wow Vegas is going to be here before I know it...
this weekend I'm going to a dragon boat festival with some gals from my breast cancer group...should be a fun weekend
But I'm sure I will be biking in my sleep : )
my big 24 hour race is only 2 weeks away whooo hoooo -
Deborah, My DH is wondering what I am laughing so hard about.....You have a memory like an elephant....OK you got me, I can jiggle my boobs with my hands.....LOL
Facial sheet wrinkles hum!!!! so that is what it is called....never knew it had a name....is that why you look sooooo good?
I wonder if Laura is still laughing.....
-
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
BAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
-
24 hour race.... MAN Sandy.. I am proud of you ! You must be in some real training huh..
-
Oh Linda, not much escapes me. But I will never forget how I squealed like a little girl when I first read your post on Exchange City last month.
-
Sandy's legs are going to look so darn good....I think I'll be wearing pantaloons at the pool.
-
no doubt Deborah... I used to be as athletic as she... and let me tell you... not only the legs rock... Sandy is probably the WHOLE package...:)
I second pantaloons!~
-
Guess what ladies......I'm coming to Vegas! I am turning 50 on September 25 and I am going to spend it with with the Ta Ta sisterhood! Not that I want to celebrate turning 50 - but celebrate being healthy now and the sisterhood.
Deborah ~ Let me know if you want to drive. I would love to. I just drove across the country...what's a little jaunt to Vegas.
Love ~ Peg
I will be wearing the pantaloons in addition to something to hide the turkey waddle under my arm.
-
OH PEG... I am so happy... I think that makes................... 20 of us...I look forward to meeting you.
JAX.. WHERE ARE YOU??????????????????????????????
-
Now I know Sandy will be biking in her sleep...24 hours on a bike .......Have you seen the you-tube video of the dog stretched out on the floor sleeping and he is dreaming and starts running like something is after him and gets faster and then finally jumps up and he runs into the wall.....very funny......hope this does not happen to Sandy.....yeah, I will not be exposing my body around Sandy either.....my body has changed a lot since I went into peri-meno and changed even more after full-blown meno....and I am very active.....it just happens to some women and it is out of our control.....I just do not want to lose my waistline!!!! argggggggggg :-(
Peg, glad you are going to Vegas....
Deborah, I do understand about the pillows.....until my nipps are healed I keep a small pillow wedged in my lower back so it keeps me from being flat of my back....I am a side sleeper.....could you not pack a couple of small pillows?
-
It is just 6 weeks till Vegas.......
I am in a a tough situation here....my DH sister is now in hospice care and they say she may have 6 weeks.....so do I gamble here with this situation.....DH says to make my plans and if she passes at that time then he would want me to still make the trip to Vegas..... :-(
-
Oh Linda....that's a hard one. I'm sure you probably want to be there for DH if anything happens. If you are concerned about the flight - sometimes you can get a refundable flight for not too much more. It may be worth looking into so that you have peace of mind to be able to make the decision that feels right if you need to.
-
Linda, I am so sorry that you are even faced with that situation. I will keep your family in my prayers. But what ever you decide to do we will all understand.
Tracey -
Linda,.. I PM'd you...
TRACEY... how is being back to work?? What is this about Hillbilly ville..???
Two questions.. how do you become a flight attendant? Can you only work 3 days a week and pick those days? Can you PM me about the income?
Ok. that was three...LOL... it is something Ihave though about.... and after the PAIN in my wrist from doing hair for 22 yrs... ..............
-
Linda - I hope you can make it but totally understand if you want to be by your dh's side during this time.
As someone else suggested earlier make your reservations with your tickets being refundable or sometimes you can get cheaper tickets by just allowing them to give you credit towards a future flight, however, some airlines will charge $100 to make a change in trip plans.
My husband had a trip planned for Morroco this Spring and had the airline tickets already purchased. He decided to not go because I was going through chemo, etc. All it took was for my oncologist to write a letter stating that I was going through treatments and the airline fully refunded his ticket.
Many airlines will give you a cheap discount rate if it is due to a family medical emergency. In other words if you come out and get a call 2 days later stating that your dh's sister is not doing well, you can probably change your return date without any extra charge.

jancie
Thanks for the info......I am still looking for a flight that will give me more time with you all. Right now I have found a flight where I would only have 2 full days....I think it is harder to find a flight that I like since I am having to fly across the country.....Wish I could just hop in my car and drive....I would like that mucho better.....
-
Linda.. PM me and tell me your airport you will fly out of and I will do some lookin for you too...

