Got up on the last day of voting and Jarred the Man Fan is 75 head (he has 1162, we have 1087). I pictured him sitting up all night clearing his cookies and revoting. Well, winning like that is very sad for the man-fan. Help me win legit and give my son the thrill of a lifetime! Please forward this to anyone who can click and vote today....Let's help one of the good guys win for once!! By some miracle, can we catch him and pass him by 5p ? Help!

Michael Jackson was such a talant I always thought he would end up in Vegas and i would of been one of the fans that shelled out big bucks just to see him live.My son had all of his albums.
-
Barbe, last night they had many of Michael's past performances on the TV and when they showed him singing ABC as a kid I told DH, I had that on a 45, played it by the hour. I was reminiscing, DH was thinking.. you should have saved the 45. All very sad, feel very much for their families today
-
Also nearly the same age as MJ... totally had a crush on him since I was like 7... and so was he... I was at the Grammys (NYC, with the Stones) when he kissed Lisa Presley- it was weird weird weird.
And of course I was really saddened that he did all that to his face and got so terribly creepy.
But no one seems to be talking about how he's not only left his children with no parent, but also in massive debt. What happens to those kids now?
Just so sad all around. I am seeing Hell everywhere these days.
And Farrah.
But I did get some great news today... my pal who was DX while I was in RADS had her lumpectomy last week, her sentinel node is clear and her margins are clear! YAY YAY YAY!!!
Also, does everyone know the Vitamin D3 scoop?
-
My Dear Sista's-THANK YOU for all the (((LOVE)))!!!
Holtbolt-I got in a few vote's-Hope it goes your son's way

I got the chance to Meet Michael Jackson about 20 plus years ago. It was right before his "OFF THE WALL" album came out & all those surgeries. I was on a Dance tour & we were in Cal. at Magic Mountain just relaxing, the rest of the group headed off to listen to a band who played the original song "More than a women" from Saturdaynite fever & I was Dancing to the beat slowing behind them-then I saw him, he only had 2 body guards-I tried to yell at the other girls, but he was in front of me to fast. He told me he liked my moves-"GUSH GUSH" I wished him best of luck in his singing career & told him that he was a wonderful Dancer(duh Susie) anyway's I got his autograph & have kept it ever since in a scrap book.
As far as I go.......got a call Wednesday, placed me on 2 more antibiotic's,that makes 3 now-all at high doses. Some of my family member's want me to just go into the hospital & be done with it because we've tried this before with the med's-one is a new antibiotic, so want to at least give it till Monday. As much as I brag about the Hood River hospital staff, I'd much rather spend the time at home with my daughter & keeping her busy with summer fun & give the med's a chance. Am suffering from extreme high blood pressure...was 158 over 98 yesterday, did not feel right, then today at 138 over 80, at least it is coming down, but really feeling out of sort's.
Will keep all of you posted-Thank you again to all of you XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO(((HUGS))))
Take care Chow XOXO Susie

Susie, great post! That autograph would be worth a bomb, as it was Michael while he was still Michael!
As for the blood pressure, that's not really too high at all. I take 5 blood pressure medications and have been 214 over 112, documented by a hospital ER! (That was really bad, but I still didn't even get to see a doc!) My normal blood pressure with all these meds is your high one of 160 over 100. It is a dangerous disease, high blood pressure for sure, but don't let those numbers scare you. As the tech said after me bleeding all over the mammogram machine said, 'Don't be worried, be concerned.' High blood pressure usually has no symptoms and worrying about it just adds to the stress your poor body is already going through! Pain and distress can make it higher as well. Your body is fighting so hard right now....you hang in there!
-
Barbe-Thanx, I feel better after hearing from you. My Dad has high blood pressure, but has a handle on it. The Dr. yesterday told me just to keep any eye on it & how I feel, thought it might have been the med's, he said no...it's the infection-so a wave of relief.
Been watching all the special's of Michael's video's, in between Aurora's cartoon's!! I have to brag here....I choreographed a Dance routine to "Smooth Criminal" with about 20 student's all in black & white suit outfit's & I was in all white suit, took some of Michael's moves & the rountine took 1st at a Dance competition. His Music & Dance will live on!!
There hasn't been alot about Farrah, but she put out a wonderful story on her journey thru Cancer with a good friend of her's taping every moment-it was very touching, did any of you get to see it? It aired about a month ago. Gave hope & showed her strength & what she went thru. Farrah was very inspiring-she'll be missed also!!
Wishing everyone a great weekend
Take care Chow XOXO Susie -
Laura I won't miss seeing my tatasisterhood gals

