Vivy, you MUST share the recipe for the chocolate mudcake......
Mumayan, please PM me your addy so I can send you some cards......The path will come back node negative!......I'm jealous!...My toes don't look half that nice!.....And the beach is positively gorgeous!....Where is this place again?.....
Arnie, hope the rads go fast for you.....
Kathleen, you know you all have an open invitation to my house.....
Faithy, have fun at the wedding......
Coonie, so true.....My dd is already asking to borrow the car to go to Milledgeville 2 hours away for the weekend!.....Yeah, right!......Let's do short trips for a while first.........LOL
Kak, hope all is well with you.....
And to all my sisters here, I hope you all know you are all very special to me......... -
We love you too, Lucy!
-
Okay - as of this minute there are six of us going to Vivvy's place - I figured I would drive over to Lucy's in Georgia then straight up to pickup EWB in New York continuing north to pick up KAK in Rhode Island and Arnie in Missouri. Then we jump on a plane to hop over to Shiny's place in England and finish our journey to Vivvy in Australia. If I left anyone out - let me know. Coonie I don't know where you live so just place yourself in geographically were you belong in the scheme of things. Anyone else want to go simply work yourself into the grand plan!
Barbe - you didn't just do good - you did great! $$$$$$$$$$$$$
Faith - go, enjoy, post lots of pics. Have plenty of "sun, fun and rum!"
Coonie - on September 30th you got way out of hand regarding house and yard work - slow down girlfriend. My cat - or any cat for that matter will get a sudden surge of energy and will run around the house, bouncing off walls, for no reason whatsoever. Is that what happened to you?
Mum - whoever invented pain pills should be sainted! Heal real soon. That picture on the beach makes me want to go right now. And you do deserve all the pampering you get and more.
Xpect - I have been on Plavix since 2003 and I can tell you I bleed from a paper cut - so be careful while on blood thinners. I'm sure you already know this.
Nancy - I always feel that, like a bear, I should hibernate because no matter what time it gets dark - I want to take to my bed and sleep.
Arnie - referrals suck - my PCP has to write a referral and an order to have anyting done - his staff is just overwhelmed! Frustrating, isn't it?
To every one my rattled brain can't remember ((((hugs))))
-
Mornin', ladies!!
You know, Cheryl, I'm a tad bit surprised that they're having you stay on the tamoxifen with this blood clot issue going. Typical health care/doc thing, though -- just throw more meds at the problem!! God forbid they should discontinue any!!
-
Barbe congratulations on a brilliant September. You done VERY good.
Nancy I'm with you on the darker evenings and not keen on the darker mornings either. I think I'll join Kathleen in hibernation.
Arnie those food pics are amazing. Hope your radiation consultation goes well.
All you Dust Bunnies have a wonderful weekend. xoxoxoxo
-
Once invited by a co-worker to get together one evening I begged off after he called my house to see if I still wanted to go out - told him no and he said it best - once those slippers go on, they don't come off! Cheers!
-
Kathleen...don't pick me up in Missouri!!!! I'm in Michigan...lol Sounds wonderful to me though!!! I'll be ready!!!
I had my consult today and the radiation doctor said that fatigue isn't one of the side effects... thought KAK would love to hear that... geesh! He was a nice enough fella just he's a male! Had to have an EKG too. Don't know when I start yet... a therapist is supposed to call me and set up my tattoos and cast. I don't wanna!!!
Hope all you dustbunnies have a blessed evening! xoxoxo
-
OMG, arnie. I'm speechless. Did the rad onc get his medical degree online?? Or maybe he's just in major denial.
You know, sometimes I think I'm too cynical or too tough on the docs, and then someone tells me something like that...
That's why we have to take care of ourselves, ourselves.
-
Sorry but the mudcake is off the menu!!!!!
My new oven (which we bought 6 months ago) has a smashed front door. I was lifting a cast iron roasting dish out of the oven and it slipped from my left hand (that side is now weaker since the mx) and smashed the whole front. So I did what I do best at the moment....cried!!!!
The moral of the story is that a heavy roasting dish will win every time over glass.
-
Jayne - I will pick you up when we get to the UK to visit Isabella then back to America - the cave is big enough to fit several.
Arnie: Oops - either Michigan or Missouri - its still on the way.
Kak - Amen, sister! Boy, did I find that out the hard way.
Oh no! Vivvy so sorry about your oven. I believe I would have cried too!
-
I am in the DC area, can I hitch a ride? Virginia to be exact, across the river.
Hugs for all - have a super weekend. Nancy
-
Kathleen, on your way up north from GA pick me up in VA. I want to got to Viv's too!
-
Kathleen, I hope you've got a vehicle that holds a lot of people! I'm just north of Philly, so it's right on the way between Washington and NYC!
-
Can I get a ride back to the States with you guys after the visit? Will be Summer here soon... and you know what that means... Summer and hot flushes don't mix!
-
Are you kidding? I'm bringing a bus! Another few stops is nothing. Then I am going to see if one of my sister's neighbor will let us borrow his plane and pilot, unless one of you has a pilot's license. Vivvgirl - of course we will pick you up but I think when we go back through the UK we might as well have a tour of Europe. The walking will do us good after our food tour.
-
Vivvy so sorry to hear about the stove!.....Just share the recipe here with the rest of us and we'll make that mudcake!.......
To all my dustbunny family, what a journey that would be if we could really make it!......Australia and England are both on my bucket list as are Ireland and Scotland.......My dear Grandfather was from Ireland and I would love to see his home country..........
-
Lucy - me too!
-
I have an unusual request from the Michiganders....What email servers do you use...For example I use Yahoo......I am trying to find John or Bonnie Sue Gutkosky in Holland Michigan......Bonnie Sue was and is my bestest friend from middle school...We lost contact over 15 yrs ago when she moved from her apartment and i haven't been able to find her since.....If any of you belong to PeopleFInders.com can you look them up?...I know they are on that site but I don't have a subscription so I can't get the information......Thank you all soooo much!!.........
-
Hi ladies!
No way I can catch up, so I'm just jumping in here. Did someone say road trip????? I want to go!! I am pretty sure that Coonie is in Louisiana, so swing by Texas and get me after you pick her up!! Cool!
Lucy, Ireland is on my bucket list too. I have really strong Irish roots on my mom's side of the family and I have always wanted to go there. Plus, it looks just gorgeous in pictures.
Well ladies, my last chemo is Tuesday. I can't believe it's finally almost here!! I've been so tired. I'm ready to drag my sorry butt across that finish line!
And Faith, following your wedding postings on Facebook. I hope everything is perfect!
Good job Barbe!

YEAH TEXAS... counting down the days for you sweetie!!! I'll be having my port out Tuesday...but will be thinking about ya!!!
KAK.... The doc and I didn't click... I can get along with just about anyone...but I felt like he was one of those that had to much knowledge and no common sense! He also has never experienced any of this himself soooooooooo how could he truly know???? Anyway, I thought of you when he was saying that about the fatigue...
Vivy... I would've cried too!!! To have a new stove and then something like that? eeeks!!
