Hi Nancy .. my sis and I celebrated one of my B-days at Laguna Beach one year and attended the Sawdust Festival.  It was fun, but not the same as when I had been there 20 years before that.  It's become a little too touristy now.

Nancy - waaaay back in 1979 we lived in Irvine for a year - we used to go to Laguna Beach every Sunday for brunch - it was a sleepy little town then and so much fun - when I went back in I think 85 for a wedding and a short visit things had changed so much - it was very sad so I am glad I have my memories and some really bad photos (I really hate everything to do with cameras including having my picture taken).

H-L, I'm laughing at the "sailboat porn" too.  I never thought about it that way, but Mr. otter was on what were probably those same sailboat porn websites last night and earlier today.  He was drooling all over his laptop keyboard.  I guess I need to look at that stack of magazines he keeps underneath his recliner.

I wish I were going to NOTL, but... maybe next time. <sigh>

I think supper is going to be grilled chicken breasts with leftover potato salad and whatever frozen vegetable my assistant is willing to thaw out.  I ate the rest of the good ice cream (Blue Bell Pecan Pralines & Cream) last night, after learning that one of my chemo sisters is having a biopsy next week for possible mets.

Hi Girls - I'm back from the markets - got fish, bananas, cherry tomatoes, choc fudge and a danish. It was absolutely packed and a lovely morning. I came home wanting chickens for my back yard. There was a stall there called "Girls for the Garden' - they sell chook pens, feed etc. for people who live in the city. Well, they had 2 of the fattest white chickens I've ever seen - absolutely beautiful. They were some English breed - wish I could remember the name.

Name changing won't work seeing we're being stalked. I'm over it - why lower ourselves to their level.

I went to the dairy near by that sells their milk right there I either buy their milk or organic and I was excited to see cows outside wandering around eating grass. No wonder their milk tastes better. The cows in the other nearby daires are in their nasty little stalls all the time. Poor babies.

The milk is pasteurized. You can get unhomogenized milk there. I buy skim milk so when I buy the unhomogenized it is a big treat. I skim off the top for my coffee. It is soooo good.

I grew up in Wisconsin, lived for 2 years in Boston, and became a Mets fan when I moved to NYC... so the Red Sox beating the Yankees is fine with me!  But I was thrilled when the Mets beat the Red Sox in 1986!!!

YEAH, ritaz - we get that on tv here in MA.  I confess to starting to love them when they won the Series, I was still living in DC, a neighbor was from Boston, we watched at her house, and had SUCH fun clinking SPOONS with the folks in the bull pen ;-))))  They were wonderfully "shaggy" then, and just SUCH spirit.

But I REALLY feel in love, I mean LOVE, when I'd see these Big Burly guys talking to little kids at Dana Farber - no cameras, just the few kids, and somehow, seeing kids in treatment for cancer makes me cry anyhow, but the SMILES, when they saw a player.  Full blown sobs.  They have a special day, at away games for them too!!!!!  It's been gong on for years, a very special relationship. And they rasie so much money, do so much good, I LOVE it when they win on the field too

The Phillies picked up Halladay from the Jays, correct? 

I need a new team to root for.  My hometown team won a game recently, but it was against a local girls' softball team so I'm not sure it counts.

Sue, I love the name of your team. Tell DH to get over it.

Sue, being in a sort-of "military family" ( 2 nephews & 1 niece serving currently, 1 nephew died in service, another served as first on the ground after 9/11;not to mention all those who've "done their hitch") puts my bc right where it belonged - not the most important thing in my world.  One nephew goes back to the sandbox in autumn.  I hate this war, but I love (most of) the warriors. I don't want to talk politics either.
