Some, but not all of my problem is that my first baby was big, and really damaged muscles. One day, when I get through all this BC recon stuff, and cut down on the tests, I am going to go have it repaired. I eat high fiber granola snacks, took Colace yesterday to little results.
Frustration!!!

Gained a couple of #'s as well.
Too much of "a little bit of this, a little bit of that" when my D-gr-kids were here. Ugh!
Meecie & Sheila ~ Maybe instead of looking at what you are eating right to keep things moving along, maybe you could look at things that complicate the matter. Bananas? Milk? Cheese? Other dairy? I'm thinking of foods that my D-granddaughter ate that held things in her longer than it should have. She would go a week at times & not have a BM. She was still drinking whole milk at the time & that was a major culprit. Foods with white flour. My DD switched to whole grain crax, breads, got away from anything white. Can't remember the list, it's been a year & a half or so, but could be worth checking into. Just a thought....

Hey labbie-birdies.
I just noticed our dear captain forgot to clock me in last week in the header chart.
I had to go back and look it up. Last week was my all time low at 139.6....... so I gotta get that documented for old times sake. I'm thrilled to announce that I was 139.8 this morning -- still staying a breath below my 'wouldn't it be awesome if I stayed below 140 number?'
That's the good news. The truth of the matter is that we are now packed & in our car and leaving our summer shangra-la-la-land....... for real life.
I was able to 'sustain' my best low for one week in nirvanah.......... now what?
I was able to lose a total of 14 pounds -- hubby 19 pounds.
We are so eager to stay living in our slimmer bodies.
With the ELAB-ers I hope we can behave ourselves as we return to our "city/work" life.
So I'm smiling ear-to-ear for one last Friday.
Let's keep moving. Let's keep encouraging.
Let's keep making good choices.
Let's come up with some new positive behaviors.
xx00xx00xx00xx
I think probably nearly everyone has heard my excitement on some other thread, but just in case ya missed it...... we got the color proofs back yesterday for my picture book!!!!! So the last 24 hours I've been on a happy-high!
-
Faith..double or triple Congratulations for all your achievements for the last few months
Val...you made an excellent point. Maybe its related lack of greasy food.
I used to love bananas and eat them every day but I don't know what happened cant stand the side of it. I eat cheese, I don't drink milk any milk at all.
I just had a bowl of fresh Asparagus microwaved with little olive oil and sprinkle of bread crumbs.
Now I need to exercise my arms I will be folding the wash.
Hugs to you all♥

