Jazzy and Susie--So glad you both had some good news.  I'm sending out healing and peaceful thoughts to you both!  Just remember that the time you sleep is when your body heals itself.  So...SLEEP!!!!!!!

Susie you are crazy beautiful (as in so beautiful its crazy, not you crazy).  That's pretty darn amazing, your surgeon has a sense of humor!  Come to think of it, if the surgeons start getting into this, they could top any stunt we dream up...  Its great they found the source of the infection.

    Heal well ladies!

Um Rachel I don't think you understand... I LIVE ON THIS COUCH!  I eat and sleep on this couch.  I haven't slept with my hubby in weeks!  Trust me I don't do a thing!  My mom came to visit today ...she said she just had to see if I was ok.  Then she left.  LOL  She lives an hour and a half away ...that's what moms do I suppose.  We sat outside while she was here and I kept falling asleep.  My daughter Jenn said that I kept answering my mom...but she knew I was asleep.  LOL  How rude!  Anyway my girlfriends are having a party for me tonight and I cannot let them down!  My dh is taking me and a girlfriend will be bringing me home.  Light snacks and cocktails will be served.  :-)  I will crash when I get home.

    Off to the shower!!

Susie  YAY!!!  Now stay on your couch and heal!

I got the word that my last Herceptin is July 16, so I should be recovered and ready to PAH TEE with all you gals in Vegas.   I can get the danged port out also.

Jazzy, my recliner is my best friend.   For one of my birthdays a few yrs ago, my DH and DS got me a recliner and called it the queen's chair.  NO ONE was allowed to sit in it without my permission, even my Mom.

Good to know you are Cookie Lee girl.  I used to have a neighbor who sold it and I could get my fix at any time but then she moved.  Bring some cute stuff to Las Vegas and I'll line up to buy!

My beautiful Sista's- I know that some of you have children & they go thru this with us. I have a 5 year old daughter who has been my strength and went thru everything I did these past 3 years. It all started with the accident & loss of my Mother, her NANA back in late Oct. 06. Aurora was 2 3/4,then I almost died 2 month's after that & we were seperated for 2 weeks due to my hospital stay.  She has been a fighter right beside me & I'm mentioning this now because she fineally needed help in dealing with her feelings-would break down & cry during pre-school after I dropped her off & not be able to stop.  I was scarred to pieces that I would make a mistake, say the wrong thing,we alway's explained mommie's owies to her, that NA NA was in Heaven and loved her deeply & kept her schedule normal-we had her in pre-school the very next day after my mother was killed & then took her treat or treating 2 day's later(my Mom had made her costume :) ). Aurora has been seeing a therapist for about 2 months now & is doing much better. The Dr. said she had separation anxiety-rightly so..I recieved wonderful new's today after her appt. which I teared up...The Dr. explained that Aurora is a wonderful/caring/well developed/extremely smart child & that Aurora's pre-school teacher has expressed the same when she was contacted. What got to me the most is that she felt both Bryan & I were making the right choices in how we handle all my medical situaiton's.  I want to be the best Mom that I can & Aurora has been the very reason I get up each day, don't get me wrong, I love my Hubby dearly, but I'm usually the 1st person to see her when she wakes up & the last person to see her when she goes to sleep. There is no book out there to tell us how & what to say & do when we get hit with all of our Medical problems-so we do the best we can.  I just wanted to share this cause it really made my day to hear I'm making the right choices with my daughter!!  Thanx for listening   Take care  Chow  XOXO Susie

Girls- Thanx for all the shout out's!!!  it is really something that is helping me more than you will all know.  I've started to see a therapist as well-3 appt.'s so far and all of them I end up crying. All of you have been a blessing and I can't wait to embrace our trip to Vegas & have a heck of a great time-As I've said before, Vegas will never be the same after were done!!!

My heart and love go out to those of you with young children.  Such a shame they have to witness the effects this disease at an early age.  Not that being older is good either.   HUGS and BLESSINGS.   Nancy

Susie - Sounds to me that you are a wonderful mother and Aurora is very lucky to have you as her mother.   Keep up the counseling!  I was crying multiple times every day.  I had 8 counseling sessions, started antipressants, meditation and Yoga.  I feel so much better now and haven't cried for over a month!   Robin

Susie you know how I feel and I think you are beyond amazing!  You are following in your dear sweat amazing mother's footsteps and she is with you all of the way baby!!

My DH's bday was Thursday so we made plans to go to the beach.  BUT before we coudl do that I had a Dr.s appt.  The last 2 tubes were still draining too much so they had to stay in....I also got the unfortunate news that I REALLY need to wait on having my hysterectomy.  I have been so depressed and this made it all worse.  I was a blubbering idot and couldn't stop.  I just wanted it over with, but I have come to the realization that it will take time.  I need to be smart and my health comes first.

We went to the beach and I caught a virus.  I ran a fever all Friday night and most of Sat.  NO sleep Friday night.  I send DH and the girls for a long walk on the beach to watch the sand castle contest while I napped in the car.  It felt wonderful.  I was no way up for walking far.  This last surgery has been hard on me.  I'm still on the couch, still have 2 tubes, and we are coming up on 3 weeks!  URGH!  There is no way with the way I feel today, I could go through another surgery which was scheduled for next Tues.  So that's off and my new scheduled date is Oct 20th.  I have a Cookie Lee convention in Aug. and then Komen Race for a Cure and Veges in Sept. so Oct is the next best date.  It will give me time to heal and work on losing weight so that my tummy tuck will have a better outcome.

Thank you sweet wonderful tata sisters for always being here for me and always caring!  YOU'RE THE BEST!!

    HUGS! JazzyJ

p.s. I have an appt tomorrow to get the tubes out...pray for low drainage! Thanks!

Jazzy, be careful what you wish for! I had my last drain in for 3 weeks and then needed it out so I could go back to work. I developed a very large, hard bump, like having your thumb just under your skin where fluid built up. Very painful.....Cry

Finally got a bit drained so by the time the surgeon saw it he didn`t think it was too bad. Since then, I've learned that kept the skin from adhering properly to the chest wall, so there was enough pooch that I had a revision and could use another one! Yell
