Baby it's cold outside

I've seen those. I had a car once that had that and idividual heaters/ac on both sides. That was nice because I am always colder than everyone else.
-
one of my friends just got a new car with the a/c seats. she said they are wonderful when she is having hot flashes!
-
Meece the hunting section has heated seat cushions that the hunters take with the into the woods. it is a padded seat that reflects the heat back to the body. Just talking about it gives me an idea to get one and put it on my car seat to keep my buns from getting cold while I wait on the car to warm up
.
Weather, this morning when I got up it was 19 degrees. not going to get above 30 today, and calling for more cold weather the rest of the week
and possible wintry mix Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Sheila, is it just based on body heat "magnification" or is it battery operated?
-
Yesterday morning the news weather guesser said rain on Wednesday. I looked it up on Weather.com and sure enough rain Wednesday through Monday. Last night I went back to weather.com and it showed no rain until Friday night. Now it shows rain from Friday through Wednesday next week.
Observation: weather guessers are fickle.

Thanks Meece, Doc called in two prescriptions and I started last night, feeling better today, just tired, actually slept till 9, after listening to the snow plows all night long. The snow didn't go to the south as planned and I'm looking at around 1 foot of snow in the driveway, son will come and blow out the driveway after school, the thought of shoveling that ughrrr, just don't have the energy, still waiting for that to come back Day 8 post last A/c treatment. The A/c was hard for me, really kicked my butt. Hoping the Taxol is better. Stay warm and think California

I will think warm thoughts for you today, Maureen. When do you start Taxol. I think the exhaustion is cumulative. I mean months and months of having junk pumped into you, it's going to take some time to recover!
-
I'm glad your bladder infection is getting better Maureen. Congrats on finishing A/C - I found taxol to be better in every way except joint pains. I took claritin for the joint pains and believe it or not it helped. The onc had never heard of that but some of the ladies on bco said it worked and it did for me. PM me if you have any other questions. I completed chemo about a year ago.
Rough weekend, we had 7 inches of snow, blizzard conditions and no electricity (which means no heat) for 24 hours. Our inside temp was 41 degrees. It was vewy, vewy cold. DH and I slept under 7 blankets to keep warm. When electricity finally came back on the heater didn't work! We had to have $600 of repair done to the geothermal heater due to damage when electricity was out. Merry Christmas to us
To put this in perspective though, much better than last year and I'm NED so this problem is minor!
Stay warm my northern (and southern) friends. Stay dry my northwest friends, stay perfect my california friends and stay cool my NZ friends.
-
Dancing for a holiday season with NED.
-
Meece it is body heat magnification. I haven't had any personal experience but I have friends who hunt and love them. When I lived in OH, some would take them to the football games to keep their bums warm sitting on the metal benches.
-
That sounds good even in my house since I can get cold anywhere!
-
Well we had sprinkles yesterday morning. Nothing really to register, and .08 " rain last night. Guess I just need to pack a suitcase in my trunk so I will have the clothes appropriate for the weather as it changes.
Heading coastward today to support a friend and it is supposed to be dry all day. Wish me luck.
-
Good luck in your travels Meece and may your friend feel better with your wonderful support!
Still frigid weather here, wind chills below zero or just above zero as the sun shines. Roads are still sheets of ice and difficult to drive on. It is supposed to climb into the 20s for the next few days so hoping the salt on the roads starts to melt the ice and make the roads easier to navigate.
-
This morning it was 10 degrees when I got up at least the winds have died down.
For the past couple of weeks I have noticed some water along the side of my road near the stop sign even when we didn't have any rain. Last week it was reported to the water department that there was a water line leak there. They put an orange cone over the area of concern (just off the road) and left it there. This week the leak has gotten worse and water was running across half of the surface of the road down the hill past another house and freezing into a solid sheet of ice. Finally this morning the water department has brought out the equipment to dig up the area and fix the leak. I was going to go to my quilt guild 'sew bee' today but I don't know if I want to get out because it is this cold, I think I will stay home today.

I think that's a good idea Sheila. Stay in your cozy warm home and enjoy some hot chocolate or something. I braved the cold for the both of us!
-
Sheila, stay in and stay safe.
-
My daughter took a picture of my snowman collection. They're staying nice and warm inside. Happy Winter everyone.
-
55 and rain yesterday, 19 and snowing today. Gotta love it!
-
I am glad in a way that I am not working now, I did stay home this morning and got a Christmas present almost finished (pair of flannel lounge pants for sons friend). I did have to go out this afternoon to get my tag renewal, it runs out at midnight. Temp got up to 40 degrees today, I also helped recaulk a window in my son's room to stop an air leak before the next cold blast and snow expected around midnight tonight. We can't seem to get a break on the winter weather. The temp is now around 30 degrees and dropping.
Sheila
-
I guess no more rain here until Friday. We will be traveling then and the weather is supposed to be in the 50s during our trip.
-
You are a busy bee Sheila!
Safe travels Meece.
3 degrees here this morning. This is how a 2 and a half year old dresses when it's 3 degrees in Michigan - I think she is in disbelief that she actually has to wear this entire getup:
-
That's too cute. I porbably look like that when it is 30 degrees. You wouldn't see any of me at 3 degrees.
-
It's a bit chilly - we're now down to 1 degree, it's going the wrong way but the sun just came up so hoping the temp starts to rise! I'm trying hard not to complain, this has been a challenging week weatherwise. The drive to and from work is awful cause the salt on the roads doesn't melt the ice at these cold temps and then the bitter cold. YUK. I'm lucky to have an remote car starter so I go into a nice warm car.
-
I'll say you are lucky! There is usually a drop in the temp as the sun comes up. i don't know why it is, but even the weather guessers here note it.
-
Was suppose to get up to 68 today so I dressed accordianly because I would be home from rads before the cool front came it. WRONG,
it came in before lunch and it is now 56 and getting colder. Never made it to 68. Think I will have to run home and change clothes before I head to rads.
-
Those rads rooms are so cold anyway. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
-
The sun came out today, but it still didn't get above 20 degrees. Currently 14 degrees. Should be quiet for a few days, but the weather guessers are guessing there might be a Nor'Eastah come Monday. So glad I don't have to go anywhere next week!
-
I think we will be traveling and following the rain tomorrow. Yuk!
-
.06" rain this morning. I'll bet you ladies back East think I am crazy for even registering that small of an amount, but to us it makes a difference.
-
Meece I wish I could say we had that much, it is really dry here in Texas