I've never done it but DH's Grandmother swore by this to get you going - she use to take a few spoons of liquid paraffin - she use to stir it through her porridge - she lived to 99 but I will reiterate I have never done it so I cannot give any first hand experience of it. I still just take 6 prunes at bed time every night and it usually keeps me 'regular' however I had a lovely beef dinner last week and it was the first time in ages that I ate beef and it really did slow me down - think I'm back to normal again now tho'
- LOL - did I ever think I would be telling total stranger such details?? But then again you are not really strangers - you are very special friends.
Just a half pound down for me this week - Meece you missed me last week too but it was the first time in a good while that I had posted - anyway it's 144.5 today please!!
Hope everyone gets back in the smallest room soon and gets down to some smaller #s too!!
-
I think sometimes I get so carried away by the conversation, I forget to change the weights, after all, how many weeks did I go and forget my own acheivement. Even after Faithie reminded me, I forgot!
Congrats, Faithie. When do we get to order a copy?
-
Meece. The books could hopefully arrive in the next month.
I'm thinking of setting up a pre-order promo. Let me figure it out. People on FB have been after me to get a system in place. I think that I'll 'number' the first shipment..... so you can get a limited number of the first 'pressing.'
I know you guys are gonna be seriously proud of me.
Here's the pic from my blog.
Each of the illustrations I made from fabric, as mini-quilts. Hence the length of time in the creative process. Sigh! It's finished.
-
Faithie, put my down for one. From what I can see, it is beautiful. You are so very creative! Is there anything you can't do??
You inspire me to get some quilting out. I only have three quilts in progress. I thought I would be adventurous and make my DS a king sized log cabin, HA!! the top was nothing! It's the hand quilting that is killing me. I have an applique quilt I designed with llamas that I am quilting, and I am quilting a quilt top my grandmother made in the 50s. She passed away due to cancer three years before I was born. It is nostalgic working with the old fabrics that she had pieced.
-
Meece and Faithie how creative you both are, I can't quilt or sew... NOT a STITCH!!! I really wish I could though.
my mom never taught me how. Faithie I would love to have one of those books as well. Please let us know how much and how to get them.
Sheila you had me rolling in the floor about starting a s**t thread. OMG you are hilarious!!!! As for the Miralax (I buy WalMart's brand which is Equate and it's much cheaper), it is tasteless and odorless, mixes well in water or juice, it's not clumpy like Metamucil and it works really fast. I bought it yesterday evening and used it about 4 p.m and by 6 a.m this morning I had been to the "potty" without cramping like a laxative and it was a normal bowel movement. I think it is a regimen I am going to stay on everyday.
Here's to hoping that all of us that gained this week will drop a few next week.
Renee
-
Renee....I will try what you said CVS brand or any store brand. I never took anything for this before. I wonder if it interferes with Femara. Well Tomorrow I will go and get it and next day we can discuss our s**t issues.
How are you feeling?
♥
-
Thanks for the heads up, Mimi. I bought the Name Brand at something like $14! I will check out the store brands. I think regimen may be the trick.
-
Weighed this morning and I am back to my lowest Elab weight. I hope to do better this week. My back pain and leg numbness is gone today. Hope it stays away so I can excercise.
-
Good luck Meece! I hope your pain stays away as well pain really stinks!!
Sheila, no the Miralax (or store brand of it) won't interfere with your medication. Go ahead and get it and start taking it ASAP! you will definitely feel better. I missed this morning and I have felt yucky all day. won't do that again.
-
Good work Meecie on getting back to lowest posted weight. I wish I could; I get close & then head the other way again. Ugh! I also hope your back pain & leg numbness stays away, get the heck outta here, Meecie doesn't need you hangin' around!

Thank you, Val!
I feel like I can make some headway this week. I am gonna try to hit the 160.xx mark this week.
-
hi all! can i join this thread? i gained about 12 pounds during treatment and am still trying to get rid of 7 or 8.....not a whole lot but it seems to be going so slowly! i've changed my eating habits in a big way and i feel good about that. have some input regarding poop issues as welll, probiotics are a miracle...either in a multi or taken as a separate supplement. such remarkable results that i inflict waaaaay TMI on friends and loved ones because i am so amazed. anyway, i wanna be in this group!! hi new friends!
christine
-
Welcome, Christine. Sure you can join. I have tried Dr. Ohira's probiotics, but didn't notice a change.
This is a safe place to admit what we are doing wrong and encourage each other. I don't think I would be 8 lbs lighter if I didn't have the accountablity I have here.
-
Don't be a hater, but since I'm on all this pain meds., which they upped this weekend, I haven't been regular. This is not usually a problem for me. I've also been losing way to much weight. This AM I drank some prune juice and all h#ll broke out. It wasn't pretty. Good thing I didn't feel up to going to Church. Anyways, before the prune juice kicked in I weighed in at 151. Don't know if that's a good thing or not. They are talking about steroids shots and I'll probably gain it all back and then some.
-
Congratulations to all who lost this week and to those who didn't, keep on trying. I was 125 on Friday. The S**T thing is about killing me. I would join a thread about that. I've had it!!! I do have IBS though so have lived with it for a while. two scoops of miralax every day doesn't even help.. Geez. Anyway, I was happy to be at 125, hoping the exercise is helping.
Faith, save a book for me. What a talented woman you are.
Talk to you all later.
-
Welcome Christine we are glad to have a newbie join in!
Meece I am back this morning to my all time low of 148 as well. Woo Hoo!! I took some Lasix (my diuretic) and the Miralax helped with the bowel movement problem, so I got rid of some unwanted pounds. Of course if I keep eating like a fool I won't stay there. LOL!!
Lisa you are right if they give you steroids in any form you will most likely gain some weight. It could be a few pounds or a lot of pounds. It all depends on you and how it affects your eating habits.
Good Luck to everyone this week. May we all eat like birdies.

