You're all crazy!!!!  LOL  I can only imagine me coming home with a pink ribbon tatoo on my butt!!  Though I have to say I did give it a couple minutes of consideration...LOL

I am doing the boob critique now too! We are a sad bunch!! LOL I am always asking "do you think those are real", "do you think mine will look like hers, or hers, or hers" I do think we're taking the fun out of it for the guys..but what the heck!! We're entitled!!

Those of us in the Pacific North West should work on a flight together.  Cheers!!

Traceyz.  Count me in for two.  Me and my oldest DD.

I'm really struggling here.   There's a home football game (University of Oregon) that weekend and my youngest DD's dates one of the players.  It's his Senior year.

How long do I have to make a reservation?

September 24th is also my one year cancerversary too.  I want to go.

    Go Ducks!!!!    Cancer sucks!!!!

Keep us posted on the Viva Ta Ta's tshirt.  We could ALL show up in it and instantly know each other.   I am all for a temporary tatoo, but not a permanent one.  There are tshirts with Save the Hooters  -- with 2 owls in the appropriate place...   not sure of the exact link.

Renee, you might want to check over what you posted. "Your dear daughter's boyfriend dates one of the football players"??????

If you chose a football game over a trip to Vegas, I will come over there and smack you up the side of your head! And then visit my sister in Portland! Hey, sounds like a plan!Laughing

Laura, EEEK.....and I am rooming with YOU?  I'm doomed....

It seems to be rather important WHERE you place that tattoo, because twenty years from now, that cute pink ribbon on my lower back could take on a new life.  Where oh where has my little tattoo gone?....oh look, it's under my left buttock...

Whippetmom-I work in a nusing home and have seen many tattoos that have gone south and are now in between the wrinkles, lol!. There is a tattoo parlor on the strip named after a rock star and a big place in ThePalms. I am sure there are many more. Maybe if there are enough of us, we could get a discount! I have a daisy on my back that I got when my friend turned 50. She always wanted one and I figured what the heck. After bc, the pain from the tat will be tolerable!

kjbell - MY FEARS EXACTLY!!!!  Horrors upon horrors!  THAT is exactly why tattoo placement is an essential factor. I want my tattooing done by the best!  I would have to do what I usually do and research the snot out of this before submitting to the inkman.

I do have a few....(6) the last one was a cover up,the old one didn't look itself, so....turned it into a purple iris with PINK RIBBON, that was done in July 08. They had a few problems,my skin had changed due to the CHEMO-it was like paper they told me, took abit longer to TAT,still looks great, but just to let you know this is something you might want to be pre-pared for. I love tattoo's,most of mine are hidden & have special meaning to them. The ribbon is on my ankle up 1/4 way to middle of leg. I have one on my foot as well, they do hurt more when you get them where there is no...FAT.  Now I've opend the door to you all about me, got your curiosty??

My wonderful husband gave me the thumbs up for the Vegas trip-YEAH!!!! &  to let me know it was ok, let me get the t-shirt for Save the TA TA'S..the vegas bling bling, I also got the one that say's TATA'S under construction(has 2 pink work cones) You see I will not as of yet had reconstruction done, been having too much fun confusing my Dr's with other issues & spending alot of extra time at the luxury rooms in our local hospital-been there  done that  right??!!.I do see my specialist in August at OHSU in Portland(will be our 3rd visit) to discuss it,but I can't wait to chat with all of you to make sure I make the best choice for myself.  Ok look at me, going on & on & on

I'm so happy that my SOUL SISTER told me about this, didn't even know & now I get the chance to meet all of you!!  Life is good!!

Take care  to all Chow for now   XOXO Susie

Love the picture Deborah!!  And I'm with you by the pool Jean, unless we can find one of those lick or stick on ones!!!  I'm too chicken for one thing but the biggest thing is losing the tat into a wrinkle a few years done the line!  (We're going to have to keep our eye on Laura!!! won't be able to turn our back on her or we'll end up taking home a tat!Surprised)

Wait just a minute though.  Hold on there.  I just found out that there is actual PAIN with tattooing. Is this true?  Because I think I'll just have a V8 and a Dairy Queen instead.

