Just wondering how many others are planning on staying longer than Sept 28th
My Grand Canyon trip starts the morning of the 30th
weird thing I called to see about getting a room for the 28 & 29 and it was $40 cheaper if I didn't use the code
So if anybody is making reservations 1st ask room rate than try it with the code and see which is cheaper
-
Sandy... the room rate is cheaper Monday.. Tuesday.. Wed.. etc.. I already tried your idea..LOL.. I am skeptical by nature.. so I ask for a room for 4 ( like our room) and then asked how much,, it was higher on Friday and Saturday than the code room fee.. but the same on Sunday..LOL...
BTW.. I am not leaving Vegas till 6 pm I think Monday... so I will be around longer on Monday...\
You are going to have SUCH a great long trip.. how fun for you!!!!!!!!!
Rachel.. you crack me up... spoken like a true NY gal! You are coming to Vegas, right?
Marilyn.. I wish you could have had your surgery the week AFTER VEGAS!
-
Marilyn-I don't want to take your spot, but if it doesn't work for you, I will, lol. Really, that was nice to offer, but I do hope you can make it. The more the merrier! My daughter lives in Henderson, so if push comes to shove, I could stay with her. (But it wouldn't be the same). I have a friend that lives in Chandler and she says Sedona is her favorite place to visit!
Sandy-I too am staying till the 30th, but don't know if it will be at the Mirage.

This is pretty amazing... Julia Child and contemporaries in Time Magazine 1974 talking about their mastectomies... 25 years ago

Oh and she says "topless"!!!!
-
Laura when I asked about the 28th and 29 they said $105
than when I mentioned the code they said no rooms for the 28th and $145 for the 29th weird not sure why that is
-
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm sounds shady....
-

-
I sure do hope this Clonidine gets my hot flashes under control.....especially since Laura said on the exchange thread that it is yucky sleeping next to someone sweating....I get damp at night when I have a flash.....and why Laura do you wear boxers and tank top to bed if you do not sweat? I personally do not care what you wear to bed just as long as you wear something....I usually wear a tank top and panties....but I will bring my shorty PJ's to Vegas.....Sounds like we better have lots of extension cords and fans in our room.....LOL
Lisa, love the idea of a Wild West road trip.....have a great time
-
So, Linda... extension cords are for fans.. RIGHT??? LOL...
Honey.. I have been in a salon for years... with ladies.... sleeping together in hotels ( trade shows) . I can sleep with anyone.. ... Boxers and a tank are MUCH cooler than long night gown or full Pj's..
I just wanted to worn ya'll...:)

