    no news on the back.  Have to call the neurosurgeon and see if any of the 1130 images from the ct scan were good enough or if I need to do another one.  sigh......  I'd really just like the back to stop, I think i'd rather be on chemo again than have this continue.

    "Neurosurgeon" sounds so .... like a hot TV doctor.  Too bad they're probably not.  We need more eye candy while going through all this crap.

    All Drs should look at least as good as Mark Smith, PS at Beth Israel.  And speak with Sacchini's Milan accent.  Just sayin'.

    Hi Eileen,

    The implant is pretty good. Pretty similar to my other one..a tad bigger...But I do believe there is a problem with the muscle. No big deal. I will ask the PS when I see him in a month.

    Ah that explains the description of the symmetry... sounds like it's looking good!  What is your issue with the muscle?

    I am also a uni so am always interested in details :)  I am scheduled for exchange in May.  I am going to be getting one of those Allergan 410s (anatomical gummy).  My PS seems to think these will do best for symmetry.  And having a lift/reduction of my healthy breast (to help with the whole symmetry thing).

    Lilah- I'm also  a unaboober or a frankenboober, depending in how u look at  it. I hope your exchange goes well.  Neurosurgeon IS eyecandy but it doesn't do me any good, I always hurt too much to care when I see him.

    LOL Flash on frankenboober -- at the moment (one TE that's a perfect but very hard and high round bump (850 cc's!) and the other a droopy, natural DD) I am definitely a bit of a frankboober!  I don't obsess about it though because I know there will be a lift and reduction in May... can't WAIT to lose this TE though :)

    GRRRRR.

    Thought I was starting rads today.  Nope.  The xrays showed that I'd shape-shifted and wasn't lining up properly.  I had to be re-simmed.  Now they have to re-calculate the fields.  I won't start till next Weds.  I'm SOOOOOO frustrated.

    Lilah..My symmetry is pretty good. Not perfect but acceptable. The muscle appears to be a pectoral one that was moved. I told my DH that now I can be on David Letterman and do stupid people tricks. I can almost will my breast to move on it's own with this muscle. My boob was lifted when they put the TE in ..The muscle appears to be under my arm and does hurt when I sleep on it. Nothing I can't live with. When I go back to the PS I will speak with him.

    Sweaty..too bad about your radiation delay.

    Flash..What is happening with your back surgery?

    Maybe we can arrange a dinner in May or June.

    This weekend my BCO ladies whom I met on this board during chemo will be coming to NYC to see the city. I will be the guide. They are coming from as far away as Edmonton Alberta, North Carolina, Philadelphia, and more. Total nine in all. can't wait to meet then all ..We were called March Warrior Princesses when we all began chemo last march.

    Francine you are so funny (stupid people tricks)!  Yes the TE is usually put under the pectoral -- which is stretched by the expanding TE -- and then the implant is placed in the pocket created by TE under that muscle.  I figure I was not terribly symmetrical to begin with, so I'm sure I'll be okay if it isn't a perfect match.  At this point I just can't wait to get to the next step!

    Thanks for the info about the Pectoral Muscle. I do believe part of my problems may be due having Latflap surgery last July.

    I know how you feel about getting this stuff over and done. I have been on this journey since my Mastectomy last January..I have developed necrosis, MRSA,  had chemo ,Lat Flap surgery and more along the way.

    I think I finally see the light at the end of my tunnel.

    Oh Francine poor you!  Well I didn't realize you had had lat flap surgery -- so that is a different deal (and I'm a bit fuzzy on all the details).   I had discussed the TRAM with my PS in the beginning, but decided I did not want to face the additional risks like necrosis... nor did I want the more extended recovery that a TRAM involved.  I am so sorry you've had so much to deal with.  I hope that things are better now.

    Thanks for the kind thoughts. But I am fine with all that I have been through. The way I see it is that the cancer stuff is the important stuff and everything else is just fluff.

    I have been a real trooper as so many of us have been.

    Anyone with a car want to go camping this summer?  I have a lovely tent, cooler, stove, etc. - but no transport.  Big enough to fit 2 twin inflatabeds or several sleeping bags w/o inflatabeds.  Technically, I think it sleeps 6, but that's only if you pack people like sardines.

    Anyone else have a tent?  The more the merrier.

    We can roast marshmallows on sticks and tell ghost stories - or boob stories, which might be scarier anyway.

    BTW - I'm not talking backwoods camping.  I'm too much of a wuss.  I like the kind where you drive up, pitch the tent, and have toilets and hot showers w/in walking distance.  But you sleep under the stars.  Or a tree.  Near a lake.  Etc.

    well, don't know about driving to camp but..... I live with 4800 acres of woods behind me.  Have flat ground, plenty of camping stuff  (I supplied my gs troop.) There's hiking for 4-6 hours out the back.  don't have water directly, but local pond is not far (about 7 min drive). I'd be happy to host. You wouldn't think you're 69 miles from NY.  We're in between two reservoirs.

     When we've gone camping at other sites it's always tooo noisy. My kids informed me that the "backyard" was much better. Think on it.  don't care if it was 1 person or all.

    sounds good sweaty: one blow up bed coming up! Seriously, we have some great hiking and stuff around here, or if you just want to get away from NYC.

    good news: ct confirmed the breaks in the vertebra.  now i meet with him tomorrow to figure out the next step.  finally. never thought i'd be so happy to have some bad news but i was beginning to feel like it was in my head.  turns out there are 4 trauma fractures.  So on to the next step.  It still all is fine wiht me, in the grand scheme of things, I'm lucky.

    Ok, still don't have a date but yes, we're moving forward. Now it's an MRI and a wait for scheduling but we're definitely doing L3, L4 and L5 fusion and pins.
