I would love to join you ladies and could swing the room but the airfare has gone up so much in the last year that I dont think I can swing that. When my son and I went last year it was 320 roundtrip for both of us and now they want over 400 for just one.

Hi ladies,

I am so looking forward to seeing all of you again - and meeting the newbies!!!  We now have Kahunaville booked for Saturday morning breakfast, yea! 

Just FYI for those of you that wanted to do this - the old zip line was closed down late last year to make way for them building a new and improved zip line (called Slotzilla).  It's supposed to consist of two different levels of zip lines (and be longer), but from what I can see it looks like only one of the lines will be open by September (the lower seated line).  The upper level line (you lay down and fly) is not scheduled to open until the end of the year........

A change in plans......DH has to go to Dallas for training the week of the get-together.  Normally we would drive to Vegas arriving on Thursday.  However, DH can't leave Dallas until Friday.  So I am trying to talk him into flying from Dallas to Vegas on Friday and I will pick him up at the airport and then he can drop me off wherever we are meeting.

Since I will be driving alone - I might decide to get there on Wed and camp out with heymoose and mom for the day.  I hate the fact that I will be driving 7 hours by myself and I may end up staying in St. George overnight to rest up before making it the rest of the way.

This really sucks because the training was supposed to happen in August and they moved him to the September class.

I really hope he can trade places with another engineer but I don't see that happening.

It would be great if I could convince him to take a cab to the Aria and pick up the van as I hate driving on the strip especially on a Friday night.

Count me in for Gilley's!  I'm a line dancing fool...............used to be a dance teacher of country western dance way back when in college, in TEXAS!!! I've taken a few dance lessons in the past couple of years, including some current line dancing.  I'm sure they'll come back quick. For anything else, find me a man to dance with, though. Since I am driving in Thursday, leaving So. Cal after work at about 4 pm, I probably will be to the Aria by 8 pm.  I think my roomie is checking in before that, so.....I'll work out getting into my room and dressed and then meet y'all there.

marlegal, yes I was serious about the props!  Some even wear tiara's!  The t-shirt/tank top is available at a website that was in the string for last years re-union.  You may find it there, or someone can look it up.  I'll try ot find it and come back here to edit this to add for all. The boa's are for the Piano Bar, which, by the way, is at the New York, NY casino.  It's pretty awesome. We take up half the bar and they seat us all together.  They LOVE us!!!

It's a shame about the zip line being down, but it is always good to have positive change and maybe next year it will be even better!!!

Gosh I'm getting so excited.  Last year being my first experience, I was so nervous and almost backed out.  This year, I understand why everyone was so excited last year. All you "newbies"....just wait!!!

Hey Marlegal just wanted to jump in here and say that before BC I was NOT a pink kind of gal.  Boas & tiara's never on my radar...but you know....Vegas is just kind of different!  By no means do you need to go to that end of the spectrum if it's no fun for you but please consider wearing a black tshirt to the piano bar...I think you will enjoy being seen as part of the tata group.  If not then there are dark corners to hide in at the last minute   And yes you must do the zip line if you havn't already.  Last year I went with 2 other tata buddies and we had a blast!

SheChirple I'm going to stick with you to learn any line dances! I totally S#ck at anything but freestyle dancing...and even then I probably think I'm better than I really am.  LOL.  Too many years of no dance partner since hubby is always on stage playing and I'm dancing by myself.

Thanks Journey. I have no problem being part of the group! I've just never in the last eight yrs cared to put on anything 'identifying'. Just a personal choice, but I applaud others who do and proudly walk arm in arm with them! No dark corners for me

Marlegal - I felt the same way but Vegas is just totally different.  I don't do the pink thing here but I proudly wear my TaTa t-shirt in Vegas.  I don't do the pink boa as I have major issue with hot flashes but I do wear a tiara.  After all where else can you wear a tiara and feel like a princess but not look out of place?????

Vegas is the time to let your hair down and just have loads of fun and you can do whatever YOU want to do.

Journey - I don't know how to line dance but am willing to learn even if I look like a major fool - totally uncoordinated, etc.  You should have seen my try to take belly dancing lessons - LOL.  Either my feet work or my arms work but never together.
