    Again, if there is anyone who would like their name placed on a rose, I purchased two extra ones.  I can call the shop within the next hour or two and give them your name.

    I agree too, the Governor could be made aware, and easily at least have sent a note or message that could have been read at the service.  Shame shame.

    Ladies, I have one "spare" rose left to put a name on.  Please PM me or post a note.  She said we have about two hours left. 

    PS-she also said the count is well over 200.  I don't know if anyone posted that or not, so I apologize if I repeated it!

    Okay, the "extra" roses have names on them.  The woman at the shop thanked us for "such an honor."

    Oh my freaking gosh, that should be the title page of Traci's book.  That picture is classic, and makes every one of Deb's funnies come rushing to my head all at once. 

    She was such a good person.  Truly!

    I just talked to Mona, and ordered a rose. I always admired Deb's spirit, and her humor. She will be so missed, and my heart goes out to her wonderful husband and her much loved girls. She was a truly beautiful person, and touched so many lives that her memory will always live on.

    How nice of you, Peggy to find us and post the info!!  You can see how much Deb meant to all of us!

    I'm sure by the time the flower shop closes today they will have over 200 roses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I should also mention that if you'd like a copy of the story for yourself to keep, call Quality Services at 907-276-3623.  Tell them it was the story about Deb in Soldotna that ran at 6pm on January 30th.  I think they charge $30 per story on DVD.  I don't know if shipping is included.  It's still just 5pm up here so don't start calling for another couple hours.  You might even have to wait until Monday to call.

     Also, I just read the script...there are over 200 roses ordered so far...the flower shop is still taking orders...they have about 400 on hand.

    Thank you liz for helping me participate in the beautiful pink rose tribute to deb.  I see a number of people doing the same thing, and I'm sure the poor ladies at the flower shop are thankful too to have the phone ring even one less time this week.  Can you imagine being in their shoes right now??  What a team!  Even though I never met Deb in person, I feel very honored to know her while she still had her earthly presence.

    I can't wait to see the story on their website. Just called my brother in Anchorage, and he'll be watching it too. But when he called his stepdaughter who works for Channel 2, she was unaware of it! I am so glad for the coverage of our tribute to Deb, and also for the extra awareness of the need for a cure for breast cancer. You girls rock; this tribute is amazing and I am so glad to be a part of it. Still thinking of John and the kids, and the amazing wife and mother that they lost.

    That Glenda dress is a total hoot!!! Made me laugh out loud, that's so "Deb"!  I wish I handled my dx as graciously as she did.  She loved making everyone laugh.

    Marsha,  thank you for posting the pic of Deb in her Glenda dress.

    I remember when that picture was taken.  Deb was laughing and we were laughing with her.

    She thought the weather in upstate New York was hot because she was used to Alaska summers.  I am from the deep-deep south and had a sweater on.   Deb was sweating and I had goose bumps from the cold!

    I think they did a great job on the story.  Deb certainly has left a lasting impression on our hearts and souls, but even more so on the community she grew up in and now her girls will grow up in. How wonderful it will be for those girls to know that even when from Alaska, in a town so far removed from the lower states, that the world is at their fingertips and they can continue Deb's quest for a life filled with love, kindness, and friendship. I hope one day they too, will understand how big an impact their beautiful mother had on so very many women she supported and who supported her in her fight to stay with them.
