AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 8

Oh...I don't care if Adams hair is black, purple or pink! I don't even care if he's got black nail polish on...(well, that is pushing it) Sigh.......

Glad to see Scott gone tonight. I agree that he did a great job overcoming some of the challenges of being blind and competing on this show, but he just never seemed to improve vocally. Maybe it was song choices...sort of felt like I was listening to Barry Manilow. Barry's talented, but not a "now" sort of artist.
Even though I was sincerely creeped out (see my "dog in pants statement") by Adam's "Ring of Fire" performance---not so much the vocals but the gyrations and weird presentation--he was absolutely redeemed for me when he sang "Tracks of My Tears". That is one of my favorite songs and every time I've ever heard it performed by someone other than Smoky Robinson or Linda Ronstadt, I just wanted to slap 'em...with Adam's performance, I ended up voting for him and immediately downloading the song! (Did anyone else think he looked like a young Kurt Russell that night?)
Adam's performance last night was also H.O.T.!!! I would love to see it come down to Allison and Adam in the finals.
-
I knew I"d find out who went home here! Can you believe I feel asleep? Of course, it didn't last - and I really kind of needed it to. But, maybe now that I know Scott won't be torturing us anymore I can go back to sleep!
-
Crap...I should have posted a spoiler alert at the beginning of my post. SORRY! At least you'll get some sleep, right? ;o)
(((HUGS)))

Artsee...Ii agree with your comment about Adam's hair! LOL I still think he is fantastic, too.
As for Scott, it was time for him to go but I have to admit I'm a softee and I felt bad for him. I'm glad that Paula gave him a good send-off. It took lots of ambition, guts, and confidence for him to try out in the first place and then to get so far....still the others are much better, there's no doubt.
Next week should be interesting.

badboob--now that you mention it, Adam does look a lot like Kurt Russell !!!!! I can definitely see the finals being between Adam and Alison.

Unless Lil does better, I think that she will be next. Too bad, because she has tons of talent! I bet someone picks her up for a contract no matter what happens. If Anoop wants to stay, he better pick the right song for next week.
My daughter doesn't watch anymore because she says Adam will win. She may be right....
Hugs, Carol
-
It's ok Diane, it's not like I taped it to watch later...you saved me the trouble of googling the website!
-
Adam is definitely the "Golden Child" on American Idol. He is AMAZING! As much as I like Danny and Kris, I just don't see them performing on the same level as Adam. Still hoping for a Adam/Danny finale!
Alison has a great voice, I just wish she wasn't so young. Don't know why the age thing bothers me so much. Guess it's hard to take them seriously when they are so young.
Predicting Lil and Matt will be the next to go.
Can't wait to see what Adam does next!
-
I definitely think Adam is this season's winner. The second place win is going to be between Kris, Allison, and Matt. I think age is what hurt David Archuletta last year too.
-
I picked Adam out early in the competition. He's just so poised and talented. It's funny but I've never gotten so involved in American Idol until this season and most of that evolves around the fact that I just have to see what Adam does next! I also like Danny and Allison. Kris disappointed me this last time as I didn't think he sang to his potential. Matt fluctuates with a great performance and then a "so-so" performance.
Patty, I agree with your prediction.....I think Lil and Matt are good possibilities for the "next to go" spot. Anoop is also in that category!
I read an article in our newspaper this morning that was written by a reporter who interviewed Scott after his dismissal this week. He is going to tour with some American Idol tour group now. I knew he was legally blind but did not know that he had a kidney transplant in 2007. I admire him for going after his dreams.
Well enough from me..........
Have a great weekend and a wonderful Passover or Easter.
Rita
-
Yeah...Kurt Russell in his younger years. I think you've got something here.
The last 10 or 12 tour around the country after this is done so they all will get a little piece of "some" pie. They will get exposure some more and hopefully do their own thing if someone rediscovers them.
O.K. I have tunnel vision and my prediction is.......The new American Idol is Adam...hands down. I don't even have to think twice. Now in the event that he isin't I will personally throw a very big rock through my TV!!!!
Have a great day girls. Artsee

