Texas Rose, so happy for you!!! done with the chemo. I remember when you were just getting yourself "ready for your first dose". Please God, it will all seem that was so long ago for you.
Rest, celebrate, rest and keep being gentle with yourself. You did it!
Arnie, so glad you are now deported, spoil yourself and let your fabulous family take care of you.
Faith, you look absolutely Fabulous, daaaaaaaaaaaaaling! And your girls, well, they get it from mom, oh and how about your DH, boy he's very handsome too! What a family! ps: My ds, ask about "Red White and blue dvd?.. no just music" today. It made me smile at the weekend, the kids were in and out of the garden into the kitchen/family room and we had your ditties 4 - and I was baking, we were signing, Red White and blue, America we love you, which might have sounded a wee bit odd to the neighbours?? made me smile. Lovely rythm..
EWB: Hope the meds are just what you need and you get an extra dose of rest before your next foray into the kitchen..xx
Am just a bit extra rundown and taxed this week and having to input a great deal to DH's new school, so I am sorry if I have missed a birthday, and opp, or a special occassion on here. DH's Occupational Therapist started with him this week, yea, finally!
My kiddos are just showering me with hugs and affection, and I just feel so blessed!
To all my dear loveys accross the pond, just want you all to know, am thinking of you and trying to keep up..nighty night.

Faith - you and your husband make a very, very handsome couple. I looked on the blog andonly found a few pictures - where are they - you can't post enough pictures for me! That wedding gown, close up, was stunning - I've never seen anything like it.
-
Oh, Faith, I just said this on FB, but thanks so much for sharing all those photos. Honestly, it was almost like being there. I sat here tearing up, just like the sentimental slob I am. What a perfect, perfect day for all of you. What a gorgeous, loving family you have.
Night night, Shiny!
Hugs to all of you dear bunnies.

Kathleen, it's worth joining Facebook to see the whole album of wedding photos Faithie posted there!!

CONGRATULATIONS ON DEPORTATION, FINISHING CHEMO, DAUGHTERS MARRIAGES ETC!
-
Thanks!!! Texas...here's a couple of pics of my port... since I had just gone through the prep for the colonoscopy last week...this seemed like a breeze...lol A bit sore this a.m. but nothing that I can't handle. They used the same incision site that they used to place it...so thankfully won't have another scar. My guys were a bit surprised at how heavy it was...but I wasn't!!!Not supposed to take a shower for 48 hours but looking forward to not have to shield that area anymore!
Hope all you dustbunnies are having a blessed day... xoxoxo
-
Yeah!!! Arnie!!!! That port looks better out of the body than "in" the body!! I'm so happy for you!! It seems like I was always bumping my port on something. ...bedposts when making beds, little kids bumping their heads, etc......I still find myself touching that area and just sighing with relief that it's gone!!!
Good morning to the rest of you bunnies!
Hope you all have a great day. I'm gonna have to break down and so a little housework and laundry. Not much though.....just a little
LOL

Arnie- It looks so big!!! I'm having mine out in my BS office and she told me she would just reopen the same scar also. I can't wait to see mine on the outside of my body. It hurts. It irritates me. I read so many people say they don't even know it's there. Believe me, I KNOW mine is there. Very uncomfortable. Mostly it's the location of mine. The chemo nurses hate where this BS puts them. On the inside and low on my right breast. They told me the other day that I don't have enough fat there to cover it well and that is why it bothers me- because it is so close to the surface. The nurse who does my labs on Mondays before treatment couldn't believe that I was getting it out so soon. They wanted me to leave it in for two months. I said absolutely not. I finally agreed to two weeks, but the 26th was the soonest the BS could get it in. Heal fast!! So happy for you that yours is out!! One off the chemo nurses told me they knew a lady who wore hers as a necklace after it was out. Yuck! I told her I wanted mine because I want to smash it with a sledgehammer!!
Thank you all so much for the good wishes. I feel like a new person this morning. Just having chemo done is such an awesome feeling!!! I'm entering the bisphosphonates trial so I have 3 more years of that. And of course all the wonderful followups, so as y'all know- it's not over. But chemo is!!!!
And yes, I cried when I rang the bell! Some of the nurses did too. It was such an emotional day.
Shiny- GREAT to see you!!
And to all who aren't on Facebook, like Kathi said, it's worth joining just to see Faith's pics! Gorgeous pics of an amazing day!! And don't forget to befriend the rest of us too!!
Coonie- Don't feel alone. I'm going to have to do a little housework today too. I am so far behind. Six months of chemo have put it about the place Mom was when she started the thread. I have managed to keep things fairly straightened up, but each room needs a deep cleaning. I never did my spring cleaning because I was recovering from surgery and then started cleaning. Now it's time for the fall cleaning! LOL Oh well, I don't have that kind of energy yet, but baby steps. I'm taking it a room at a time and doing what I can when I can.
Well, I've already forgot what was on the previous page and I can't go back, so sending good thoughts to all the bunnies!

Oh my lovely ladies...such good news today...wedding pictures, deports, chemo ending, singing, birthdays...all sorts of happy things to celebrate.
-
Wow that port looked quite large.I have huge veins so never needed a port but since chemo my veins in my arms are all dark and ugly now. Congrats to Mary as well I see she is also finished chemo. I won't see my onc until 21st so that when I get my pathology report.
This weekend is Thanksgiving here in Canada just ordered a fresh turkey from my butcher. My DD is busy planning a menu she has taken up cooking as her hobby and really loves it.Looks like i can basiclly sit back and enjoy my family this weekend. My father was disapointed that I couldn't fly in to spend the holiday with them but not with these tubes still in me.
Sorry ladies kind of rambling not in the best of moods today lets see if I can find a Thanksgiving photo.
-
Mum...I am sending loads and loads of gentle hugs, healing sunshine and lots of giggles and smiles to lighten your mood.
-
Thanks.

Well I spent most of yesterday on Facebook..... cropping photos from three different people's cameras & attempting to organize them into chronological order of all of the fun, add captions so you could figure out what was going on and then get the whole thing "tagged"...... it was fun & gave me a chance to re-live the whole thing -- from a distance.
I will be adding pictures and my rambling discourse to my blog as the week unfolds.
I MUST get to all of the various details that make my work/play/fun run. I've been summoned to jury duty & must beg for an exemption on paper etc etc. Proposals & paperwork and ferreting out invitations..... none of which is enjoyable.
Hugs to each & all.
(((((((((((((((((((((((((mum))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Mary--I don't blame you about getting your port out. I was the same way. Here's a picture of mine. I guess they all look about alike. Mine was right under my collar bone and right under the skin. It was really noticeable with certain shirts that I wore. Happy Deporting!
-
Happy Thanksgiving to our sweet Canadian sisters!
