Hi everyone-
I'm a newbie. Any recent palns for a meeting in NYC?
-
I think we are considering a trip to CT in July or August. Welcome!
-
Hi all:
I am home from the hospital, looks like things worked : ) still druggy and foggy
-
yea!
-
BigApple!
So good to hear you are home! I hope you are healing nicely.....and are able to relax and sleep well this weekend!
Will say a prayer for your continued healing!
God Bless!
-
Wendy,
Glad to hear things went well for you. I know how much you looked forward to getting another breast.
Heal well and fast..
Hugs,
Francine

I feel like a scare crow who has had their stuffing put back in
-
That's great to hear, Wendy.
-
Haven't been on in awhile, work has been insane. After spending 10 to 12 hours a day in front of the computer, the last thing I want to do when I get home is go on the computer!
I love the idea of a road trip to CT this summer. If that doesn't pan out, we can always get together at the beach here on Long Island. Jones Beach has train service to Freeport, then hop on the bus, and you'll be right there.
Bigapple, if your friend still needs a breast surgeon, or wants to go for a second option, I had my lumectomy done by Dr. Dwight De Risi in Great Neck. He is so wonderful, he was the only option that I got. He also brought in a partner, Dr Patricia Pezzillio, and that's who I'm seeing now. She also does surgeries. Not sure if the spelling is correct, but Dr. Allan Shones is in the practice, he does the reconstrutive surgery.
Glad to hear everybody's surgeries went well!
-
Congratulations Bigapple!
-
Thank you Sweaty.
It is sonice to look down and have a clevage again and a boobie that does not come off. I feel so much less like Ms Potato head now.
-
Wendy..Continue to heal and keep up that sense of humor.
Hugs,
Francine

What about a gtg at one of the Philharmonic in the Park (or similar) thingies?
-
I love that idea....just be aware it's really croweded and the cells don't work...but I love that idea!
-
We could probably arrange to meet at coffee shop nearby and then descend en mass on the unsuspecting philharmonic, and avoid the cell issues. We can make it a grown up Field trip, every one gets a buddy and we meet at a pre selected place after in case we get separated : )
-
I say we go for it....we just need to get there early...and I mean maybe 3 or 4 PM. It's always croweded but last year was total insanity...I never found my group and the food, but I let a bunch of strangers sit on my blanket and we all shared and had a good time.
They are doing two nights this year, and maybe that is the reason why.

I'm flying out to a Bd of directors meeting the 14th and getting back late Sunday, so I wont be able to go on those days : (
-
Awww...Bigapple, that sucks! I wonder what other lovely NYC freebies we could try to hook up at....
As far as NY Phil is concerned, at this point I'm good with either Central Park show. I was going to suggest seeing the Prospect Park show instead because it will probably be less crowded, but the program there seems crappy in comparison.
Cunningham Park (Queens) is difficult to get to without a car.
Just came back from Allen Toussaint at Celebrate Brooklyn. Fab! Ya gotta love the NYC summer freebies!!!
-
Do any of the Metropolitan Opera freebies work better?

If you’re a breast cancer survivor and are willing to dance wearing pink gloves, that’s all we’re looking for! You’ll need to sign a release form allowing us to use the footage of you dancing. But you don’t have to have any special dancing skills. We will have a choreographer there to teach you some simple routines.

OK, I am so not an early bird, but I will try to make it. At least I don't need to raise any money for this. Will try to log on in the AM, but otherwise look for me there. I actually have a tank top with my avatar, though it does not fit all that well. (The cookie gets stretched out, and looks puffy)
