Estepp-I am coming, so bump your # up to 19! Have my plane tix, just waiting to see if anyone else is coming that needs a room mate! Unfortunately, I am the only one out of my original "foursome" that will be attending. I arrive Friday around noon, and am staying until Wed., my daughter goes to school at UNLV, so I will have an extra 2 days to visit her. Has anyone posted this invitation on the get together thread? I know there are ladies in Vegas who might want to come for the get togethers. (They had a Vegas post on the get together thread).
Can't wait-Karen

-
No Tat for me but would love to see some of you get them!! I am getting so anxious for the trip. My hair will be longer, I will get it colored and hopefully it will be long enough to barely, just barely - very minimum trim the ends. Getting my hair done is going to be one of the highlites of the trip for me!!!!
-
No doubt sister... I am desiding right now... do I color.. or just be natural...
I am natually REALLY REALLY dark headed... level 2 ( shade before black)... but... I have been blond many times...LOL....
Who knows.. Right now my hair is 2 1/2 inches... so... by Vegas it will be 3 1/2 inches.. WOW..
LOL... I have never in my life had short hair... this is kinda... BLECK... but also.. kinda liberating....hehe
-
Laura - I would skip the color but my hair came back GRAY!!! I tried the colored mousse today - it was a dirty blonde color and it sure looked better than that gray stuff I had. What I like is that it rinses out in the shower.
Also found out today that even though I was sweating at the barn - I didn't have colored sweat down the back of my neck.
-
Laura,
I get up your way occasionally! I can't wait to meet you in Vegas.
Tracey, Im planning on doing the tat thing on sunday so I can enjoy the pool saturday. Its going to be fun! I have my exchange on Aug 31st and Im kinda worried my PS wont like the idea of me getting a tat so soon after surgery but I would think it would be fine.

First - I hope you don't mind me barging in...
I just had to post...WOW! You girls are going to have the time of your lives! How exciting... I peak in here every now and then. And finally your get together is right around the corner! Look out Vegas the ta-ta's are coming! lol
My October 2005 chemo group here at bco (The Rock-tober Chemo Girls - 17 of us from all around the world) met 2 years ago here in Chicago and last year in Vegas and next month in Seattle. We had SO MUCH FUN!
But anywho... you may have "talked" about this...but if not - think about renting a poolside Cabana for the day. We did and it was awesome. We even had our VERY OWN CABANA BOY! lol I always wanted one of those! lol lol lol It's affordable if you all pitch in.
This is at my house in 2007 - we named it ROCKTOBER Fest:

Vegas last year:

Me and Paula...the youngest in our group (recently dx'd with multiple mets...please pray for her!)

HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY TA-TA TRIP!
-
POOLSIDE CABANA: That sounds like a great idea. Just love your photos.....
TRACEY: TATTOO: Okay, so tell us where it will be and what it will be....
-
LAURA THANK YOU !
I am so happy for you all! I hope this group will get together once a yr too....:)...You are so lucky to have met those great ladies and have stayed close...
DO YOU HEAR THIS TA TA's... This is "Our" group..... Every year somewhere... we just have too..:)
-
Laura - no special implants for me - I decided to go with the 800cc's.
You ladies have got to rent the cabana and have your own cabana boy!!!! How fun - I am so jealous

-
Fabulous women, fabulous photos, I am definitely praying for Paula. Are you all wearing the same charm on your necklaces?
I am hoping the next TaTas reunion will be in NYC...
-
LauraGTO-Thanks for the pictures! It is nice to see the sisterhood so close!
Estepp-You do need a tshirt that says Wahoooooooooooooooooo! While glancing thru the posts, everybody knows your posts just by that tag line. No one even has to look at the name lol!
-
Deborah: What a great new avatar!! You look terrific girl!
My friends rented a cabana for the day and it was great. It comes with service..as in bar and food.
It came with food (included- a tray of fruit and something else). It was shaded, and it had a TV in it. It's a great deal- I think it was only $100 or $150. for the day. It was at the Mirage or the Bellagio, I can't remember. Go for it. JUDY -
Thanks girls!
Rachel - You are very observant! YES - we are wearing rhinestone pendant necklaces. I bought one for each of the Rock-tober sisters! The elephant has become our mascot - we are the elephant Rocktober sisters... elephants are known to surround each other during sickness - I gave each of the girls a necklace to remind them to support and surround us all throughout the years!
-
LauraGT, LOVE the photos!!
Teresa, pool sat and tats sun sounds good!! YAAAAAAAYYY!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok on the top of my foot in BEAUTIFUL writing I want the words LIVE STRONG with a pink ribbon. I want it written from left to right facing me so that I can read it clearly every time I look down and always be reminded to LIVE STRONG!! Took me a while to know what and where but I think I got it!
Vegas is gonna be a BLAST, and remember ladies, what happens in Vegas...........you got it!!!
Tracey
-
Well, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!! Definitely! But you won't be caring what anyone says anyways, TRACEY, because you will be knowing that you will LIVE STRONG. I like your tat idea. I have a dozen or so LIVE STRONG t shirts, because I just LOVE the way I feel when I put them on. WOO HOO! It's a great feeling!
I vote for CHIPPENDALES at the Rio.

