FREE YOGA for bc patients
Hi ladies,
My good friend is earning her certification in yoga instruction and has been giving me private yoga classes during my treatment. We decided it would be great to open it up for others. The details are tbd, but I know the classes will prob be an hour on a weeknight. Please let me know if you're interested. We have room for approx 8 women.

Seaport Nov 14th? See top of thread.
-
Nov 14 works for me? anyone else??
-
I'm a definite maybe. I have tentative plans to get together with a dear friend for dinner and celebrate both of our birthdays. I'll know for sure by the end of the week.
-
Do we have critical mass on this?
I have a feeling the original group might not all be on BCO no mo.
-
Hi, I'm a newbie and would be very interested in meeting you all on the 14th!
-
Anymore?
-
Maybe put this on Facebook. I have a feeling many of us have moved on from BCO.
-
Last call....Flash should we try to re-schedule if we don't have anyone else.
-
Bumping this
-
just saw this thread.im originally from brooklyn.would love to come but tomorrow??????i dont think so BUT if you do change the date i would be interested.CHRISTMAS IN NY MIGHT INTEREST MANY PEOPLE.
just my 2 cents worth.I live in NJ now.
-
@granny Christmas Day? Eve?
-
Ok.....It sounds like we don't have critical mass for tomorrow.
We could try for January perhaps?
-
hi, everyone (or hi Grannydukes and Cookiegal) - I'd be interested in coming. This wasn't the best day for me anyway. I'm having a mastectomy on Thursday and I'm fairly freaked out, though telling myself that I am going in for plastic surgery ... plastic surgery... what a flat stomach I'll have...
I like the Christmas in NY idea. Recently my favorite windows ever have been Anthropologie at Rock. Ctr, so maybe somewhere near there?? Always fun to see the tree.
-
KW.....good luck with the surgery. Are you having reconstruction?
-
There is a wonderful Bistro right next to the tree--on Street level--cannot remember the name--on the North West corner if 50th Street--you can see the tree outside the windows--indoor and outdoor seating but probablly will be no outdoor seating in December--
Found it! http://www.brasserieruhlmann.com/brasserie-ruhlmann-menu.php
Somehow I missed the Nov 14 date! Did you all meet?
Can we do it again in December?
-
Yes, Cookiegal, I am having immediate recon. via DIEP. Woo hoo - tummy tuck (note lack of exclamation point... alll getting a bit too real).
-
December or January works for me, too -- at least as far as I know right now. I have my post-op appt Tuesday following my lumpectomy. I assume this is the time I'll learn what happens next, whether I can expect to start chemo in a few weeks or what.
Kitchenwitch, good luck with your surgery! Sounds like you are pretty anxious -- and who wouldn't be? Let us hear from you afterward when you're able.
-
As soon as the tree goes up in New York the beat goes up up up.
IMO that is the best time to be ANYWHERE in Manhattan.
-
The Chrismasie sort of thing sounds like a great idea! Would love to meet up with all of you again!
-
Thanks, Citykitty. I'll post back in a day or two when I'm up and around. Right now I am looking forward to getting it over with, and fretting because I don't know if the hospital has internet access. Like that's the biggest problem i'll be facing!
-
Good luck tomorrow Kitchenwitch. Ill be prayin for ya.
-
I've been working 60 hour weeks and haven't checked the board in a while.....but I'm still around. Probably can't make anything till Dec. (I'll prob get laid off beginning of Dec., so will have more time.) Hope you are all well. Best wishes to Kitchenwitch!
-
Hi ladies,
Been a while for me too on this board. Would love to meet in NY at Christmas time.
Will be checking back on this board soon,
Hugs,
Francine
-
Happy Turkey Day to you all. How about getting together the last week before Christmas?

Hi, sweaty and everyone! We seem to be swtiching schedules. Starting Tuesday, 12 days after a mastectomy I will be working most of the month! Aaargh. I'll just have to make it work. It's been nice not having to do anything except worry about some online shopping for the moment.
-
sweaty- if you get laid off, call me and we'll get together. Doing surgery dec 9 on nose so I won't be good for a week after that. Still want to meet you at lemongrass grill by NYU. Love their food and it's an easy place for me to get to in the city.
-
Nose surgery - when does Flashy Flash get a BREAK!!!!???
Will let you know when the axe falls, it's coming - but no one in a position of authority will say anything concrete about when.
A friend of mine w lymphoma's chemo (round 1) has failed, now she's up for another round of really intense chemo followed by stem cell transplant. An old college roommate of mine has been down this path, so I've seen it in action and it's very un-pretty. Old roomie is now OK 2+ years out, I hope the same for my friend about to walk that road. CANCER SUCKS.
At least MSKCCs isolation rooms are nice. I wonder if you still have to wear a yellow gown/mask when visiting? I don't look good in yellow.
