WP opinion by Monica Hesse
"Madame First Lady — Mrs. Biden — Jill — kiddo: a bit of advice on what might seem like a small but I think is not an unimportant matter," writer Joseph Epstein began. "Any chance you might drop the 'Dr.' before your name? 'Dr. Jill Biden' sounds and feels a touch fraudulent, not to mention comical."
Epstein wrote, as "no one should call himself Dr. unless he has delivered a child.
We are not, underscore not, post patriarchal definitely when that ignorant rant is posted by a WSJ columnist.
First, he assumes that only a man can call himself doctor (note 'HIMSELF) unless HE has delivered a baby.
Second, Dr. Biden has delivered a child, writes Monica Hesse, "out of her own uterus".
WSJ has the right to publish editorials that reflect many segments of society. Mr Epstein, who only holds an honorary doctorate and allows himself to be called 'Dr." is apparently representing the earlier evolutionary version i.e., Neanderthal, of men defined in the dictionary as 'uncivilized, unintelligent, or uncouth (typically used of a man). Let's not forget misogynistic.

Spookie - it is important to have goals. I hope you are successful in ousting DeSantis. No hope here of accomplishing similar goals. The representatives who attempted to overthrow the election are proud of themselves. It is so bad here, nationally and locally. In one hearing of the State legislature, two of the legislators bragged how they could overturn any ballot initiative passed by voters. At that time they were attempting to make the ballot initiative (provided for in the State's constitution) much more difficult, they failed. Current and former AGs advised that some of the provisions would not stand up in court.

Magic - I thought it was satire at first. Where do these idiots come from ? /https://www.wsj.com/articles/is-there-a-doctor-in-...

We are given a life—a precious commodity—and are placed on this earth for a short while. We are surrounded by incredible beauty, strength, and love along with incredible violence, hatred, and prejudice. Every time a person becomes happier, they are moving one step away from prejudice and violence and closer to love and compassion. So think of your personal joy as a contribution to peace on the planet as well as food for your spirit. -Charlotte Davis Kasl

The Epstein piece may be an introduction to the ignorant vilification yet to come for President elect Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden. If this kind of prejudice is ignored, and that bully gets a pass, it becomes even more deeply threaded into the fabric of who we are in America. Is there an ethical obligation to fight against hatred and prejudice?

I mean, next thing you know, this guy will object to Kamala Harris calling herself Vice President!
I’m so sick of these men whose ideal fantasy woman role model is June Clever in pearls and a dress making breakfast for the fellows in her life.

Well, I guess I better tell my brother to quit calling himself 'Doctor' since the degree he worked so hard to obtain was not in medicine, and I better call the School Board and have them take the 'Doctor' off the Superintendent's title, and I guess the history books will have to take the 'Doctor' off references to the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King. What a bunch of crap.........apparently this man is an equal opportunity jerk as he has insults many different groups of people.

That one was a hard one to wake up to this morning. I wonder what he calls the first lady we have right now. If he is objecting to Jill Biden being able to use the title she worked VERY hard for I'd hate to think that someone who came here under questionable circumstances ( it was said she got a special visa I think that put her in a category she wasn't truly in, being just a model ) and she hung around till she hooked up w/Trump whom seemed like he could get her here permanently -- which he did, and she was no more deserving then, and then turned around and got her parents over here ( chain migration which Trump wanted outlawed ) and that on top of being a nude and if not that extremely racy and revealing photos. But what of that. What description for her???? A couple of ones flit across my mind but they are a mite rough to the tongue.
Speaking of which it has been said and certainly sounded as such that Melania, the Trump woman ) plagiarized one or maybe two of Michele Obama's speeches. Out of laziness or just not knowing or what. So, I have no use what-so-ever for Melania Trump. That is helped likely by having read her friend's tell-all book. Melania, while I think a bit smarter than Trump, has I think a number of his characteristics. She is then crass and I think doesn't mind using people and I think has no issue what-so-ever seeing herself as far above the peasantry. She "really doesn't care" and in that sense found the perfect jacket on her jaunt to the border.

Hey in this version of Groundhog's Day, Biden won (again)!
-
The electoral college votes are cast. Biden’s win is official!
And Billie Barr just done resigned. Sheesh. What a train wreck administration.
-
He didn't resign, 45 kicked him out. I'm laughing to be honest.

-
Biden's CDC pick shows a lot of good potential.
-
Some say Barr resigned because Trump’s about to rain down a bunch of pardons and Barr doesn’t want to be a part of it.
