Hi my elab friends!
After two weeks of traveling the state of Michigan for work, I'm finally home. I've been awful with the eating - so hard to eat correctly while away from home and I haven't exercised in over a week. I wasn't able to weigh myself Friday and frankly I'm scared to get on the scale so I'll wait until next Friday. Beginning tomorrow it's back to the fitness club for treadmill and for spinning on Tuesday and Thursday. I like the idea of us all spinning in front of the web cam - that would be good motivation.
We can all do this. If we fall off, we just have to get back on course - that's my plan for this week.
Hugs and kisses

Welcome home, Suzette! You were away & didn't have/make good choices - I've been home & didn't have/make good choices.
I'm going to Marquette this coming Sat for 10 days, my goodness, I hope I can at least hold my own. I'm certainly going to try VERY hard to watch every little morsel that goes into my mouth. I know it will be hard. I gained the last time I went. No kiddies birthday this time, so NO yummy cake at least.
You are so right, Faithie, the holidays are just around the corner. I'm glad you brought that up. We need to have some wiggle room or we will go into next year big as owls, no little-bitty birdies will we be. And the thing is, my DD & I will be planning our Christmas menu for our family holiday while I'm up there. OY!
I think I need to get back to smaller portions, have slipped on that as well as taking second helpings at times. Think I'll play tag with the kiddies more, too. Maybe I can get some of this flab/fat/loose whatever that is on my arms to fly off into Lake Superior!

I had one spoon of beans, one spoon of mashed potatoes & one small (very dry) piece of chicken at the family reunion I went to Saturday. And, I was so proud of myself, NO dessert! BUT, my DH & I were so hungry when we got home (we don't like the hostess' cooking, so he didn't eat much either!), I had 3 small pieces of pepperoni pizza. BAD BIRDIE !!!
Today I had a delicious grilled hamburger with lettuce, bold & spicy mustard & pepper-jack cheese with two halves of deviled eggs on the side. NO dessert! Wait, yes, an Edy's pomegranate Ice pop later.
Meecie ~ Your chicken dish was great - oh, you had that, not me!
It sounds delicious & so did the fruit bowl, minus the pear.
Why do things have to be so hard??
♥

Have you ever seen an overweight birdie? They all look identical, you don't point out the bird whose ankles are thick or whose wings jiggle when they fly. Doesn't seen fair does it?
-
Because of the meds I'm taking for my back pain, I have to force myself to eat. My DH thinks he can entice me to eat more by going to the store and picking up goodies. What he doesn't know is that they really gross me out. Last night he bought home a caramel/chocolate pie. I forced myself to eat a small piece and felt sick all night. He ended up eating a piece a noon and another piece with ice cream at 7:00 PM. He is gaining a cute little belly during all this. Besides the food, I think the stress is really wearing on him.
I can't wait till Wed. when I get the epidural!
-
It doesn't seem fair that the birdies all look the same. I couldn't get out of bed this morning to go work out, too tired. Tomorrow I will - it's a class and I don't want everyone to think I gave up on spinning. The peer pressure alone will get me out of bed.
Enjoy Marquette Val - I ate dinner one night at a place called L'Attitude Bistro at 105 E. Washington - right across from Lake Superior. I had a california roll that was delicious and a large enough appetizer that it was what I ate for dinner. Try it if you get a chance when you're up there.
-
Suz, maybe it was you I was dreaming about "spinning" on this thread with. I thought about bringing my stationary bike in to where it is more accessible, but didn't get around to actually doing it.
-
My DH and DS and their buddies all bring their road bikes inside in the winter and they all have a spinner that they can attach those bikes to. They practice all winter. I can't use their bikes though cause I'm only 5'3" and they're all at least a foot taller than I am. I can't get on their bikes, too high! That's why I have to go to a class. Those spinners are adjustable : D
-
Okay, Turkeys and Chickens come in different sizes and some can be pudgy. Just had that thought come to me as I ate three Chicken wing pieces for lunch. That was it. The guy who sold them to me said something like "Oops a couple of those are big, you want me to get you some small ones?" I mean how big can a chicken wing "drumette" be? I only had one of the drumettes and two of the other pieces. Sheesh, I hope he wasn't judging on how much I should eat.
-
Glad to see you back Suzette! Hope everyone is having a great week. I have been not good this week. Someone put out Halloween candy at work .... bad, bad, bad!!! I will be so glad when it is gone, even if it is dum dum sucker and orange slices, and jaw breakers, etc. It really stinks. I have to convince myself to be good again!!! The holidays are around the corner... ya'll are so right!! HELP!!!
Come here and tape my mouth shut and tie me to my treadmill please ....
Renee
-
I echo Renee's sentiments. I'm so afraid to get on the scale tomorrow. Halloween candy is killing me, tape my mouth shut and throw me on the spinner.
-
This might be too obvious, but I buy Halloween candy that I don't like, or at least not much. Kids love Nerds, I don't. They love nasty Sourpatch stuff, not I. I don't like chocolate with crisp rice inside, so I might get some Nestle's Crunch to give out.
This year, instead of Reese's (one bag for me, one for the kids) I am giving out Karr's Sweet and Salty trail mix. Although it has the same peanut/chocolate flavor combo going on and one bag IS very caloric, I know from past experience that I'll eat a few of them over the weeks but won't be tempted to devour the 24ct. box myself.
Long story short: Do not buy YOUR favorite treat, E-labbers!
-
Am I kicked off E-Lab just for mentioning that much candy in one post???
-
You're not kicked off elab Elimar. That's the only way I'm going to get candy now, is from reading about it! You do state the obvious but apparently I need the obvious stated! As Renee said earlier, someone please come and tape my mouth shut (and keep me out of stores that sell candy)!
-
elimar LOL
Meece is very understanding after my goldfish and Milano Cookies Im still here.

