Anne we were posting at the same time.  I saw that about the PD.  The brain is plastic so exercise makes a lot of sense in that it creates new paths for the neurotransmitters.

Sunflowers, I have tried it but since the pain seems to be connected to the placement of my battery and the pain is so inconsistent, it would not benefit me much.  I think I need new setttings.

Otter....how wonderful you are living such a stress free life. Travel, fish, and kick back, that's what I wanted to do when I retired in May. I am sooo busy with "stuff' I don't know how I did it when I worked. At least next March we are going to 'Sun City Grand' for the whole month. GOD willing. Still looking over that shoulder.

This is such a nice thread. Have never been on here but hope to sneak in here once in a while. It's good to see everyone doing so well after cancer.

Today we went to Glamis Castle - absolutely lovely - spent a small fortune in the gift shop. They had some lovely cross stitch kits for a needle case, pin cushion and scissor keeper, so I bought them for me to do when we get home they will be well used when complete.

 The men are playing St Andrews today - not the old course unfortunately but the new one - they can still say they played there.

We will actually go there tomorrow for a cocktail party or prize giving thing. The tour finishes after tomorrow - can't wait to be on our own at last - then we have another week in Scotland - it is really beautiful - different from Ireland but lovely scenery too.

Mr. Tim just left for Minnesota.  Sure is quiet when he leaves.  I'm thinking of having someone create a professional website for my business.  I tried to do it myself last year and wasn't very successful.  I have a domain name that I can't remember or even how to access it.  Time to call in someone who knows what they're doing.  Maybe it will increase my business.  It's been so slow lately, and I am so stressed out because of it.

Finding a job in this area is out of the question with 24% unemployment and two more huge businesses set to close in the next month.  I don't know how the 99'ers are getting by.  This is such a depressed area.

Susie -- Thanks for updating us on your fabulous holiday.  What sort of weather have you been having?  The year we lived in the UK, we had 3 weeks of summer - in May!  Hope it's much warmer for you! 

So great to hear HL is recuping nicely from her surgery and I'm sure she'll be back with us soon.

Hi Enjoyful - No, we go to Loch Ness after 2 nights in Edinburgh. I'm definitely going out to look for her

God are there some strange people on this planet - there's this woman on the bus who is SO weird. We picked up our laundry this morning and I have a sock missing - no big deal, but I thought I would ask the others to keep a look out when they unpacked their stuff, just in case it had been left in a machine when the next load was done. When I mentioned it to her she freaked out - why would my washing be in hers, her blacks were only put in today etc etc - what a freakshow. Her partner looks almost young enough to be her son and she is a few sandwiches short of a picnic according to DH. You can see why I can't wait for this to be over. However, we have made some great friends too.

The weather has been mixed, not too cold though. I still haven't had to pull out the parka yet. Bit chilly today, but my hot flushes keep me warm most of the time. My Aussie winter gear suits the place perfectly as I suspected.

85, sunny and low humidity today. Perfect. It was 52 early this morning. And - I get to spend the afternoon meeting with my onc. Oh, well. At least his office is close to the Farmers' Mkt., so can pick up more tomatoes. They'll be gone pretty soon and it'll be back to Romas until next summer.

Blue - so hope you get some relief for your shoulder. Shoulders are a bitch and really affect everything you try to do. I need to hang a new shower curtain and am going to have to ask for help. I detest asking for help!

Ann and Susie. I weigh the same thing you do - guess I'm the twins' older sister. I weighed 135 pounds three years ago when I started on this delightful journey. What's fair about that?

Alpal, I know what you mean.  I hate asking for help too, consequently lots doesn't get done.  Men just don't see what needs to get done without step by step instructions.  On a happy note, my pooches just finished licking my face, shoulder and arms.  That always makes me feel better.  They know exactly what to do.

Alison - I've actually lost weight since this whole thing started. Don't know how tall AnnNYC is though. I used to be 5' 9" but have shrunk.

Just found a great place to stay when we get back to London - near our son. I had THE most horrid dream last night - he was killed in a car accident - that has made me more determined to get as much time with him and the baby before we go home in spite of the DIL from hell.

As you can see I'm making the most of this internet access as I can seeing it cost so bloody much.

Susie - I "used" to be 5'9" also. I was really skinny at 135, so the first 15 pounds were good. The rest of them are "excess baggage".

I used to be 5'10" but am now 5'9", thanks to chemo and Arimidex.  Have I mentioned how much I hate Arimidex?

susie -- Your dream was (IMO) only expressing a fear that you harbour but never express aloud.  I'm not a dream expert, but have found that when a concern has come to the forefront in my life, I tend to have a dream about it that shows the worst-case scenario.  Sort of a safety valve, I think!

I lost 22lbs during chemo but have put a little back on since my taste for chocloate returned. Also not really doing much exercise but plan to get back into it when we get home.

 DD said she only lowered my bike seat a little, now she confesses it was a lot. I thought they stopped telling lies when they grew up.

thenewme - it's ok right around me, seriously, it's as if a Guardian Angel jsut watched over my little town.  Lots of trees down, farmers took a hit with some crops, but nothing, NOTHING, like what's happening in other parts of MA, and esp. VT.  FEMA is on it's way with Mega supplies for VT.  They were "prepositioned" so those towns, and there are hundreds of them, with no food, water, completely cut off, NO ROADS - are geting supplies quickly!

Once, again, Thank YOU, President Obama - who ever says "over hyped" doesn't know about this part of the country yet. Obama's team, administration, and the way they coordinated with State officials has made a tremendous difference for this part of the country.

SusieQ, so glad you are having a great trip. E, I knew you hated Arimidex. I think you look fine, though. I originally lost 25 lbs with my dx but now 15 months later I gained back 15. Want to keep it there and not gain any more, though. Hard to do since I love to eat and drink. Did I mention I LOVE icewine?
