And mcook, you don't even have to ask about tagging along, I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say it was just assumed you would.
-

-
liefie: I dont think for one moment, this will be the last get together.

Okay girls, i just booked a suite with two Queens at Homewood Suites in Coralville, Iowa!! Go mcook, go mcook!! Sheila:)
liefie, I've probably asked you before, but where do you live?
-
Swgee, I live on Vancouver Island on the west coast of British Columbia, not far from the mainland.
-
Joanne and Scottie and maybe Tazzy
I google mapped it lol, to Chicago is very simple!!! 401-I94 pretty much all the way. Toronto - Hamilton - Detroit - Ann Arbor - Kalamazoo area - Chicago!!!!
9 hours 16 minutes and 834 km. isn't there a song about Kalamazoo??
From there a little trickier but still easy enough 290 - I88 - I80. Chicago - Lisle - Franklin Grove - Carbon Cliff area - Coralville!!! 3hours 52 min 362 km. -
If I go, I'll be using my Hilton Points for a room, so anyone short on funds and who might not go for that reason is free to share my room. I would also be driving from Omaha, so if a flight is chaper to there and you don't mind the drive approx 4 hours), company would be welcome.
-
Kalamazoo ... can't wait -- I do NOT care what time it is ... I am stopping for lunch .... it might have to be TO GO ... I love this place .... mmm

Haven't been to one for 3 years or longer ....
-
If there isn't a song about Kalamazoo.... I am sure we'll have one by the time we get there. Schlotzskys looks good to me for lunch.
-
Schlotzskys it is!!!
We will have to make the song table danceable lol -

Oooo Ghiradelli carmel bars. You gals won't want to come to Iowa if you stop there.
SWgeeWI looks like our posts crossed this morning. Thanks for reserving the room.
-
I can see us now in the hotel ... Chocolate jujubes, wine and Ghiradelli chocolate ... We will have to bring some for sure ....
The hotel has kitchens with fridge and stove ... We can have some good times. Closer to the date we can ask for rooms adjoining or at least on the same floor. -
Sweet! You guys are great at organizing thank you! So excited!! I can't wait to hug you all!!
-
Joanne

SwGee, thanks for booking the room! I still need to request the time off work, but I think it will be OK.
The song: "I've got a giiiiirl in Kalamazoo. (Boop-ee-doop-doo)
I only know that part of the song because one of the characters in the TV show MASH sang it.
-

I know it would be fun to go out to dinner ..... Homewood Suites has outdoor grills so it could be fun to have a bbq too --- we can think about it as we get closer. We can have a nice party outside on their patio.
I am looking forward to this .... ROAD TRIP !!!!!
-
BBQ sounds good!! We may be tired of eating out every night too, I know when I go away after about 3-4 days of restaurant meals 2-3 times a day I just look forward to a home cooked meal.
-
I think that would be fun to have a bbq.
-
The manager responded to me that he would like to help by offering a 20% discount. Can you send me,your confirmation numbers so I can forward on to him.