OH....BTW....Welcome Susie from Hood River.  Glad you are joining us in Las Vegas.

Tattooing, done by a traditional body artist, often does not use anesthetics.  Therefore it can and often is painful, depending where the tattoo is done.  (Generally, the more fat there is an area, the less pain there is- so stomachs are little pain, while top of feet is more).   Cosmetic tattooing, including scar work, and 3D nipple tattooing, when done by a cosmetic artist, or by a person trained in both body and cosmetic procedures, uses anesthetics and you are comfortable during the procedure, if not totally pain free.

Of course someone's pain tolerance comes into play, even in the "less pain" areas.  a DQ and a V8 could be a good choice.     JUDY

But, if Laura comes with you to the body artist shop... she has the anesthetics cream and you can be in little to no pain at all.. ( DEB)...lol lol......

Judy... what a great career you have!

YES we def NEED Laura and her drugs!!!  WOO HOO!!  Plus V8/vodka/pickle juice..:-)

YAY My soul sistah Susie has finally joined us!  She has been in that hospital more than any of us would ever care to!!  We got together on facebook!!  Grew up in the same small town of 10,000 but never knew eachother.  Both of us going throgh similar things...then to find out my husband actually dated her sister!!  HAhahahahaha and he even FORGOT!!!  No surprise to us huh.  LOL  men  anyway....

How many of you have purchased the vegas tatas shirt??  I am hoping to be thinner by Sept so not too sure what size to wear.  I am so depressed about my weight and I have been working so hard to lose but the damn tamoxifen...urgh...tummy tuck and hysterectomy is coming and I want to be prepared!

OK rambling....oh yeah who's turn is it to fight over yvonne???  I think it's our turn!!!! :-)

    Have an AWESOME week girls!!!~

    HUGS! JazzyJ

To get a bit technical, if one has a tattoo, it is recommended NOT to do blood work until it is all healed.   Some doctor or medical person told me that, since it involves puncturing the skin.   Maybe someone else can shed some light on it.

My skin is so sensitive that even topical things cause a reaction - adhesive tape and scrub soap for example - that I will pass on the tattoo and go with a Rum and Coke by the pool and some eye candy behind my dark glasses and floppy hat.

Are we all ordering the TA TA tshirt?   I have a pink newsboy cap with silver sequins on it that will add more bling.  Don't ask where  I got it because I do NOT remember - some store around here, not online.

Welcome and speedy healing, Susie.  Hugs for everyone.   Nancy

OMG, I actually choked on my V8 and sprayed my Dairy Queen when I heard that comment! Laughing

A lot of misinformation is out there about tattoos.

About the anesthetic: Yes, the anesthetic works well, but it should be applied with a secondary that works on broken skin.

About the blood testing, and other myths about the fact that a needle is used:  The needles used for tattooing are sterile, just like any other needle.  If done in a proper environment, with proper precautions, (like no re-sterilizing and re-using needles-UGH)  there are no restrictions on it.  Some jurisdictions and the Red Cross will prohibit the giving of blood if you have had a tattoo or set up other restrictions like waiting a year or more.  The tattoo is usually full healed in one week anyway.

Laura: Thanks, I love my job.

Just a note:  I give this advice because I want you to be propeerly informed about tattooing, cosmetic or body work.  This way you can make an informed decision.   I don't suggest getting one on vacation because ti will restrict your pool usage, as in no swimming with it.

There is no restriction on Dairy Queen or Vodka - except you can have the liquor later, not before the tattooing...

I have a tatoo artist working on some sketches for me as we speak.......I currently have 2 tats.......one on my butt and one on my ankle......the one on my ankle is the symbol for cancer......not our kind......but the zodiac......resembles 69 on it's side.......problem is the guy that did it......did a poor job and I have always wanted to get it fixed.......I figure I will wait until I'm through with all my treatments......but somehow want to incorprorate the pink ribbon in there ........I will definately get the shirt if we all are.......but will pass on the tat as I do want to swim and enjoy the pool.........now the vodka on the other hand will definately be part of my plan!

    Cheers and Hugs