Think Fruit
-
Okay we are all forgiven now. Yes?
-
I bought some red grapes today. I did some bad snacking earlier, so tonight I will reach for the grapes.
-
Yumm!!! Have I told you guys about my fruit diet? Nothing but fruit for 2 weeks...gained 8 lbs
All things in moderation...
Haven't posted much still well over my original high but I am showing myself some kindness because my body has been put through hell and maybe it still needs that extra 'cushion' of protection.
-
Michelle, thank you! I will never go on an all fruit diet... LOL!!! Nor will I go an all candy diet Elimar or Suzette... Heeeheee!!! Sheila stay out of the goldfish and Milano cookies and I'll stay out of the candy dish (I hope). 3 musketeers and milkways are a weakness as well as paydays which are my absolute favs!!! and no one is putting out so I'm not having to worry about.
Gotta stay away from the bread. My goal for this next week is to get on the treadmill and walk a mile twice a week and try to work myself up. I've got to find the time. that is the problem not walking the mile. How in the world do you ever make time for yourself when you have a family and work all the time. I can never figure that out???? I have to do it. My sanity and health depends on it. Maybe if I tell myself that enough I'll finally do it.

Michelle ~ I remember way, way back you saying that you had gained weight while on a fruit diet so I slacked off on my smoothies that I was having every day. That's awful, "eat fruit they say, it's good for you, be sure to eat fruit every day." They don't tell you you can gain weight from it if you have too much!
Everything in moderation, I guess.
I came close the other day to buying those Pepperidge Farm "feather light cookie sticks" - whatever they are, in the tin. OM, they are soooo yummy. My DD mentioned them the other day & I'm headed to her place Sat., I hope we don't buy any.
Give me strength!
Yummy fruit bowls. Thanks for sharing, Sheila!

Isn't today Friday?
Seriously. I think it's a Friday.
Where is everybody??
I honest-to-goodness was my lowest again, this a.m. 139.2
Earlier in the week I saw our scale is capable of a lower number, but since it wasn't a Friday I'm not reporting -- just good to know conceptually.
Walk away from the office candy dish..... that's one thing about working outta your home -- there's no office temptations: LOL.
We gotta be on our best behavior during October, birdies..........
strap on those seat belts!!

150.4
I'll be honest, that is what I was this morning.
No excuse.
On a different note, I'm off for an 11-day visit to my DD's to play with my Grandchildren. Have a wonderful week.
Stay strong.
Don't touch those candy bowls!
I'm way past time for getting to bed. Up at 6 am.
{{hugs}}

Well I am here with DS aand DIL. No scale. I had a salad for lunch yesterday and 4 chicken nuggets. A hot dog and a few nachos for dinner. I hiked a bit yesterday.
We can do this. I had a scare a few days ago. I stepped on my scale and it said 169! It must have had sometihng on the floor under it, because it didn't do it again, but what a disappointment at first.

Have you ever noticed that eating six ounces of cookies can make you gain a full pound?
-
-
I have not been thirsty this week. that's got to be bad for me!
-

I eat...I gain, I don't eat, I gain....I eat healthy, exercise..stay the same??? HELP!!!
Is it too late to join?? I need some support, and something and someone to drive me, and hold me accountable! I will have to weigh myself...yuck..never do that, except for the doctors. I will check in...if it's not too late. If not...I will weigh myself by Friday 10/8/10 (my middle daughters b'day...good day to start).