-
oh.. and pm me the highest amount you are willing to pay..
-
Linda,
You might want to consider buying traveler's insurance as well. It is generally pretty inexpensive and saves you the hassle of arguing with the airlines if you need to change your flight for some reason. Prayers to your DH's sister.

Laura-if you do become a flight attendant, will your name tag read "Laura" or "Wahooooo"? LOL
Only 6 more weeks til Vegas!!!!!!!!!
-
LOL kj bell...

.... Mellisa just reminded me last night that I had all my lymph nodes out and a flight attendant would NOT be my ideal job.. SHE IS RIGHT and I forgot..:) -
Are you really wanting to leave the glamor job of styling hair? Laura, we have the best job in the world. We get to help people feel better about themselves and not to mention the lovely elderly people we get to fuss over.....I feel as though I am in a ministry....
-
not WANTING to leave... I agree with you.. I just have terrible arthritis in my wrist... and I wonder how long.. I cannot get anything done about it as it is in the arm where I had ALL my nodes removed... ( LE)... so I can take pain pills.. ( cannot do that and work)... and I do have pain patches.. so that helps... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I can just own the place and not do hair.. but THAT is boring...LOL... I am just looking into things where I could work the three days a week I like to work.. and make a ton of money still....LOL...LOL....
-
Laura I so wish I could find that 3 day a week job also...
by Tues I'm hoping to have my airline tickets...
if I fly Allegiant which has a non stop flight I could leave Rockford IL ( which is about 2 hours away) and be there by 1:25pm but if I fly out of Cedar Rapids (which is almost 2 hours away but $40 cheaper) I won't be ther till 10:50pm. I did see flights out of Moline IL (which is only about an hour away) but it's not a non stop flight. So my question to my other gals what time are most of you getting there that already have reservations. I still haven't decided if I'm going to stay for 2 extra nights and just leave for the Grand Canyon from here or go home for 2 nights. I know 1 gal also mentioned staying till the 30th. I should be looking for airline tickets but wanted to check on my girls -
Im flying out of Wichita, KS on Allegiant Air at 3pm and arriving at 340pm on friday, and staying until Monday morning. I am excited about the trip but right now Im getting ready to have my exchange in 2 weeks....getting nervous!!!!
-
Hi girls! You all have been having such fun and I have been missing it all...dang it! Sad news for our family, our uncle passed away yesterday. They live in Canada. My hubby, son and gf, and father in law left today for our annual family reunion up there. We were hoping Uncle Joe would hold on until everybody arrived, but he just couldn't do it. :-( The girls and I had stayed behind because our youngest has a manditory band and dance camp. Now I am gonna take her out Thur and Fri and the girls and I will head up to Canada.
Anyway...some info on Susie. This is taken from her husband's status on facebook..."Gave Susie the day off to rest today. Heard she had more than a few visits yesterday. Thanks to all. The infection specialists found she had 4 types of mersa. They know of 2 of them (cant remember the names) the other 2 they have never seen. Leave it... to Sus to give them a challenge. They are planning to keep her there till they get answers. Aurora is doing so-so. We both have our times." Now he just posted this..."time for me to get to bed. another rough night with Aurora crying herself to sleep because mommy's not home and daddy can't fix it."
Please keep them in your prayers.
-
JazzyGem - Sorry about your loss. My sympathies are with you and your family. Also, so sorry to hear about Susie. Poor kid -she has been through so much.
Sandy- I am arriving in LV at 1:30 pm on Fri and leaving on Mon.
-
Sandy.. I arrive in Vegas at 8:30 am Friday
Leave Monday at 6pm.
I hope I am not the only one staying so long...lol
-
I might try to go with the flight where I can get there at 1:25
so long... I say stay 2 more days w me : )
I just got done with my 7 mile run now time for a cool down walk
I just had to stop home to get another drink
-
I just got an email saying our flight schedule has been changed. Susie, DV8Q, Clare, and I will be arriving Fri at 11:18am. We leave Monday at 8:20pm.
I haven't heard from DV8Q in awhile I hope she is alright!!
another thing about susie, I'm sure she won't mind me posting this....her husband lost his job Monday...just a day before Susie went in for surgery. Please keep them all in your prayers.
Looks like we have to go to Seattle to get a passport for My oldest daughter. Urgh!! Then off to Canada.
Thanks everybody for your kind thoughts and prayers they are greatly appreciated!!!
HUGS!
