I just got off the phone at the flower shop in Alaska, ordered a couple of roses, 1 for me and 1 for Shel.
What a wonderful tribute, thanks for organizing it!
RIP Deb,
love Tina

Hello all,
I had already sent my order for a rose, but I also sent a donation to Deb's
Relay for Life team. I know this was an important event for Deb and John.
-
I got mine called in also and she told me they were over 170. I might do a donation to Rely For Life if I can after the first of the month. But wanted a rose to be there for Deb. It's been such a hard week.
-
Hi all,
I had an email from the reporter here in Anchorage - the tv crew is heading to Soldotna tomorrow to do the story on Deb and all of our roses and they plan to have it on tomorrow evening's newscast. The station is an NBC affiliate - KTUU. Sometimes they post video stories on their web pages, so you may find it online. I will ask him to please request that it be posted so you can all see the story.
I believe he has spoken with John and so I think the story will be quite nice.
So look at what that one little rose has gone and done.
Since Anchorage is the largest city in Alaska, it is likely that Sarah P may see the story.
I wouldn't hold my breath for her to donate money however.

-
Will also do RFL donation, but couldn't help but to add a rose from Arizona. Maybe they can donate them after the service to a hospice or elder care center. Mona sounded tired but kind.

thanks to one of our sweetest bc sisters who bought my rose for me, there's a rose on it's way from Rockville, Maryland for our darling Deb C.
Rest in peace Deb, and thank you bc sister!
-
A rose from me, too.
-
Could somebody who has paypal call and order a rose from me. I just had surgery removing a nodule in my throat and am not allowed to speak for 72 hours. I can pay you right away via Paypal as that doesn't require a voice!
I cared so much for Deb. I want to be part of this tribute. Thank you.
Carol
-
I will Carol. I don't have paypal but, you're in! PM me if you want your last name on the card, otherwise, I will just use Carol, Saratoga, NY!!!

I think this is the nices tribute that I have ever seen. I have been out of work since September so I can send a rose from Virginia. But I do send my prayers to her family.
I loss my sister in 2004 and she left three teenage girls behind. I will continue to pray for Deb's husband and children.
If someone could send me a link to the story tomorrow, I would appreciate it.
Thanks
-
WOW this is awesome.
-
One $10 donation to Relay for Life in memory of Alaska Deb (see link in previous post) and to honor all of the caring women at breastcancer.org

Does anyone know what time KTUU in Anchorage airs the evening news? I know they are 4 hours behind me but I can't find a tv schedule anywhere for that town!
Hugs
Deb

I ordered a rose on Tuesday and just donated on Deb's Relay for Life page...

Hi Deb from Ohio - it airs at 6 pm, it is an hour show and likely this will be closer to 7 p.m.
If you are Central time - we are 3 hours behind you, so 9 pm your time. Lori
-
I just saw this thread, and will call in the morning. What a fantastic tribute to our Deb.
-
just made a $10 donation to Debs Relay for Life team in her memory.
-
Lories - I sent you a PM.
Last night I sent Gov Palin an email regarding our dear friend Deb...it is on page 7 of this thread. The web site said priority is given to Alaska residents for reading emails due to the volume they receive...I live in Denver...
One of the sisters suggested that I ask the Alaska sisters to post the letter to Gov Palin in the hope that it will be read since it is from one of her constituents... also to update the letter with info on the news station interview etc.
So if you see fit and have the time, would you mind emailing my letter...I hope I am not imposing...
Thanks so much...its late so off to bed shortly...this night owl is tired. Karen

I love the pink rose idea. I'm not sure I can call the florist. I'm such a crybaby. I'd crumple into a heap. If there's any pink roses left, I'd like to participate. Could someone place the order for me and let me know where to send the money? I live in Corpus Christi, Texas. I too loved Deb's avatar with that bright feather headdress. Sure gonna miss her.
-
I am so excited about the press coverage. I had lain in bed and thought about calling up there! Yep, get up and check the board, and it's done!! Now that is worth a WHOO-HOO!!!!!
I will do Relay for Life this afternoon.
Hey, Chief Deb!!! Some BC Tribe you have down here!!!
-
althea..... I'll get it ordered for you as soon as they open.
I'm also doing Relay For Life later.
-
Just donated to ACS Relay For Life.
