Yup, it's me ;)  I followed Suepen's idea - and changed.  She said in a pm, that the review site had gone really wild, figured tho I won't go there anymore, that my screen name must have been up too, SO, it's me, will keep changing it, if need to!

Won't go to that site, or the Hate Site - too many fun things to do.  AneNYC sent me the info, my mistake in trying it b4, was I didn't HIGHLIGHT the thing I want to hyperlink, so the screen didn't open.

Did I ever mention, when I worked on Capitol Hill, in the late 1980's if I just WALKED by a computer, it crashed.....my first putah was an AppleSE20.  AND, when that "portable" ( only a laugh to anyone who saw a 1988 AppleSE20) crashed, and I "upgraded" to a 180 mg, I kept the 20mg hard drive.  I now use it as a door stop.  My friends at the Apple Store always get a smile, if I bring it in to show it to the "techies" who are younger than my hard drive.  It weighs 2 1/2 lbs!  Almost as much as my Laptop Powerbook... being old is FUN!

Good Idea!  Although I don't post much over there, I like to get my laughs.  Those women are nuts!  But I already knew that!

Now one has to be careful with Oleanders.  They are poisonous.

Oleander.  Welcome to our group of wonderful women. I'm gonna have to figure out how to put up an avatar.  Advice welcome.

Sunflowers, if you scroll down to the "Comments and Suggestions" forum at the bottom of the master list, you'll see a pinned thread about posting avatars.  Timtam explained how to do it awhile back.  (I did it so long ago that I'm sure I would have trouble figuring it out now.)

As much as I have been furious at seeing sisters I care about slandered and mocked elsewhere, I have had tears running down my cheeks laughing at the absurdities going on at that site. To think that some people take it so seriously that they feel the need to say they are authentic, or being hacked - I mean, really, does any sane person want to take responsibility and ownership for the sort of tripe and lies they spew? Complaining of hacking and identity theft? Incredible.

Blue, you are too funny with your name change. ((((CS and Susie)))) - You are still, respectively, a goddess and Susie to me, though. :)

    Alpal, missing you here.

Jealous in a nice way of Anne - what an amazing trip.

None of my pictures are the "proper file image" -even the beautiful vase of sunflowers in a blue vase Bren one posted....weellllllll, I'll keep looking for a sunflower.

Thanks Athena, I think the women doing it are sad.  As 3mons would say, they all need a good metta practice.  Really - why bother?  what could they possibly get out of it, gain from it?  It's becoming a public demonstration of the behavior of Hate Site.  Bleah.....

I'm out of breath just thinking of Anne's trip!  Can't wait to see her pictures.

Oleander is being studied as a potential cancer cure I hear. It's great that we can change our names  and try out different ones. This could be fun.

Sunflowers, is your file a jpeg (jpg)?  That type works for sure, as long as it isn't too large.  I don't remember the maximum file size for an avatar on BCO.  I'll see what I can find on that.

hillck, very funny.  I know enough biological trivia to recognize an amazing number of those statements as TRUE.  Can't vouch for them all, though.  (Never knew that about pigs, although I do know some interesting facts about the relevant pig anatomy.)  Athena, did you see that one about lions???

That's enough for now.  The (fake) blueberry coffee cake is almost ready.  I can hear Mr. otter's tummy grumbling all the way across the length of the sofa.  I'm saving the abalone for later.  :)

thanks otter, going to check file type - will "convert" t jpg if not.  thanks.

Hillck- the one about praying mantis isn't true - she waits til it's over and THEN eats the entire body! Starting at the head, and leaves just the outside wings...I've got pictures ;)  takes hours....

ALSO have pics of cicadas hatching.....and praying mantis coming out of their cocoon.  That's my favorite - they are so, so, so tiny, less than 1/4 inch long, almost translucent yellow....

Otter, yes I have heard. Lions must mate many times in order for the female to become inpregnated. Creating perfection is a time consuming job! InnocentTongue out

Libby ... yeah for new computer.  You are smarter than me.  We went to all the trouble to get the old one restored and everything reloaded ... and only then decided that we really needed a new computer anyway.  I was nervous about having to go to Windows 7 but no problems whatsoever.

hillck ... hope your funk goes away!  LOL ... or maybe OMG is more appropriate for some of that list.

Not going to the crazy place ... it's just repetitive and boring now IMO.

    hillck,

I found several on a Moonflower vine I had next to a house I lived in years ago.  I gave them to friends, so they could have Praying Mantis too.  I LOVE watching them, they really are amazing creatures.  I just happened to be stitting on the front steps of my house, and had put one of the little cocoon's  in a bush nest to the steps.  Notice this funny little "string" coming out of the cocoon - and it was the little babies, making a chain of their bodies, to reach the nearest little branch - it reminded me a bit of that funny part of a circus.  Clowns coming out a a car.  I was in awe of how many there were int hat little cocoon.  AND, the cocoon looks the same after they've all hatched, as it does before.

You CAN buy Praying Mantis cocoons at many garden centers.  My pictures are all old ones, I have the pictures, negatives, but no idea how to post online.  HECK, I can't even (yet) get an avatar up.  Not very techy...

Joy, I read about Oleanders and breast cancer.  I have 4 full grown plants that flower beautifully.  They are in pots because they have to be brought in, in the winter.  I have yellow. white, red and apricot.  I used to have 12 of them but gave some away.  Too much for me to handle.

Blue .. love the oleanders, but they are dangerous if you have animals around that eat them.  We had a horse once that got into some.  It was awful.

Saw a note on FB that Barbara was at the Dali museum with a bunch of Florida friends.  Hope she took a bunch of pics.

We've been busy cleaning up the yard today .. it looks so much better.

    hugs to all,

    Bren

So we took Lilah to get groomed this morning.  What's the first thing she does.  Rubs her face in the dirt under Ray's watch while I'm grocery shopping.  She smells and needs a bath!  Men!

Ducky - if I have logged on to this site from another computer, then I have to put in my log in information again on this one. I think the same thing would happen if I cleared all the cookies on the computer because all the saved passwords, etc. would disappear. Another possibility is that you accidentally logged out last time you used the site . . . or  how many people are in your house and might use the computer and change things?!

Ducky .. I just say logged in all the time.  Luckily no one else uses my computer.

Hope everyone is having a good afternoon!

I've been to the Dali museum.. loved it.  OT.. i heard this tinkling music and followed it into a back room where a guy with the biggest ears I ever saw was tuning a harpsichord.. talked with him for quite a while.

We're having leftover spaghetti for dinner and fresh salad and garlic bread.  Yay for Mr. Tim being home .. we have dinners just like regular people!
