don't think I could make it work right now!
-
Wonder when we'll hear from DuckyB? Fingers crossed...
-
Anne - Fabulous, fabulous - your are a Boulder Beauty and your Spirit GLOWS in that picture. Inspiring.
Shirley/Mimi - I echo what thenewme said. I too once "visited" your website, and was stunned by the amount of time, energy spent attacking and especially making fun of women who often post on this thread ( voice of reason, rightyheidi, noblahma, - eveybody knows they also post here and what names they use here) - so why continue to try to cause trouble. Why bother? I wouldn't blame the Alt/Holistic women as much as those that try to egg them on - and keep posting here at BCO. Sad, really.
Seems time to go back to using the ignore button.
-
Good evening ladies!
Sunflowers ... happy to see you posted and that you have power and minimal damage. Hoping that ducky will find her vacation home intact also.
Anne got the last word on fashion ... less is more

Sue ... enjoy reading of your travels. Hope the good parts make up for the 'not as expected' times.
Waving at Libby and hoping she's feeling well enough to peek in at us soon.
-
So, you ladies are saying that you never made silly remarks about the women on the "rival site"? Ya know, it's sort of like a "rival sorority". Yeah, I may have said a few things, but you gals do not need to act innocent either. We all "originated" on BCO. Our political views in most cases are extremely different, thus the "rival site" because that's what you wanted.
What I'm saying is NO ONE is innocent here.
Blue, what were you accused of doing? I remember you suggested something about computer stuff...I am not computer savvy. And, what harm did I do to you? I would like to know and if you don't want to post it here just PM me. You've done that before. If I did you harm I want to know what it is/was so if I feel that I need to apologize, I will.
thenewme, many games have been played by both "sets" of women. The "rival site" has been announced here and on the review site. I hated that review site. Perhaps it was good therapy because one could say whatever they wanted and name names that they had no proof of saying or doing to people here or make disparaging comments about BCO on the "review" site. It all became a game of let's who can outdo the other. And, thenewme, have you ever had a "fight" with a good friend and then make up.
Yep, the gals on the "other site" have been made brunt of jokes as well. And have been accused of crap they never did.
I'll go back to my little corner.
I like my jeans to fit...hate baggy jeans.
-
Sunflowers- Yes it is amazing how the people you mention have such a holier than thou attitude when coming here, and then spew such venom over on "their" site. I think I have most of them on ignore already, and I, too, know who they are in both places.

Who tried to egg on the women on the alb/holistic thread?
Yes, it's really sad that none of you can admit your involvement in what has developed on this website. You can't admit that you also made comments about the very people you just named and more.
I didn't come here to cause trouble. That's just what you want to see. Open your eyes.
If you cannot acknowledge that you created some of the drama/hard feelings, then you obviously you want to remain the victims and give your power to us who are the meanies.
I really came here to try to......never mind.
