Why not plunk a couple of rose bushes in your beautiful back yard? They really don't take much care.

My only problem with them was black spot which is easily solved. They don't need much water either. The black spot is because it rains every day in summer.

They are easy to grow, but a pain to take care of for me..much more fun to see everyone else's.

my next door neighor's I can see when I get the mail..

we have the opposite problem here as we get no rain spring to fall...

My roses don't fair too well in the summer with no rain and all the heat we have been having.  I do have two that as long as I keep the dead blooms pruned off they keep blooming like crazy no matter what the weather is doing.

Lisa - I love this pink/peach/orange one.  Do you know what it is called?

Oh Lisa, how pretty and it must have smelled divine!

Hump day for me. Ugh. I wish I could retire. Have to have insurance. DH and I have enough $ to do it but not if I have to pay 1500/month for insurance. Ugh.

Lisa - the lavender field is divine, I can almost smell it from just looking at the picture.

Barb - I know what you mean about the insurance.  Mine ends in August and not sure what I will do next.  I have 12 more months before Medicare takes over.  Guess I will be paying the snake (Cobra) until then.

Love the flowers Lisa - I can grow lavender at our 3000' elevation, but deer love the roses - roses are almost like deer bait. 3jays it might be too humid in FL to grow lavender - Like Lisa said, generally, CA gets no rain from spring to fall - a kind of mediterranean climate.

BarbA My sympathies for having to work just for the insurance - we're still there too. This is my first month on Medicare, and we'll see what difference that makes in our finances, but DH still has a couple years to go. edited to say Amyjo, YIKES!

Lisa - Beautiful picture!  Is that arbor made with lilacs?  If so, I have NEVER seen that done before - very cool!

3jays - Lavender can handle the heat; it's actually native to the Mediterranean & Africa.  I'd bet it's the humidity that's causing you problems in FL.

I am not sure ladies since I still have scans coming up, but CA27/29 is up to 3.173.9 from 2,635 and I think I am in trouble....not good, not good at all.  I told the nurse MAKE SURE HE SEES IT.  I don't even see anyone next week since it is my week off, but I am hoping that changes.

Oh, Marybe, I hope, hope hope it is TM's rising caused by tumor flare. PLease know I am praying hard for you every day.

    You, too, 3jays.

I will get DH to put you both in his prayers. He seems to have a direct line to the man.

Marybe - you'll be in my thoughts!  I also want to tell you how much fun I have reading your posts & your smile in your picture is just wonderful!!

Lisa - You might have missed my question.  Do you know if the arbor in your picture is made from lilacs?

BarbaraA, unfortunately your cruise and our trip are at the same time ... the gathering in FL is from Nov 3 to 8 ... if you aren't exhausted from your cruise and can come down for the evening of the 7th I'd love to meet you!

Marybe, I hope your onc has told you that many, many things can affect that test score. My onc doesn't put much faith in that alone, only when combined with other objective findings. Too many ways it can be skewed. I hope your results are as a result of something like that hon.

I won't be online tomorrow night...we have a wedding - I'm off tomorrow to prepare for it, that's why I'm on tonight.  I trust you will all find a way to amuse yourselves until I rejoin you on Saturday :)

    Hugs
