Thinking Out Loud.....

You can't even cook?
-
Meece.....I meant the pilot of my jet. hahahahaha
-
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
-
HUGE HUGS Sheila for broken boiler and Dad's nasty temper.
-
((((((((((RCG)))))))))))))) take it easy and lots of OJ.
-
Ahaha - I totally thought you meant your pilot light on your stove.
I can cook but I am on the sofa and would prefer someone else do it for me. I am coughing, sneezing, sniffling, and whining. I am also lazy and want some awesome soup. I love this soup that is called Aveglemono? (sp?). Greek Lemon Chicken Soup - it is very high cholesterol and fat but, I am sick....
I want to find the salmon thread - where is it? I met with a naturopath who works with breast cancer patients yesterday and we talked about what to eat, supplements, environmental things we can do to reduce our risk. Her #1 recommendation - she wanted me to add a charcoal filter to my shower as the skin is our largest organ and absorbs pesticides and other chemicals in the shower....much much more. I am actually writing up the notes from our meeting and will certainly incorporate some of her recommendations. If you want the notes, let me know. She had some thoughts about salmon, dirty vegetables and fruits, turmeric...the list goes on.
-
I also use fresh lemon in the soup. But all the fat goes down to sink. Its too much fat.
I put chopped up escarole and used orzo.

I believe the boiler is fixed as of 11 this morning.

BREAKING NEWS: Practice at the Jets Stadium was delayed 2 hours yesterday after a player found a white powdery substance on the ground. Police and Homeland Security investigated. Experts determined that the white substance, unfamiliar to most of the players, was in fact the goal line. Practice will resume since the team was unlikely to encounter the substance again. All Pats' fans please post!!
LOL!
Glad you have heat, Sheila - hope your place warms up fast!
-
Yes Pats are going to kick some Jets butt! I made a crock pot full of Chili for DH. That should keep us all warm. I hate chili but he loves it. Since it's his Bday I made enough to freeze for the next several weeks.
Been outside pushing snow off the trees. We have lost so many trees and limbs. It's going to be a huge mess this spring. When I was walking through my back yard ato get to the trees, the snow was up to my mid thighs. I kept getting stuck. LOL!
Too funny!
-
Happy Birthday to your wonderful DH!
Good point about the snow on the trees. I asked my DS to go out and brush the snow off our "little" pine tree that still had snow on it. Should have done it the day of the storm. I don't think it suffered any damage. I hate when trees get damaged in storms.
-
Be careful out in the snow - wouldn't want you to get stuck when no one was around to rescue you! Make sure you have a shovel or a broom or something when you go to help you stand up again. I fell in the snow and it crossed my mind that it was almost deep enough that I might get stuck - but I had a shovel (or broom?) with me.
-
Its much warmer.
Roasted chicken, bake potato, fresh spinach will be my dinner tonight.
Diane...I hope you are feeling better.

DH was with me so we would have gotten stuck together. Sounds kinda nice.
Enjoy your heat and dinner!
I'm going out in a little while for dinner.
-
The cold has moved more to my nose and less to my throat today.....it is 3 p.m. and I just showered. I decided to make mulligatawny soup, lentils, veggies, chicken, garam masala, and yes, some bad coconut milk. Sent DH and DD to grocery store (3 blocks away) an hour and 15 min ago to get the veggies and the coconut milk. They have called four times. Do I want sweetened coconut milk? Do I want tamarind concentrate or chutney? Do I want fresh or frozen chicken!!!!
-
At least they are trying. My DH would come home with God knows what AND a package of Devil Dogs!
-
They are still not home - I am expecting marshmallows and anchovies. MMMM....devil dogs, we don't have those here, thank goodness.
Have a nice dinner out tonight - just watched a Bobby Flay throwdown with Colucci's (sp) in Falmouth...
-
I love to saute spinach with GALIK and mushrooms. I am going to warm up the veggies a did a few days ago. Summer and Zuccini with onions. I made Popovers for DH a few minutes ago.
-
Oh I love popovers, haven't had one in years - used to get them at Popovers, I think in Newton?
-
Diane are you still waiting/
I'M clean. I took the longest shower because after 48 hours its not very pleasant.
My home is nice and warm, Now i will sit and watch a movie.
To Be continued............
-
The pilot light kept going out on the cast iron gas stove in the family room, I called the guy to come and clean it and it has been over a week, still no call. He just lost a customer!!! a$$h))).
Luckily I managed to re=lite it and it is still going, keeping us warm.

I cannot believe how much snow is still outside, in the tree etc. Absolutely nothing has melted at all! I'm sick of it.