Rachel: What about the Vitamin D scoop? I have been doing a lot of research on this as I was diagnosed three weeks ago with severe Vitamin D deficiency, I am on a prescription regimen - 50,000 units once weekly for 12 weeks. I had all of this testing done because I wanted an explanation for my fatigue, exercise intolerance and severe osteoporosis which came on very quickly. Because of the recent studies of the Vitamin D deficiency link to breast cancer, this very simple blood test could be included when we have presurgical lab work for all of our various procedures. Especially if you live north of Latitude 40 - you are at increased risk for Vitamin D deficiency, as Vit D synthesis does not occur during the winder months at latitudes higher than 40 degrees. You can see where you state lies here:
http://www.bcca.org/misc/qiblih/latlong_us.html
Of course I live in Southern California - I have plenty of access to sunlight. But I also wear SPF 30 sunscreen every day, rain or shine and I cover up and wear hats when working in the garden. An SPF of "8" can reduce the Vitamin D synthesis by 95%.
-
Deborah---My BS ran the test when I first met her. My D3 was 30 in November, considered sufficient, but my docs want it at 80, I take 2000iu/day, and sit in the sun with no sunscreen (except for face) for 15 minutes 3-4 times a week--pretty much the entire amount of time we get sun in Portland! I've managed to bring it up to 60 since I began doing this in March, so it can be achieved.
I sure hope you all post pictures of the trip!

whippetmom- I thought that Vit D q was on another thread- oops. Color me lost on BC.org... OK... first there is this AWESOME video presentation from the head of Breast Cancer at Sloan Kettering:
http://www.mskcc.org/mskcc/html/92358.cfm
He speaks about the Vit D discovery. So I asked my ONC, also at Sloan Kettering and he said:
there is no harm in supplementing
with Vit D and regarding cancer prevention it may do a lot of good! If
you want to test your levels we can or you can just take the
supplemental Vit D.
And he sent along the research, I will repost here the conclusion (anyone want the rest, lemme know)
RESULTS/CONCLUSIONS: It is projected that raising the minimum
year-around serum 25(OH)D level to 40 to 60 ng/mL (100-150 nmol/L) would
prevent approximately 58,000 new cases of breast cancer and 49,000 new
cases of colorectal cancer each year, and three fourths of deaths from
these diseases in the United States and Canada, based on observational
studies combined with a randomized trial. Such intakes also are expected
to reduce case-fatality rates of patients who have breast, colorectal,
or prostate cancer by half. There are no unreasonable risks from intake
of 2000 IU per day of vitamin D(3), or from a population serum 25(OH)D
level of 40 to 60 ng/mL. The time has arrived for nationally coordinated
action to substantially increase intake of vitamin D and calcium.
And you got tested and have a severe Vit D deficiency? Holy cow! Belly up to the Vitamin D bar gal!

HoltBolt- MAZEL TOV and CONGRATULATIONS WOOHOO!!!! I sent you some tips for backstage from my misspent years working with the Rolling Stones in PM...

-
holtbolt, that is great that your son won the contest. I would have loved to see his face as you told him.
To all, I am planning on going to Las Vegas for the TA TA reunion. I have not posted on this site before and have had limited contact with a few members on this forum. I will keep reading and catching up on everyone.
Traceyz, I will touch base with you in a couple of days regarding my reservation.
Sending all plenty of (((((HUGS)))))) and wishes for a happy and healthy tommorrow.
Heymoose
-
Wonderful Heymoose! I hope you can make it!
-
RachelIBC - Thanks for the link to the presentation from Sloan Kettering. That was very interesting and quite informative.
Holbolt - So glad your son won. Thumbs up!
-
Holbolt, WOOOOHOOOOO wish I could have seen his face when you told him.....congrats!!!!!
I just heard on the news that airfare was going up!!!!!!!!! I have been waiting to book my Vegas flight til after the holiday so now I wonder if that is a wise thing to do.....thought after the holiday the prices would go down........ :-(
special request
I posted this on the Prayer topic but thought I would reach more people by posting it here also: My sons friend Jordan 19 yrs old had a real bad 4-wheeler wreck late Sunday and the docs originally told his parents that he probably would not make it through the night because of severe head injuries but he is still with us and prayfully that is a good sign. We have known this boy and his parents for a long time and they are in terrrible shape. Please during your prayer time remember Jordan and his parents and also all of this boys friends. There were so many young people at the ICC waiting area yesterday. I just cut Jordan's hair last week and he is a super young man.....pray for a full recovery with no lasting brain damage. Thanks to all my sisters.....
-
Prayers have been sent up for Jordan and family. I too have a request: A friend, who was widowed at a very young age, who found a new love and married him, (he also was widowed at a young age), has been dx with Stage 3 lung cancer. Her name is Amy.
-
You know, I think I will be sitting next to Rachel at the pool in Vegas. I'll bet she has some stories to tell. So is Keith Richards as handsome in person as he is in his photos? Man, that is one good looking dude.
-
Linda: I will be praying for Jordan. What a tragic accident. I just cannot fathom what the family must be going through....
-
Prayers going out to Jordan and his family. What a horrible thing for a family to go through. My heartfelt wishes for the best recovery possible. Praying for you too Linda...it is very hard to go through this for you and your son too.
leftyAKAnancy - Prayers going out to Amy and her husband too. No on deserves to go through that twice!
-
Prayers for Jordan and Amy. Please keep us posted.