Hey Ladies, Lifetime TV is looking to honor BC survivors who are also army wives who give back to their communities by either helping other survivors or giving back in other ways. Candidates must be army wives and they must live in San Diego, LA, Nashville, Charleston, NC or SC. So if you or someone you know meets this criteria please contact casting director Lynne Spillman at l.spillman@verizon.net
-
Tracey... I'm just sayin'................the top of the foot is one of the most painful spots to get a tat.... so be prepared sis.....LOL..... I'm just sayin'....
Ladies.. Hubby is on yet another mini tour...LOL... so I will visit again tomorrow night....
off to have more fun fun fun.....
-
Well, if the sisters can handle tats on their ta ta's, why not tats on the tops of feet? Sounds like a piece of cake, considering . . . Besides-----WE ARE STRONG!!! I can't wait to see Tracey's new tat.
Have fun on your trip Laura
-
Tracey,
Great idea for a tat!
I definitely love the idea for a cabana! And as far as a yearly get together...I second the idea for NYC! I love that city and the end of september is a good time to go.

Hi Sista's!! OMGosh....I had to read like 3 pages to catch up. SO sorry to hear that some of our TA TA Sista's aren't gonna make it.....WAH
I'm all for trying to do a once a year reunion. That would give us plenty of time & notice to save & make plans to go,then if it doesn't work out,we know there would be next year. Speaking from experience- a TAT on the foot does hurt, there is no fat, but if your at all ticklish on the feet, be prepared LOL LOL I'm just letting you know. I've got my Pink ribbon on my left ankle....I'm addicted to TAT'S, so would love to see about getting a tiny one to remember our 1st reunion.
I broke down & bought a swim suit-a 2 piece. Hubby gave his approval. So hard to find one that doesn't come with built in bras. This one I can pull off. I have to wait another year before reconstruction due to these infections.
My menu has had a few added courses-my Onc called late Friday with his advice stating that the Infection diease specialist I saw over a year ago should be on board & that I should see him before the surgery, then have a port put in or a pic line due to the amount of time I'll be staying. Like most you I sure you all have problems getting IV's placed if your ports have been removed. Now mind you all this is taken place around 3 on a Friday afternnon...so calls were made & now I'm waiting to hear from my surgeon here where we go with this new concerns & advice, I've only a week to take care of it. THANK YOU for all the Hugs & prayers

Love you all, continued Prayers to all & I'll be ROCKIN with ya in VEGAS!!!!
Take care Chow XOXO Susie

bumping up
-
Getting closer ladies.........
.. are we getting excited yet?
-
I may have to bow out of going to Vegas with your gals. Friday I am flying up to see my 96 year old Mom, my bro and sis. I have not seen Mom since before dx and we are NOT telling her I had BC. She is a 47 year survivor. She is not "sick", just old and frail. I want to see her at least one last time while she knows who I am.
-
TRACEY! That is the perfect place for a tattoo. I have been wondering where I would want to put one myself! But won't that be a painful place for a tattoo? I am the consumate weenie when it comes to pain and whoa...that sounds like I would need general anesthesia for a tat on my foot.
JUDY: I wonder how many that cabana accomodates? We are probably going to only have - what.....around 20 of us?
-
Okay, I just called the Mirage and the cabana "for the summer months" is $350.00 per day for the main pool and $1,500.00 per day for the "all adult" pool. I said, "WOW, what about the $150.00 a day cabanas? She said, "oh, that would have ended in March." YIKES! We had better find a SPONSOR!!!! Maybe we SHOULD call Oprah!!!
-
Doesn't anyone have a player card for the Mirage? If you call the "casino guest" line, they would help if you are a player...Otherwise how about the group contact. Tracy?
The cabanas hold about 6 maybe 8? But, again, if you are close friends.....I know you are all going to have such an awesome time...sigh...
JUDY
-
Judy.. WHY is it again you cannot come... a big anniversary?
Deborah... that is high... maybe just sunscreen....LOL..............
-
Maybe if we plan the cancer card we can get a discount??? I only have 1/2" of hair so I still look like a cancer patient

I am so excited! I have been telling everyone about my trip to Las Vegas and all of the wonderful women I am going to meet. Rads start on Thurs so that will preoccupy my mind until the trip, at least the time goes by much faster if you have something to do! I have been in a holding pattern for 5 weeks now and have been going nuts.
-
I have a players card for the Mirage. I will call and see if I can get it for less.
