"HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN--THE SKY ABOVE IS BLUE AGAIN--LA--LA--LA--" (I'M PLAYING THE FAT LADY SINGING....)
-
Oh yeah, stick a fork in him, he done!
He done be DEFEATED!

I don't feel like I can rest easy until January 20th. I wonder if we can all sue him for mental cruelity?
-
For me it's Jan 21. And then hopefully we are in the clear and no crazy MAGA jerks try to off our president.
-
A Christmas Miracle has occurred: Mitch just congratulated Biden AND Harris for winning the election!
-
Miracle or Moscow? Still won't stop Don the Con from fundraising and pocketing the money.

These memes are fantastic. That you all for sharing them.
I won't exhale until the 21st either. Too much can happen and too much damage can still be done. No way is tRump going to go quietly into the night and I think these last days of his presidency are among the most dangerous.

I must say that I do have more respect for the Supreme Court since this all happened (including their latest decision to not roll back marriage equality). It is nice to know that they actually are honoring their oath to defend and protect the Constitution. Even though I am 100% sure I won't agree with many of their future decisions; at least I will feel that they are based on their interruption of the Constitution, not raw politics.
-
I agree with you Ruth. I felt a bit better about the Supreme Court as well. It was such a relief that they didn't roll back marriage equality. Yeah, I am sure I won't agree with them 100% in the future, but for now this is a good start.

Today I have been calling elected representatives and asking them to join the rest of us in congratulating Joe Biden on his election to the presidency and working with him on the critical issues we are facing. Of course I'm only talking to the person anwering the phone or leaving a message, but NOT one has indicate that they have any such intention. As to the snarky opinion piece complaining that Jill Biden should not use "Dr." because she is not a medical doctor. The same people have been denying and challenging the election results as well. I would not be surprised if Trump started quoting from an "Alternate Constitution". Have been thinking about all the news on the Corona Virus vaccine and temperature requirements. Colder than Antartica, doesn't mean much. -70C even when converted to -94F doesn't mean much. But cold capping - those caps were -30C when pulled out of the cooler. So 2.3 times colder than a cold cap in chemotherapy is a little easier to understand.
-
I'm giving my (slimy) Senators & Representative one day to add their congratulations and then doing the same, Bluegirl.....no doubt with the same results.
A little Randy Rainbow for your enjoyment:

Joe Biden To Nominate Pete Buttigieg As Transportation Secretary. This makes me so happy!

Mindfulness is being aware of yourself, others, and your surroundings in the moment. When consciously and kindly focusing awareness on life as it unfolds minute by precious minute, you are better able to savor each experience. Also, being closely attentive gives you the opportunity to change unwise or painful feelings and responses quickly. In fact, being truly present in a mindful way is an excellent stress reducer and, because of that, can be seen as consciousness conditioning, a strengthening workout for body, mind, heart, and spirit. -Sue Patton Thoele

Fantastic memes. I especially liked the one about the fork and doneness. I will rest a lot better when we get to the BIG day and beyond. I think it is pretty much a given that there is no way for Biden taking over to change although some try to float the idea ( Stephen Miller with his alternate electors ) that there are still pathways out there.
As to Bill Barr -- I do think he'd like to try and fade into the woodwork if possible, but I seriously doubt anyone will forget or necessarily forgive the fact that Barr's middle name was Cohn for as long as he had charge of the AG's ofc. I also think that he made a deal of some kind with Trump to be allowed to resign early. I don 't think the second in chg. will be able to do much for Trump in these last few days. The problem with Trump is who is left to talk him out of the more stupid and dangerous things he might think to do.
Yeah for Pete Buttigieg.
