So what do you think?  Another snow day?

I hope you have just the right mix, if there is one, that you don't have any more damage. Not too much ice or rain.  The forecast does sound ugly.

So we decided to pick them up on regular dismissing hour. They usually walked home but that day they were keeping them in school

    This is from Sandy's store.

Calphalon prices are too high for me.

Something like this one is still considered healthy.?????????

That looks like a nice cooking set, Sheila.  I have bought many pieces of Calphalon over the years at TJ Maxx and Home Goods.  Do you have those stores?  I can get them for short money there.  I also bought a 145.00 sautee pan on AMazon for 19.99!  Seriously!  They had a special for logging in one day and I thought, this is a joke.  So I bought it and low and behold, it was the real thing!  I always look for those bargains.

I also have a few WOlfgand Puck peices and I love those too.  Good quality cookware!

Okay - no more getting stuck in the snow, almost falling in laundry rooms, or twisting knees and backs!  Hope your knee and back feel better soon, Sandy!

Kids stuck at school - never thought of that.  But my kids are walkers...  Maybe they won't release them if the weather is too bad and I can have some peace and quiet!

Sandy i will be thinking of you tomorrow.♥

Deb..I remember the first picture when you posted but never the new look.

Young mothers with children I will be also thinking of you and praying snow doesn't start until in the afternoon.

I'm hoping the Anodized coating on the Calpalon will be okay. I know it is put on differently than Teflon. I really thought hard about getting it, kept lifting the Stainless pans that were out for viewing & they were so much heavier. Wasn't the teflon bad if it was used at a very high temperature for a long period of time? Seems like I remember something about that. And I don't intend to use any in my oven even tho it says I can up to 400 degrees.

I do plan on buying a new stainless steel frying pan for braising meats & but for now plan to use my old one; I can't get those nice little pieces of browned bits in a non-stick to make those wonderful gravies & sauces. I do have a 8qt stock pot in Calphalon Stainless Steel & I love it.

EDITED TO ADD: Anodization subjects the surface of aluminum to a process that builds up the metal's natural coating of oxide. This yields a hard, nonreactive substance that forms a tough coating that is non-stick, scratch-resistant & easy to clean. Anodization seals aluminum so that the metal cannot leach into food or react to acidic foods. Hard anodized (which is what I have) is an extension of the process using higher voltage & lower temperature, which results in an even harder & more durable coating.

Anodizing is not a coating.  It is a process that is done to the metal pans.  Google it.  I am able to get the brown spots for sauces and gravies etc.

    Snowing here too Sandy.

I remember that pic too, Deb.  The first one, not the second.  Cool store!

I love my Calphalon.  I agree, start with one piece at a time.  If you look hard you can find really good deals like Linda said at Home Goods or TJ Maxx.  I have also found them at Ross and Marshall's.  I like the deep saute pan which can also be used are a sauce pan (If you have the 8 or 9" one).  I also like that they can go from the stove top to the oven.  It is great!

    I'm little confused

Calphalon is the name of the cookware.......

    Anodizing its the mixture....

If its not anodize and just Stainless Steel what does that mean/

    Sorry for all the questionsWink

I hope today turned to be a good day for young mothers.

They have school closings here too. Its absolutely miserable.

    Are you okay?

Stainless tends to make food stick more (But this can be avoided by "seasoning" the pan), thus it take more oil to cook with than the Calph.  You can also cook at the highest heats with stainless, and non-sticks are not recommended for temps over med-high.

One thing to watch out for when buying any cookware is that there is a definite difference in quality.  Not all stainless is created equal and the thickness makes a difference.  I have several pieces of the Calphalon Non-stick and quality stainless steel.  Over the years I have tossed the non-quality pieces.

I just found out that there is a clinical term for it: psychrophobia, but I prefer cold-a-phobia.