Vegas is the start of a longgggggggggggggggggggggggggg friendship of ladies...wahoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo..
It is so close now.. how exciting....
-
HEHEHE Laura
What else would the extensions cords be used for except for the 100 fans we will have blowing over a bunch of HOT and Sweaty women.....
Hey, you watch too many movies....women don't wear all those fancy things to bed....what is a long night gown? yuk LOL that makes me hot just thinking about it.....If you will feel better I will get me some boxers and a tank top......
I just don't want an ice cold room....don't like being COLD especially getting out of the shower....maybe I should bring a fan and a heater.....
-
HEHE... I also HATE taking showers and getting out and being FREEZING!
Ok... if I may say this on a non spiritual thread....
I want to ask the Lord.. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY are meno women on fire one moment and FREEZING the next????????????????????????????????????????????????????/
Do you think we will ask this in heaven some day....???????????????
-
Linda..~ feeling shy~
I do not watch Tv or too many movies...hehe
I DO WEAR THOSE sexy things to bed..they really are comfy and are NOT HOT... this is why I warned my Vegas roomies...hehe.. I will not wear the teddy or camie.. but I will be in a tank and boxers... ( more modest I suppose...heheheheehehehe)
Love you Linda!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
thanks 4 the laugh on the extension cord
I look forward to rooming with you gals in Vegas : )
Plus meeting everyone else -
Sandy.. we will NEVER forget it... NEVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wahoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo -
I am hot natured at night so I typically sleep as close to the A/C vent as I can. I also have the hot flashes and then get really cold so I throw my blanket on and off of me at night. So if that is a problem I will just sleep on the floor. Of course I do have some heavy knockout sleep aids and if I take one of those I don't even move.
I just wear an XL T-shirt and underwear to bed. PJ's are too warm for me. As long as I have coffee in the morning first thing then I don't get cranky when I wake up. Never have been a morning person and can't hold a conversation until my third cup of coffee. I have problems thinking when I first wake up so I am usually really quiet for the first 1/2 hour.
I will have my last rad treatment on September 25th before I get on the plane. I have 6 weeks of rads and I start this Friday.
-
I left for Ca a week ago today and just returned last night. We had our Cookie Lee Fashion Week and the new Fall/Winter catalog was released! it is HOT!!! anyway....Susie had her surgery today at OHSU. Here is a report from her sister:
"I just got an update from Bryan, my sister's husband, about her surgery today. Susie was at OHSU by 7:30am. They began preping her for surgery at 9:00am. She came out of surgery at 5:30pm. Her doctors said the first part; taking out the mesh tha...t was used for the hernia, went quick. Then they put in a different kind of material that her body won't reject. And finally they attacked the infection that Susie has been plagued with since the beggining of all this. The doctors feel confident they got all of it out. There was a "pocket" of infection inside her and that is why she was never completely healed. The surgeon had to cut all of it out and any damaged tissue in and around it; as well as clean the entire area. So it all went well, quicker than they anticipated. The surgeon thinks she may get to go home in a week....Let's keep our fingers crossed."
Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
HUGS to all!...I am OFF once again tomorrow taking my daughter and her girlfriends to an indian reservation warm springs resort. We will be camping in a teepee....wish me luck! We will be back Friday!
-
((((((Janice)))))) Here is to FULL support for you through rads..! If you wanna chat about the rads.. or just wanna blow off steam.. pm me.. I did them too and it went pretty fast... oh... and I am sure no one will make you sleep on the floor...hehehehehehehehehehe
((((((((SUSIE)))))))))
-
Jazzy-are you going to Kah-Nee-Ta?? We were there in June and the kids LOVED it! We did not sleep in Tee-Pees, but camped in motorhomes with several other families. Have a great time!
Other ladies---if there is anyone on this thread who DOESN'T have hot flashes and spend their nights taking covers off and on, I'd love to talk to you just so I can remember what it is like! Menopause stinks!
-
good one Tracy......LOL... good one!!
-
The only thing I am having some concerns about is whether the hotel will have enough pillows for us. I need three of them at the very least! Peggio and I talked about possibly driving to Vegas and if only for the fact that I could bring my four king size down pillows, it might be worth cancelling my air reservations. So if I do fly, the first thing I do when I get into the room is order more pillows from housekeeping.
-
OH MY I am beginning to think I am rooming with some really weird people.....
one with a pillow fettish
someone who has to wear boxers and a tank to bed
and one who will probably be biking in her sleep......
-
ROFLOL ROFLOL and spitting out my water....ROFLOL Linda...
ps... I am not sleeping with Deborah.....she might confusing me for a pillow and spoon me...
-
Oh yeah....and THIS from the one who said this about her implants???
"...but I can make them jiggle using my hand. I can make them really move around a lot...."
How many weird people in this room, eh Linda, hmmmm?
Well, the pillows are to KEEP me from sleeping on my side and so spooning is not an option Laura, sorry....
-
ROFLOL............... ROFLOL.. I gotta go find dh and take a walk... get off this PC.. you all are a riot tonight.................ROFLOL
-
.....no really, ever since my surgery in November, I have slept with one pillow centering the middle of the bed. I started doing this primarily so that my husband would not turn over and cold cock me in the chest in his sleep. He tosses and turns so much. But I also wanted to keep my left arm elevated [the cancer side] and it keeps me primarily on my back but allows me to sleep a little on my side. Without this "pillow guard" my natural inclination is to lie on my stomach. Stomach sleeping is bad for my back and causes major facial sheet wrinkles. The older I get, the longer it takes for the sheet creases to go away during the day. Also, it defeats the purpose of using night cream. Oh, am I high maintenance or what?
