Yes, Allison, piping in with my best wishes that you manage rads well.
And Carrie- I can't imagine. 8 or 9 in painspeak is way high. Also sending the gentlest of hugs.
-
I hope that TE pain eases. I had my exchange back in 2013, and I can sleep on my stomach. But.... I was. A or B beforehand and am a B or C now. If you are bigger, it may differ. I rarely wear a bra. That part of this has been the only "good" thing. Rads better not screw thatup!!!!!
-
I knew I had a superhero alter ego!
-
That's me too Lee! I'm pretty sure I have a problem with my TE. Not because of a normal fill but because...well..I always assume the worst! I am still very uncomfortable. I do have Valium so that helps some. We have plans with friends tonight who we haven't seen in a while. I was so looking forward to it as I was feeling pretty good. Then I get a double fill. Why would I think that's a good idea?!?! All I can do is push through it and learn. I don't have much to go.
My upper back is killing me ever since the fill yesterday. Related?? DH says no but I think it must be from the overkill. I mean overfill.

Ladies that had lymph surgery - I have cording in my underarm that I think runs down to my elbow- it is very tight and sore. The therapist Thursday did very light massage to losen it along my lat muscle in my back and tricep. I feel like it should be harder?
Anyway, yesterday it REALLY HURT MORE and today I woke up with a burning, searing pain in my tricep and back of shoulder - it went away now that I'm up and moving but what can I do about this cording? The PT lady is adamant that light massage will get rid of it - but I would like it gone fast and it seems like that is going to take forever? Do I just need patience?
Thank you! This is so frustrating, I'm dying to get back to lifting weights also :-(
-
omg Lee, I am so with you! I've had gas cancer for about a week. Intellectually I know it is my digestive system starting to work correctly again, but mentally.......
What an awesome find in that picture!
-
Princess - my cording resolved on its own. My PT gave me a list of stretches to do, but I'm a bad patient at times and I never did them (ooops).
-
Lee, I'm Anxiety Girl too.
Carrie37, the back issue can be related to the TE. Mine used to hurt after fills and I was told that TE was the cause
-
I have been out of the loop. Everything has been crazy. Appointments every day and exhaustion has hit. I have been thinking of you all. I am trying to catch up on all the updates. I'm here. Sore, tube is gone, no real issue with my eye besides the pitting and shattered cornea on the right. I did develop a bacterial infection in the right eye. My bone scan showed arthritis in my knees, ankles, feet and degeneration in my back. So I think that's it!
-
I'm here too. Reading but not posting. Went back to work 2 weeks ago. I have been obsessing about recurrance and lurking in the death and dying thread. Not sure why but trying today to stay away from that. Soooo sick of everyone asking how I am. I want to scream physically fine but emotionally will never be the same!!! But I don't. Also my mom who is disabled thought it was a good idea to bring her older but much more mobile sister to live at her house. Sister has dementia and it is not going well or so I hear from sibs. Mom won't talk to me as I told her not to do it. Now when sibs call me to tell me how bad it is, I just say, "so you are going there to help then?". Shuts them right up. I can not clean up others messes when I am just surviving myself. On gd note I leave for ID this week to go visit DD1, hubby and puppy. Hope to relax for few days. Hugs to all as we struggle through this.

I feel like I'm going to lose it! I feel like I'm just getting by with my own stuff and getting by taking care of the kids, homework, sports, etc....meaning I have enough on my plate at the moment,
Yesterday discovered my daughter has head lice!!! In the big picture probably I'm overreacting, but my goodness I'm already fatigued/tired, and now am spending my time washing all bedding, clothes in the house, vacuuming, and spending hours shampooing the 3 kids and combing out nits out of their thick long hair!
Of course I don't know how long it's going take to get them out of my house, so this can take awhile! I just want to cry. Thanks for letting me vent!

