It happens to be Saint Francis Feast Day today.
Saint Francis had enormous love for all his fellow travellers in life, not just the humans.
So his prayers are often asked for animals.
-
The boy has great taste 😄.
-
What a handsome man he is! We laughed at the Hellmans mayo addiction. I'm sure he knows how much his mummy loves him.
-
Feelingfeline, I'm all too aware of HCM. My Bacardi was a Sphynx, a breed that is plagued by that disease. We took her for a echocardiogram every year to monitor her heart. She had HCM which was progressing slowly. However, she ultimately passed due to a blood clot related to HCM. She was 11.
Dr. Kate Meurs is a doctor at the research hospital at the NC State Veterinary School who is doing ground breaking research on HCM in cats. I was fortunate enough to meet her. I hate this cursed disease.
I'm happy to hear that Arthur takes his meds well. Many cats live with this disease managed by meds. Best to you and your Arthur.
-
Feline, Sorry to hear of Arthur's affliction. I don't have any knowledge about HCM. My cat had CHF. It's always a bonus when he's good about taking his meds. I hope the new regime gives him many more years. Five is so young. I've never tried cheese and mayo, but it sounds like a good combo.
-
Crayfish, i've always been fascinated by Sphynx cats! Your girl was just beautiful! I hope you're enjoying the kittens!

FeelingFeline --- love it!

I have had my Siamese cats one at a time over the last 55 years. I had one die while I was in treatment in 2007/ then I had 3 die over the next 7 years all rescue Siamese. Now I have a sweet younger healthy one about 3 years old that I found on Craig's List and need to be rehomed for a small fee. Love her so much she gives me a reason to get up in morning even when I don't feel good from all 4 cancers and side affects. I loved all my Meezers and each one a little different but all loved me so much. I couldn't still be alive without my sweet Meezers. I was originally diagnosed in 2006, with IBC stage 3B.

Hi Lissa— is that your little girl in your profile pic? She’s GORGEOUS. Please share more pics of that little beauty. They really do take a piece of your heart, don’t they? I’m glad you found one another.
Siamese are such a unique breed. They’re mouthy and smart and generally annoying, all wrapped up in a beautiful fawn coat and dazzling blue eyes. They’re hard to resist.

Well, I have an announcement. We adopted Puck and Salem a couple of months ago. There were two other kittens left and only one was adopted. Their remaining brother is Puck’s twin and it was bugging me that he was alone. And Puck wants badly to wrestle. His sister is not interested and although Xena is totally like “bring it!” she’s simply too big for that to be safe.
So ... everyone, meet Milo.
-
Adorable! And so nice they have each other.
-
Lissa what a wonderful story. So glad you have had your fellow travelers in life.
Crawfish - Milo is a handsome fellow!
-
Get ready to rrruuuummmmbbbbllllee! Sorry, couldn’t resist announcing the wrestling match.
-
Hemingway checking out the birthday gifts, and that strange thing the Hooman brother has in his hands. All met his approval.
-
Crawfish - I only have one crotchety old Maine Coon, but we love her dearly. I would have 50 cats if I could! Did you ever see the ad for that island off Greece where they were looking for someone to take care of their 55-60 cats for a year? The deal included pay, food, and a lovely house. All you had to do is look after the cats! Apparently they had over 35,000 offers/resumes! I would have been perfect for the job but i couldn't get my husband to agree!
-
omg, Snickersmom, that's a dream job for sure. I'm not surprised they had such a huge response. It would be great if the person who won the gig would start a blog, wouldn't it? I'd be checking it daily.
LOL Kath!
Ok, Spookiesmom, what on earth is happening with your son's hand? Hemingway is in charge of the gifts, I see.
-
Hey Milo. Your new mom is the best. Be sure to give her a sweet grooming and head nuzzle.
-
Aw Crawfish that is great news, for you and for Milo!
-
Grandson😂😂
It was a huge slinky, I’ve never seen one that big. Cat couldn’t quite figure out what it was, he’s pretty nosey usually.
-
Ha - cat wasn't alone I couldn't figure it either! Now I know! Thanks
-
All the birthday supervision is extremely tiring 😂
-
-
sorry feelingfel, How are you doing
-
Poor baby - hope he got enough rest after his birthday party!
-
Hi Susan, thank you. Arthur is taking his meds very well, thank God, as he is now on a 3 tablet regime instead of a single tablet. Of course these tablets are actually halves or quarters so that does help! He is also eating much better since starting the new meds so that is good also. He still hasn't been cured of his general disdain for our 9 month old juvenile cat Elliott, there is no med for that. The cardiac specialist vet's prognosis was a year but as you know from these boards a prognosis is only an educated guess, people and animals definitely defy expectations and the vet said he would love to be wrong.
-
Arthur what a handsome fellow you are! I am glad you are feeling better and taking your meds.
-
Merlin wasn’t feelin the selfie but I told him too bad!
-
Arthur is gor