-
Artsee and AlwaysHope....you both are just too funny! I'm sitting here laughing my head off!!!
-
Thanks Rita. I have to say that I gave up on Idol until last year and really liked David Cook and finally felt that the people who deserved to be the top two actually got the top two. Before, it just seemed so rigged. I think the people who should be in the top are there this year as well. I really dislike when they try to make one person more sympathetic to the audience with pics of their kids or stories about lost loved ones. This is a singing and talent competition and those things shouldn't be pulled in to influence who stays and who goes.
-
Artsee, I think you are so right. Adam is so talented, he has the whole package.
I agree with you jazzy girl, the sad stories needs to wait until idol is completely over then they can bring out the stories.
-
Is "Idol" on soon????
I really like to see the modest contestants don't you? Wht's the sense in sitting up there and arguing whether or not you did good. Uhm...I can think of one for sure that is very modest............
-
Not until Tuesday, I think, Artsee. If you want an 'Adam' fix though you can go to the KWWH thread and watch the music video that Spar posted of Adam's 'Mad World' song he did last week. Its even better watching him the second time around.
-
The human interest part (Scott being blind, Danny just recently widowed, Megan and Alexis being young single moms, etc.) I'm sure is to get more viewers, but they need to also be able to sing well enough to stay! I think Adam, Alison, and Danny are the most talented (in that order); then Lil, Matt, Kris. Anoop should go next week--he's not on the same level as the rest.
Anne
-
Thank you Always.......for alerting me to the KWWH thread and Spar thanks for putting Adams video there. I didn't even know that thread existed. Anyway thanks for letting me get my FIX!!!
Now it won't seem so long till Tues.
Artsee......now I can take time for the Easter bunny.

The BestArts.com has all Adam's AI auditions: http://www.thebestarts.com/AdamLambert/idol/default.aspx
He's amazing.
-
O.K. gals...who do you think is off tonight? As always I was "wowed" by Adam's "Wild Thing" and I even though Anoop did pretty good. Perhaps Matt or Lil? It's getting hard to predict now because so many of them seems to have comparable talent. I didn't think that Kris did as good as usual either. I just can't wait to see the results.
My male friend was just appalled by Adam's eye makeup. He says, "How could anyone vote for a guy wearing eye makeup?" Sometimes our guys just don't have a clue!!! LOL
-
Loved the show last night! Adam wowed them as usual. But Anoop was fabulous, he sang one of my favorite songs ever! And then Matt sang one of my favorite songs, "when you love a woman" Can you tell I like Bryan Adams? Lil did not do it for me last night. Allison was fantastic! Danny's song, "endless love" was beautiful. Kris was OK. It's going to be hard to pick the best....JMHO
Carol
-
Well, here I go again. I don't want to be biased but...Adam for me was the only one that went all out and made the song his own again. It always sounds a little different than the original artist. All others for me just kind of sounded like the song always sounded. This time everyone needs to get out of their 'shell', except the black eyed wonder. It really does take a lot to come on stage with black nail polish and black eyeliner....but I don't care. It's a hard call as to whose leaving tonight..maybe Kris or Lil ?? Maybe Matt..who was incredibly pitchy last night.
-
OH Adam ROCKED!!!!!!!!!! He is so different and stands out far from any of the others. He is one brave young man.
-
They really should have let Matt go....
-
I really like them all, but I thought Anoop or Lil should've gone by tonight. I got the bottom 3 right, but I never thought it would be Matt. Can't believe they used their save on him---they only get to use it once, and I think they should've saved it in case Adam ends up there some week. Stranger things have happened in years gone by!!!!!
Anne
-
So now, Matt gets to stay an extra week, but someone has to leave a week earlier than they would have. (2 going to leave next week)
Anne
-
I agree with Anne, the judges really should have saved their save. Kinda feel they used it to just use it. Matt will probably end up going anyway next week with either Anoop or Lil.
Adam was good as usual. I was amazed at the amount of energy he used to perform his song. I also think everyone else was just okay.
-
Yeah, I like Matt but I don't know that he was worth the save. I think the only one I'd use it on if I had to is Adam. Here's hoping it was worth it!