PB-I'm so sorry you're dealing with so much! We went through that when mine were little and that was bad enough. I wasn't dealing with all the cancer/treatment stuff. I can tell you're a good mom and hope you get some help with everything on your plate. Sending my most positive mojo:)
I've been out of the loop too. Just getting by at work and appointments. Still having nerve pain and even though my rheumatologist prescribed naltrexone I had a voice mail from compounding pharmacy stating insurance won't pay,do I still want? Will find out how much on Monday. Trying to stay positive and scanning your chatter makes it easier. Starting Tamoxifen tonight after obsessing for four days! I'm an anxiety girl too:)
Happy Sunday to you all!
-
PB- ugh I'm so sorry! How much more can be laid at your doorstep? Thinking calming thoughts for you with an energy boost.
Diane- I hope it's not too expensive and you can at least try it. It seems like you will know fairly quickly if you will get relief based in other reports? Hope so, good luck with the Tamox too.
-
Diane, my son in law said it costs him $57 a month. Also call that Skips pharmacy in Florida (561) 218-0111. It might be cheaper there. Three weeks on it, he is still having no pain, keeping fingers crossed
-
sounds like we are all going through more emotional crap now then we did through earlier treatment. So im guessing it is normal and that we will all bounce back eventually. Sometimes knowing that it is normal helps.
Thinking of you all.
Katy, have you checked your Skype? I've sent messages and tried ringing. I've not used it before so I don't know if I'm doing something wrong.
-
PBoi - oh that's terrible lice is the WORST. I had a lice lady come when my kids had it - if you have to do their hair again let me know, her technique is really really easy and works on the first try with no harsh chemicals.
-
PB!! I am so sorry you have to deal with that. I was paranoid my kids were going to get it while I was out of state having surgery because they were sleeping over at friends. I asked my sister to check their heads to put my mind at ease and she wouldn't do it. The reason I was so worried was also because their is a strain of super lice going around that requires you to see a doctor and get a prescription. I am going to find the article for you to see if it is in California. I know it was here in Illinois. That way maybe you won't waste time trying to treat it at home when it needs treatment from a doctor, although either way, I would call your doctor because they can likely tell you if they are seeing cases of it locally. I wish you the best.
-
-
Thanks everyone! These lice are so frustrating! Thank you so much for the link Allison, as I was suspecting the Nix I tried isn't working!
As much as I dislike my super short hair now, for once I'm glad I don't have my long hair now...lol!

PB - we did the cetaphil lotion method to kill the critters - works awesome!! Then to get eggs we did the baking soda/pantene mix and it only took 1 treatment to get them gone and Jessie has LONG thick hair. Good luck!
-
ThePrincess...so glad you posted that, just did the Cetaphil lotion method this morning and praying it is going to work. What is the baking soda/Pantene mix? My daughter has long thick hair too! And now found a nit on my other daughter...sigh!
Sorry everyone for taking over this thread with lice talk..,you gals are so helpful...and I don't know how to stop this!
PB
-
PB: Don't feel bad at all. It is great if anyone here can help.
-
Pboi, been through head lice, anybody with kids gets it. Post away!
-
So mix a bowl of pantene conditioner w/some baking soda, to make a thick thick paste - you'll rub that ALL OVER AND THROUGH her hair -espeicailly the scalp. This coats the eggs so they are big enough to get caught in the comb - use a METAL lice comb not plastic was what the lice lady told me. grab a small section, put the comb on the scalp SUPER CLOSE and pull it thru, wipe comb off on paper towel and do it again. With the eggs coated like that the comb will get them. This takes a while but it gets the eggs off and isn't toxic or resistant. Eggs on the scalp are the ones you're looking for - the ones that are already lower on the hair shaft will not hatch as they need the body heat of the head to stay alive. Feel free to ask more questions - the cetaphil was a pain but very very effective on the live ones.
GOOD LUCK!
-
LOL at 'lice lady'.
-
I know right? Her business was 24 hour /anytime lice removal! She was here 60 minutes after I called her!
-
here is a picture of the charm I bought for the traveling bracelet. It's an hour glass if you can't tell. Just makes me think of all the time we have spent waiting for one thing or another. Test results, pathology reports, surgery, yada yada yada. I agree Sharon that I feel much more emotional now. I had a day today where I was really missing my long hair. I just want my old life back and it won't happen. Emotionally, I will never be the same. Did I mention that I hate cancer?!?! Anyway the bracelet is headed your way Avmom. I hope to get it in the mail tomorrow. I hate to part with it because it has brought me comfort but we all need that! Like today when I was feeling sorry for myself and my lack of hair. I know that you all feel the same way. Having the bracelet makes me feel close to you all. Gentle hugs to all!!
-
It's beautiful, Carrie! Such a clever idea. I'm so sorry you are mourning your hair...and your life. But also just a wee bit happy the bracelet brought you comfort. I know it will be a welcome sight to Avmom.
Thanks for carrying on our little tradition, and adding to its mojo.
