Rant that cancer has damaged teeth so bad I will have to get remaining teeth out (they'll fall out in couple of years he said) and get dentures. Not even 60 yet. More stinking surgeries because of cancer and now teeth gone too. Stress from cancer just damages everything. Hate cancer.
-
bcincolorado. Is it the stress or the blockers? Did you have chemo? I wonder if chemo damages teeth also. Ah jeez, so sorry you are going thru this on top of everything else. I better start taking better care of mine and make that dental appointment.
-
(((bluebird))), thank you
-
Thanks. Freaked out about the whole denture thing. All my stress has always gone to my mouth anyway. Don't know what all caused this. Since I have to start stupid Prolia now....more dumb needles too......they wanted me to see dentist. I've shrunk 2" since being on Femara and think my bone loss was from that and cause me to lose my bridges too I had on my back teeth. Now dentist says might as well give it up at this point and not spend more money getting it fixed since I'll lose it on Prolia. UGH!!! Cancer is the pits. I was first in my family to have it.
-
bcincolorado- so sorry you’re dealing with the teeth issue! Before you agree to anything with this dentist, I’d go for a second opinion and maybe even a third. Prolia and other bone building drugs can cause osteonecrosis of the jaw but it is rare. It is also documented as usually occurring after tooth extraction where things don’t heal properly. Meds like Prolia that have crazy sounding side effects that don’t seem to make sense (it’s supposed to build bone not deteriorate it) tend to make headlines even though the incidence is rare. With that information, I wouldn’t want any extractions at if at all possible. Not even sure you should wear dentures over exposed bone. Definitely a second opinion needed. Here’s links to an article that discusses it:

I'm on my way to a longish future with tamoxifen and a very good prognosis. She's just decided to stop treatment to 'get a few good days before she dies'. She has a 9 year old daughter and a husband who lives and breathes for her. But for the grace of God (or whomever you believe in) go I. I have posted here before. I don't know what to say or do or how to act but I am running out of time to say it or do it or act it. Cancer stinks.
I just got home from a family holiday to find out that She's already been admitted to hospice and is currently so heavily medicated that she's not lucid. 35 days. between then and now. So horrible.
And then, she's gone.

I am so sorry molliefish, *sending out a virtual hug*
-
Mollie~I am so very sorry! For you! Please accept my hugs of friendship and wishes for finding peace somehow! ~M~

More dam snow coming lol . That’s how my clothes line looks right now!
-
Mollie, my condolences...so sad. I hate this disease!!
-
Mollie, so sorry to hear about your friend.
Dianarose, brrrrrr!
-
Dianarose- lol@ pic, gotta love those nor’easters...3 last week, sick of them. Personally I use it as an excuse NOT to do laundry.
-
Mollie, so sorry.
-
I'm so sorry Molly...I hate this stupid disease...
Lump in my throat...just learned of the passing of a very kind woman - who used to work behind one of coffee carts - near my office.
Every day - we would talk about things...mainly about her DD and my DD (and, how hard school is). Her DD is close to my DD's age...
I never shared with her that I had BC (as I've only told very few people) - but we talked about many things...
She went into the hospital for back pain...and it turned out to be Stage IV cancer. (I don't know what kind of cancer, but, I assume likely BC).
Anyway, there is a hole in my heart for this sweet lady and a feeling of deep sadness for her daughter...
Group ((((Hugs))))) ..
-
Maybe there would be a way to get a message to her daughter about what her mom meant to you. She will hear lots of condolences from family and friends and stories about how kind her mom was. It might mean even more coming from a total stranger. I don't know why I think this but I do.

Jaycee....what a thoughtful idea....and I’m glad you did think of it. My dad died back in 1999 from mesothelioma. Before he got sick he jogged every morning and would have a rest half way at a local McDonalds. He got to know the morning gals well. At his funeral five of them came creeping into the service dressed in full mcd’s uniforms looking very sheepish. We had no idea who they were and why mcd’s employees were doing there. After the services we found out they had seen my dad’s obit and saw that their shift ended just in time to make the funeral. They were very upset that my dad had passed and felt they had to pay their respects. Those wonderful ladies touched our hearts more than they will ever know. I knew my dad was one of those people that touch others lives, simply an awesome man....those ladies confirmed it. Dancing Elizabeth it’s something you might consider...if you’re able of course

Dinarose---you must be sick of snow up there! Love the photo though!

Thank you all. It's been quite an emotional 72 hours. Another friend of mine lost his father and another friend welcomed a beautiful Grandson. I feel grateful to have met my friends and been involved in their lives, grateful to have the chances that I do to see my own children grow up. It is my Son's 13th birthday tomorrow. What a wondrous world.

Very P*)$#+ Off. Gettin our 4th nor’easter and instead of the college closing where my hubby works he has to go in for a few hours. I know the excuse they are going to use for not closing being “the storm we had last week wasn’t bad but the news reports were saying it was was going to be so we have to stay open this time”. Hubby was livid that he has to go in as when they are saying it’s going to be bad is in the afternoon and evening, so he’s leaving early!
-
Idiots!!! Safety first ? What ever happened to that??
-
Mollie - a big happy birthday and congrats to your son. Hoping today helps you cope with your loss...I’m sure it will. 13 years old, awesome...fasten your seatbelt lol
-
Micmel, the people that run the community college he works atare idiots. He just texted me that even though he is leaving early in a hour they are closing the college around noon! They don’t care about the safety of their students or staff and faculty! The only thing important to them is $$$$
-
that is really frustrating, I can tell you where I am. It's bad. Everything is closed and we already have about 7 to 8 inches and more is coming. It's supposed to snow until 8 pm or later tonight. It's coming down fast. I am sending safety thoughts to you DH!

Oh joy! Just got the weather alert pop up on the cell. We're being attacked overnight and into tomorrow.
-
For a change Maine is only supposed to get 3-6. We can handle that. We all need Spring and nice weather. We still have at least 3 feet on the ground already
-
Still waiting for it to start here in my area of Connecticut. They are saying either late afternoon or early evening it will hit.
-
Whoever ticked Elsa off needs to apologize RIGHT NOW!!!
-
Dianarose - the picture shows the kind of snow I fell into when I was trying to feed the neighbor's birds. I had to pull myself up the pole.
Steaming for the way the ultrasound and scans are not reported thoroughly and properly. Enough said.
Getting out of this chair.
-
A few inches of wet, slushy snow here. suburbs got more.
-
My heart aches for all you people in the northeast! You have sure had a rough winter! Trying to deal with all of it and medical stuff too is the pits! May you get sun soon!!!! You sure deserve it and a nice long summer!!!!!
