Lindasa, I read somewhere about kale chips - not sure if those were deep fried or what.

White Rabbit, balsamic vinegar is very good on greens, so I imagine apple cider vinegar would be too.  I guess all kale isn't tough so if you've got a tender variety here's a recipe:

Whisk remaining 2 tablespoons white balsamic vinegar, rice vinegar, honey, oil, and salt in large bowl. Add kale, currants, and pine nuts; toss to coat. Let marinate 20 minutes at room temperature, tossing occasionally. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Sprinkle cheese shavings over salad and serve.

Ok!  Enough is enough!  I gave up my entire future and career because I refused to have an abortion some years ago.  BUT!  That does NOT mean everyone who has an abortion should be called "baby killers", imo.  Yes, it's true that it has gotten out of hand and there are some women who use abortion as a contraception BUT it is unfair to classify the other women who have legitimate reasons for having an abortion, as a "baby killer".  I am against abortion but there are certain cases where I feel a woman has a right to end the pregnancy if she does it at the right time.  To some of you, there is never a "right" time and you have a right to your opinion but you also do not have the right to insist that other women are "baby killers" because they feel forced to end there pregnancies which may have been forced on them by rape, incest, or molestation. 

I left this group because I thought you did  not want to discuss politics and lately you seemed obsessed by political issues.  So, I think I have a right to share mine.  We also need planned parenthood because too many women (even in this day and age) do not take the time to get educated about how to protect themselves from unwanted pregnancies.  An "unwanted" pregnancy is NOT an excuse to end the life of an innocent fetus imo.  "You MAKE it, you TAKE it."    A wise doctor once told me when I was crying about how my pregnancy was going to end my career.  "If you don't want to have a baby, you shouldn't have been having sex!"   That could be a good motto for our schools to put up for our kids to see.

Blue, if you have a planter that drains well if I recall correctly years ago it seems that I put a plant in the utility tub and filled it, letting it continually over run to drown the little bugs.  Then let the plant drain well.   You might also try a simple soap spray.  I don't remember the proportions but just a couple of drops of liquid soap mixed in with a spray bottle full of water and spray all the leaf and soil surfaces.  But if they're coming out of the soil I think the drowning method might work better.

Sorry Imbell:  I have already done my 10 years of ugliness.  I am now working only on 10 more years of being lovely.  I am not prepared to be ugly again.  Besides, I can't stand "chain" letters of any sort and sure don't believe they belong in a discussion group.  I will take it just that you are posting this as a joke.  Your "ant" is really quite cute!

IMHO, because teenage girls, as a rule, are not the smartest tools in the shed and are probably thinking;  if I get pregnant, I'll get the guy, he'll marry me and we'll all live happily ever after.

ETA: I in no way mean this as an insult to "all" teenage girls...just most of those I've met...seem really immature and flighty.

gracie1, I would agree.  I would add that most think of getting pregnant as something that happens to other people. . . sort of like getting cancer. . . .

But face it, most teens and pre-teens just don't think stuff all the way through---not the boys, not the girls, not the little stuff like what might happen when you toss that ball at your brother who is on the porch in front of the glass window, not the big stuff like what if you can't really keep track of what time of the month it is or what if you really can't just "pull out" before it happens.  It is a stage of life that we all went through and grew out of. . . .

Well, Ladies!!! It truly does not help to fight about abortion on this thread. It just causes stress and bad feelings. we need to use our voices and opinions and take them to the politicians in charge. They are the ones that can actually do something if enough letters are written and voices are heard, and vote for the ones that adhere to your philosophy.
