IllinoisLady- Toodle do!!!
I heard 30 nurses quit the OB unit in NYC because they didn't want a vaccine.
also glad I live in California and sad at all the money wasted - hopefully recall election rules will change now.
-
“In the case of these healthy people I'd wonder why they wouldn't be highly interested in doing more to preserve that health?”
Jackie, that is such an excellent and perplexing statement! They think they would be tempting fate by getting the vaccine and we think they are tempting it by not getting it.
-
They are killing off thier own voters.
-
Even if they care nothing for human life, it surely seems like an odd political strategy.

Ruth, I really like your avatar picture.
I've been thinking that the Reps. will dissolve their party for a really long time and I'm feeling it even more since they've shown such an ability to hang onto almost all orange behavior since 1/6. As well being willing to off themselves too. Sort of amazing to watch. Sometimes makes me wonder what am I missing here -- but like orange loon I think they got in well over their heads and no longer have a way out. I also think when you decide to put up with something so despicably in error and cross that line, you just might no longer be able to hear reason if it comes.

What happens when you call them essential and then don't pay them.

Mind boggling:

Do we have to build another boat???
What rubber rooms were made for.

Yup, put him in a straight jacket and into the rubber room ASAP. Sort of right up there wih heaven only being for Jehovah's.
For those who choose to "live free", I don't want my healthcare insurance premiums to rise because you choose to end up in ICU before you depart. What moron posted that sign?

Thanks, Illinois!

I'm wondering how bad the right-wing nutters will be on the 18th. There's a gathering being very lightly publicized in a St. Louis suburb, in a small park that's unfortunately right across from Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. I hope all the events are very sparsely attended. And I really hope nothing bad happens in Washington that day.
-
Not the heat, the stupidity!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!! The truth!!!!
I hope the 18th does not bring about bad things, either. This time, law enforcement knows to be on the lookout. Plus we no longer have a President who goes about praising racists, mysoginists, Qanon creeps and all the other nutters, egging them on.

Did I read somewhere that actually a small crowds are expected at the " rally ". Seems the Proud Boys and likely other groups feel that the rally could be something of a set up. They seem to be telling their people not to go. This rally was set up by Matt Branyard who was one of the other guy's campaign staffers and I guess more or less small potatoes. Maybe he wanted to try and get some of the possible gravy off the train. If memory serves he advertised the event by letting everyone know that it would cost a lot to sponsor the event. DHS thinks about 7oo will show.
I do hope ( they might gather in other places besides the Capitol ) that it all stays quiet because I really don't see that standing up for the J'6 patriots is going to do a darn thing for those people. It may be that there is some other reasoning for this "rally".

In our rough and rugged individualism, we think of gentleness as weakness, being soft and virtually spineless. Not so! Gentleness includes such enviable qualities as having strength under control, being calm and peaceful when surrounded by a heated atmosphere, emitting a soothing effect on those who may be angry or otherwise beside themselves, and possessing tact and gracious courtesy that causes others to retain their self-esteem and dignity. Instead of losing, the gentle gain.Instead of being ripped off and taken advantage of, they come out ahead! -Charles Swindoll

I also think it is a whole lot of karma. I will remain amazed at how easy it seems for people to watch these things happen and be able to NOT IS it as covid, and substitute some other reason. Then again, maybe they were always 'leery' of scientific things. Likely they don't have issues with going up in an airplane or taking advantage of all the other scientific conveniences. Like aerosol spray cans, or picnic coolers or all the other things we have. Some sort of science is behind almost all of it.
-
And there will be some who show up. It will be interesting to see who. I really think it has been so publicized at this point that only empty heads and some total hard core. I sure don't think any will be too quick to pull any stunts. I think it will actually be a real DUD !!!
And I also have thought that Branyard hoped to cash in a bit for himself as the organizer.
-
I am certainly hoping that things go this way, but I have learned not to be too over-confident because we didn't get our female president. It does seem though that the Reps. seem somewhat impervious to wading in where angels fear to tread -- something they seemed to have learned fro their former disgraced leader.

What a list for the history books: Nothing good out of this one.

Anti-vaccine Alabama YouTubers die of COVID-19 weeks apart
Joshua Rhett Miller NYPostAn Alabama couple known on YouTube for reselling vintage items and their staunch anti-vaccine stance have both died from COVID-19, relatives said.
Dusty and Tristan Graham, better known as the "Alabama Pickers," died from the virus less than a month apart. The pair from Huntsville ran a since-deleted YouTube channel sharing tips on how to resell vintage items, antiques and collectibles, AL.com reported.
Dusty died Thursday, more than three weeks after his wife "passed suddenly in her sleep" due to coronavirus complications on Aug. 25, according to an online fundraiser set up by their children.
"Unfortunately Dusty and Tristan have both passed away," wrote the couple's daughter, Windsor Graham. "Thank you for all the kind words and helping us during this difficult time."
Weeks earlier, Dusty announced his wife's death — and also revealed he was in an ICU bed "battling it out" against the virus himself.
One of the last videos posted by the couple on their deleted channel was reposted elsewhere on the video-sharing site, AL.com reported. In the 90-minute clip, showing the couple as they drove, Dusty made his anti-vaccine stance abundantly clear while discussing local mask mandates.
"Still haven't gotten the you know what," Dusty said on the clip before mimicking a syringe jab. "Still not planning on getting it."
Rebuking proof of COVID vaccination cards, Dusty Graham said his "own passport" was his birth certificate and the Constitution."But if you want to, bully for you," Tristan said, agreeing with her husband's take.
Dusty said he had his "own passport" while referring to his birth certificate and the Constitution, which he claimed allowed him to travel wherever he wanted without trouble.
"I think this will be all behind us in a couple years," Dusty continued. "Then they'll be like 'You don't need that anymore.'"
Dusty added that he had survived without a vaccine for a year and knew friends who contracted the virus. Two of their children did as well, according to the couple, who had more than 1,200 followers on eBay, where they sold their vintage finds.
Tristan, meanwhile, said on the clip she had survived bone cancer.
"We will dig through garages, estates, and closets," the husband-and-wife team's bio read. "All to bring the BEST antiques, collectibles, and unusual Items to market."

Now there is a website, Sorry Anti Vaxxers.
It’s site says: Welcome to sorryantivaxxer.com, a repository of stories of anti-vaxxers who died or came close to dying of COVID needlessly from their own scientifically un-sound and stubborn beliefs. You can scroll through and see there are quite a few stories to tell, and the list will continue to grow.

I guess they could call that site a shrine to stupidity.

I read the piece you put in Divine and the song " Another One Bites The Dust " came to mind. I still don't get it. Have these people routinely played Russian Roulette. Quite fearless I'd say. They also don't seem to have considered or minded that someone else will now have to raise their children. Someone else will also be the 'parents' who watch these children graduate schools, get great jobs, get married and participate in the grandchildren they won't see.
I also take exception to the fact that in a couple of yrs. all will have passed. Along with perhaps as many as 700,000 people including yourselves. It will never pass. Foolish, foolish people. I don't admire them for holding their ground and not getting vaccinated. Thing is they haven't proved much. You have to be alive to ENJOY your freedom. As far as their lives go it means squat but hey -- you showed the old government that only wanted to help you live by means of a free vaccine. Your kind of stupid is amazing if you don't mind my saying so.

Here is one of those nay-sayers that will actually know where-of she speaks and she better pray she is alive to speak later on.
