Hi, everybody - I'm back from my post-lumpectomy visit, and i"ll be joining the re-excision crowd. My biopsy also showed DCIS, and she didn't get a clear enough margin on the first spot, so in about two weeks I'll do it again (hopefully no wires). And I get to have another mammo first, woo hoo.
See you all Saturday.
-
Is tomorrow's GTG still on ? I would love to join you guys. Maureen
-
Sorry I won't be able to make it afterall -- have a great time!

Lilah we will miss you but happy to have MBCR with us!
So we have kitchenwitch, Omaha, Crusader, Bonnie1jean, MBCR and me for 1 PM...did I miss anyone?
I keep calling the place McNeary's! Ha!!
See you at 1 PM....
God Bless!
-
Definitely can't make it today. Have a great time, all!
Hope to see you at the next one!
-
I'm not able to make it either. The weather has been crazy here, had no power for a while this morning, and a chance of major flooding. It's great living close to the beach! Have a drink on me, and hope to meet up with all of you at the next get together.
-
Sorry i missed it, I was hosting a dinner on the west side and with the weather the whole cross town thing did not seem like a good idea. We came back to LI to what looked like a war zone, we just got our power back. I hope to make the next one.
-
Hey, everyone, that was an awesome afternoon! Suzanne, thanks for organizing! Linda, Maureen, Carol, Francine, Eileen (am i forgetting anyone? Did I get names wrong??) - I loved meeting you all.

The river overflowed the main street in my town here in NJ and it closed the town down! We have power but there is flooding everywhere. I am rueing the day I chose to live in a house on a lake, let me tell you.
Sorry to miss meeting everyone -- hope to make the next gtg!

Well it was great to meet again and so nice to meet you bonniejean and kitchenwitch. Maureen and I were literally swept up by the wind and rain and blown to the train and bus depot's! We looked like Mary Poppins
-
Actually Angel organized, I just suggested the venue. I probably won't be doing any organizing till we get moved.
(Still no final word on the co-op)
-
Sounds like it was a fun meet up. We got hammered pretty hard in my neck of the woods, or should I say beach. Everybody's basements got flooded. The main road was flooded out overnight, and one of the two other main roads that are used to get in and out of town was closed for at least 24 hours due to down trees, power lines, and major flooding. Hoping the weather is better for the next meet up.

Hi ladies,
Nice to meet all yesterday and of course .. Carol and Jill at Neary's .Once again it was fun talking, eating and just hanging out. Yes I too got so wet just walking a block and a half to my car.
Thanks Eileen for your good wishes for my exchange.
Hugs,
Francine

So glad to meet all of you yesterday. You are a great bunch of women and it was helpful listening to all of you. We all have our own unique stories. I think we all probably had "fun" getting home. It took me about 2 1/2 hours to get back to Brooklyn because my subway went out of service due to tree branches falling on the tracks. Hopefully the weather will be better for the next GTG.

Here is the link to free cleaning if anyone has friends undergoing chemo at this time.
Hugs,
Francine

Just a quick hello( our internet is finally up & running again). It was fun seeing everyone (in spite of the weather)& meeting Jill & Carol. Hope everyone rode out the storm safely. Our town looks like a hurricane hit w/ trees uprooted & power lines down, signs knocked over.. We didn't have running water for a short while due to power outages. Now we are on a boil water advisary, so tonight we went out to eat. I think everyone in the county was out, there was over an hour wait everyplace we checked. One of the trees in my yard fell over into our neighbors yard, knocking down the fence. At least it didn't hit the house. They closed the schools for tomorrow because of no power. My son is very happy. 1 more week till spring!
-
Good luck on your exchange Francine!
My phone, internet and cable TV went out Sat night when a huge tree on my street fell - flattening two cars, destroying part of a house, blocking the street entirely and starting a small fire. Luckily my electricity stayed on, most other people on my street were completely w/o power for 2 days. My cable TV and internet (cable connection) just came back on. WOO HOOO! I'm addicted and was going a bit insane.
Sorry I missed you all, I was feeling sick (bad cold or flu type thing) and wasn't up to going out in that weather. Back to hitting my NyQuil....
Also got laid off on Friday, so a GTG was no longer in the budget. When it rains it pours, especially this past Sat! LOL.
-
Sweaty..too bad about being laid off and all your weather related problems.
Ladies my exchange went well today. I am in almost no pain just tired.
I am nearing the end of my tunnel and do believe I finally see sunshine.
Hugs,
Francine
-
Crusader....thanks for checking in!!! Good to see and hear you are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel...it is getting closer! Sleep tight!
HUGS!
God Bless!

Francine:
I'm so happy for you, its been a long road.
-
Francine, yeah for new Boobs and mostly yeah for no complications!
-
Congrats Francine!!!!!
Finally foobies!
-
Francine - glad to hear everything went well with your exchange.
As for me, I went for my follow-up visit at Sloan yesterday and finally got the results of the E-cadherin stain they did on my tissue. It turns out I don't have DCIS, but rather Pleomorphic LCIS. They recommend just monitoring closely and I've joined their research/study that they are doing on PLCIS. Also will be taking Evista. After 3 months of not knowing what my real diagnosis was, I feel like a giant weight has been lifted. I know this doesn't mean I'm totally free and clear, but at least I finally know what I am dealing with.
-
Carol Glad to hear that someone finally figured out a true diagnosis for you.
Thanks everyone for the good wishes.
Hugs,
Francine
-
Francine: Glad to hear your doing well & have no pain. Congrats!
Bonnie jean: A big hug & sigh of relief to you. Now that you have a definitive diagnosis it should get a little easier just knowing. Good Luck!
-
sweaty- *&*&*^%^**&*((, Ok I think that said it all to your former employer.
crusader- yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
bonnie- glad it's a definitive answer.
Hugs all
-
Francine! Yippee Squishy (to borrow a phrase from the EC thread) .... I'm sure you feel GREAT knowing you've leaped yet another hurdle.
Sweaty -- so sorry about the job -- that SUCKS. Sending out a cosmic GIVE SWEATY A BREAK.
Lilah
-
Flash....any news on your back surgery
Lilah- Thanks for the good wishes.
Sweaty- too bad about your job..
Hugs,
Francine
-
Nah, the job thing is a blessing for the moment. I needed some time to deal with my Momster drama. That's where it would be nice if the Universe gave me a break. Though a new job certainly would be an excellent thing!
