Tweety- sorry for the IOS (Incidence of suckage)
Sweaty- phew! wiping sweat from brow.
Apple- I hope it works out and a time opens up sooner.
-
Sweaty that's great!!! Congratulations!!!! I'm doing the happy dance for you and OG.
Prayers for the rest that all will go well...
-
Going to be in the city for oncology appt. Anyone want lunch at the thai restaurant by NYU cancer center? (34th and 3rd)
-
OG and Sweaty such good news, I'm sorry I was remiss in sending congrats.
The date, OMG I could not get away fast enough, We now refer to him as the guy most likely to kidnap and imprison a woman in his basement. I did not reply to his last text (on my way home from the date, isn't there a 3 day rule?) , so hopefully I won't hear from him again. Wow if he only knew I had one boob, would that be like an uber rejection, is there a support group for men who are rejected by girls with one boob?
Thank you everyone for your positive surgical scheduling thoughts.
Happy Super Bowl Sunday to everyone!!!!!!
-
Hi All! Just been a little busy w/ work & family. Next week I see my ONC & my GYN for results of my D&C & biopsy.
Hope to meet w/ all of you again in march.
-
MCBR we will be keeping good thoughts for you.
-
Good thoughts for you MCBR!
Wendy -- that date story is a riot! Although I'm sorry he was such a dud. Your story made me laugh (thanks for that).

the latest news "flash"
Saw onc at NYU today, doing a pet/ct on wednesday on park ave. May get stuck with the storm, we'll see. Once I have results, will be able to figure out the back surgery.
-
Well I admit I have not been to O'Neary's to check it out yet....I am counting on Cookiegal's exquisite taste and good luck...but role call now...
WHO CAN MAKE A MARCH 13TH AFTERNOON GTG...say 1 PM??
Please make yourself heard!
HUGS and God Bless!
-
Flash...hoping your tests go well this Wed. I am not convinced we will get alot of snow...then on to back surgery...knock all your issues down one at a time. Here is to healing!!
Bigapple....we need to hear your date story in all it's detail....sounds like it was one for the books?!! Save it for Neary's! Then we can all share our worst horror date story....every one has to have at least one....if NOT...make one up!
God Bless!
-
I should look at a calendar to confirm, but I'm pretty sure I can do March 13th.
Good luck on Weds, Flash!!!
I see BS for follow-up tom'w then PS for second follow-up on Weds. My formerly "healthy breast" is healing weirdly, I am freaked out mucho.
-
Posting again for the effect!!

Just need to know where O'Neary's is (if that's the where).
Lilah
-
Well Crap, Thanks to the snow I get to wait yet another week for the Scan. Dreck. I'd like to be over and done. So the saga continues................
Looks like it is a no for me for the GTG.
Sweaty- How was back to work???????
hugs to all
-
Flash, I was just thinking about you and hoping the storm would pass and you could have your scan.
Waiting stinks.
Possible new surgery date for moi, now May 19 with a different surgeon at MSK, day messes up birthday week but much better than waiting till November and wearing turtle necks all summer.
-
Oh Wendy that is wonderful that you got a better date!!!!! And you are currently scheduled the day after me -- how much does that rock?
Lilah
-
Is your's a day procedure, or is there a chance we will be walking the halls of the 10th floor together, in those attractive blue robes and non-slip slipper socks
-
Angel I am in for the 13th, thanks for planning and of course Cookie does have great taste so I am sure it will be fine.
-
Wendy -- I am PRETTY sure it's a day surgery... but will hopefully find out more next week when I see my PS. If it's not it would be fun to walk the halls together with our new boobs!
Lilah
-
Awww, Flash, I was just thinking about your scan! Crap-ola!
Back to work was painful. OUCH!!
Got my 8 page path report today. Interesting stuff, I wasn't expecting 8 pages though!!!!
See Karp tom'w, unless the snow reaches Act of God proportions.
-
Holy cow 8 pages Sweaty! Although I imagine a lot of it is (as mine was) a "description of the specimen" -- nice to have pieces of our boobs reduced to "specimens"
-
And I have a lot of specimen to describe!
(Oh right, back in the say that specimen was sitting happily on my chest! I wonder if I lost any weight? Just looking for a bright side.)
So, meanwhile, NYU seems to have some sort of proprietary ER/PR test, and both areas are 100% ER+, the PR am't varies considerably between the two areas. Interesting. I don't think either Beth Israel or Columbia had me near 100%!!!
Edited to add:
I'll have to read the path report a few more bazillion times, but I think I remember seeing ADH or fibrocystic change or, especially, LCIS in some of the margins. I'm hoping I'm wrong and it's just a 6am nightmare, but I'm somewhat freaked. Guth seemed to consider the margins clear (I hadn't yet read the path report when I saw her.). Does all that other stuff not count? But don't people generally remove LCIS surgically? I'd guess my next step surgically would be mast, and I'm just not prepared for that right now! Head is spinning..... Will have to read path report again. And again. And maybe email Guth if I'm still freaked out. Cancer SUCKS.
-
Isn't it interesting that you have to read these darn path reports at least 30 times before you actually begin to understand what they are saying? Is it an osmosis type of thing? I mean really...it isn't like we learn something different in between...we just keep reading and rereading until it finally sinks in! I bet I could pick up my path report today....a year after my original biopsy and understand something I didn't understand then....go figure....can drive you nuts!
Apple...May 19th....my birthday! Has to be a lucky date! Look how good it was for me!!
I just passed by my 1 year cancerversary date....and it could not have phased me in the least! I took note then said....move on! You are not taking another day of hope from me! So take that, cancer! (note: I do still miss my boobs....just not the cancer!)
Flash....POOH on the waiting!!! Just POOHY!!!! Hugs to you...
OK we have 7 so far wearing the green on Saturday March 13th....but I am keeping the roll call open!
God Bless Mother Nature....and you too!