Tonight i ate like a human.
Juicy steak with sweet potato and a bowl of salad with whole avocado.
And Im not sorry because I really enjoyed it, now if i could just have a slice of cheese cake.................
-
Oh my, cheesecake, Yummo!
My favorite dessert of all time! Haven't had that in sooooo long. I can smell it now. With a heavenly Raspberry sauce dripping on to the plate, or lucious Strawberry sauce drizzled ever so gently on top.
Look what you started, Sheila!!
At least I won't gain weight just painting a picture of it in my mind, will I?
Now I must clean the drool off the keyboard.
Welcome Christine! We have lots of fun here, share tips & lots of encouragement. If we fall off the wagon, we get back on & just tighten up the seatbelt a bit snugger.
My dinner this evening was grilled chicken with a southwestern rub & 2 spoons of potato salad that I haven't made in 2 years. Delicious! And, my no-no was a small brownie with walnuts for dessert.
This Aromasin is not a steriod, per se, but it has a steriodal compound so I know it contributes to my weight gain & my holding onto the weight in general. I feel I am fighting a losing battle. And I have 3 1/2 years to go on it, so, I have a lot of work cut out for me for a while yet.
I might be needing another kick in the butt soon, ladies!
Good luck to everyone this week!
Hi Suzette!
-
hi, thanks for the welcome! i am aggravated this morning, ate a few things this weekend not on my 'diet' and weighed two pounds up today. how irritating! i've mostly been so conscientious. tomorrow is my 19th wedding anniversary, and my husband LOVES thanksgiving so i am cooking the whole thanksgiving meal for dinner. it will be fun and sweet but of course when i post on wed i probably will have gained 5 pounds. and we are going out to dinner tonight.....gotta figure out a way to go have fun and lose weight at the same time....
has anyone read 'life over cancer' by somebody block? anyone trying to follow that eating plan? i'm kinda doing it although i modify it a lot.
faith, your quilts are so beautiful! makes me want to start quilting!
-
My deepest thanks to all my birdie-friends for your kind words of support.
This project has been such an intense labor-of-love. It's taken five years for me to complete the 16 mini-quilts needed for the 32 page book. There were sooooooooo many times that I lost the drive to keep at it, because of being so over-whelmed, being on the road, too many other projects calling for attention etc etc etc.
Of course I started it before all of this BC nonsense. To be this near to it's fruition, in the midst of the continued BC/LE nonsense is indeed some sort of triumph of perseverance. I'll believe it more so when I hold the first book in my own hands.
All I can tell you, is that bringing the book across the finish line is TOTALLY and completely parallel to the weight/fitness/good choices track that has joined us here together.
And welcome Christine, before I forget.
The weight challenges as we age and have physical limitations seems like producing a book. Overwhelming. Difficult. All too often I threw up my hands in dispair. Yet, just like the little engiene that could: "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can......................." is truly what it takes to make progress.
Little efforts combine into visible progress. It's tue. I'm the poster child of evidence.
Move more. Eat less.
Move more. Eat less.
Then start stringing those good choices/efforts side by side and ultimately there's a teeny tiny whittle bit of progress. Barely noticed by others, but genuine none the less.
Thanks fo all for your encouragement, in BC land, in ELAB town and on Faith-Street, for my efforts that are infintessimally small at times, but accumulate over five years to be able to share.

We share your joy, Faithie.

I'd better lose something this week so I can show off my purple pedi!
-
ooo, I can't wait to see your purple pedi. Sounds so wonderful. I'm reporting early since I'm out of town. I had to do my weigh in early. No change and I'm so glad. I've been very bad food wise this week but the increased exercise is paying off. Good luck my sister elabers.
-
It was funny, at the onc's today, the nurse told me to step on the scale and she was writing something down. I went ahead and balanced the scale, and she took another half poung off then wrote my wieght as 163.5. Fully clothed with shoes. I jsut go by my scale, same one week in and wekk out.
-
Well I think I may skip weigh in this week because I was out of town at an Assisted Living Conference and needless to say I did not eat well!! Not AT ALL!!
Now to get back on the old horse and try, try again! But here's to hoping that all of you othere wonderful sister's lost big time, especially you Meece so that we can see that purple pedi. Speaking of pedi's I think I may try to leave work early tomorrow and go get a Roll Tide pedi! LOL!~ we are still #1 Ingram is playing this week against Duke...
Gotta have something to cheer about it's certainly not my weight loss
