One more day gals...one more day. Tomorrow is last rads treatment. So happy this leg will be over! Know y'all are sick of hearing my complaints about rads...sooo, giving you a heads up...tomorrow is happy dance day.
-
LovesToFly: incredibly loud cheer! (I don't think I could ever do that.(
-

Loves to Fly - Great pose! It's great to continue on with everything that you can manage!
-
Happyhammer - Yay!!!! for end of Rads...and complain away...it is tough the last few weeks, there's no denying that!!! In a way Im glad I couldnt have rads this time, apparently you cant have rads twice to the chest...who knew...LOL
-
thanks ladies.

ChiSandy- YES! Real names....I am Mary Mallette- Southern double name...last name Wood so I go by Mary Mallette like Mary Anne or Mary Beth...not just "Mary"....are you Sandy?
-
Happy Hammer: Congrats!
LovestoFly: What a fantastic picture and a wonderful reassurance. I'm very active, and have been at least a little worried about being able to continue practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, yoga and weight lifting. I know I'll have to ease myself in after surgery, but it's good to know that I can still be active.
-
Sooo, of course, you guys make me teary....what support...you "hear" me even though we are not even together. Happy dance for sure tomorrow...I do know that being HER 2 pos while in itself is not great....gives me a safety net after chemo and rads...love this group!! SOOO positive even when having bad days...good stuff!
-
Poodles - Oh, what an emotional time all the way around. I can understand, too, that if this was your first time seeing an in-ground burial that this would be throw you for a loop. The SIL was so caught up in emotions and grief. Is your husband's family Italian? I remember when my Italian grandmother died and I had to tell my kids, "You know in movies when people throw themselves on top of the casket? Prepare yourselves." I hope the family starts to find some peace.
ChiSandy - THANK YOU! My husband said, "Print that off so I can take notes." Haha. He's the details guy. Regarding Chicago and dinner--that sounds great! I'll let you know when we're coming and hopefully you'll be in town!
Peggy and Lovestofly - I don't mean to bring up our book again, but that Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is going to take on a whole new meaning a couple of weeks into chemo. haha!
Happy Hammer -- Good luck tomorrow. Someone in another thread said to smile the ENTIRE time during the rad buzzes. It'll make ending rads real rather than surreal. (Some people get a "let-down" after chemo and rads, so focusing on the excitement of finishing cannot be understated!) You got this!

1step
I am very active. I run regularly (spin during the winter), weight lift, practice yoga (and the yoga I practice is a vigerous of practice, not relaxing). I started spinning again about a week after surgery, running after about two weeks. Working back up to my normal weights for lifting and yoga has been a bit harder because of the under arm, but I am there now. And so relieved! I read stories about women that never really regained their strength and mobility, I was very scared of that happening to me.
Chemo has hit my fitness a bit harder, just because until day 10 or so I didn't have a lot of energy. I work full time, and have two kids, so it's important for me to conserve my energy for other things! I've been making sure to go for brisk walks every day, and hit my fit bit steps every day. I did some weightlifting this weekend and yoga yesterday, so I'm slowly putting things back in it when I feel good (right now I am about 14 days past chemo, and feel 100%) but I'm not pushing myself to do anything more than walk on the days that I am not feeling really really well and energetic. I figure if I can keep up my walking throughout, and work out harder even just a few times a times a cycle... I will have a better chance staying somewhat fit and getting back to my regular level of fitness afterwards

Great pic lovestofly!
I just checked out my patient portal and saw that 2 appts were scheduled for this Thursday and Friday that I had no clue about!
One is nuclear image testing on Friday... Is that a pet scan? Everything I read about it indicates that Drs order it for a suspicion of a later stage, symptoms, other tumors that weren't picked up on MRI, mets or node involvement... Of course I have a call in to my dr., but I was never told that they were ordering this test. I was told that I was going in Monday for seed implant and pre-op,then surgery Tuesday.
A bit confused/concerned.
Had a bit of a break down last night. It's so exhausting waiting and worrying and trying to act normal and happy for my family. My husband asked what was wrong last night n I just broke down crying. I told him there's nothing that he can fix.
Seeing lovestofly picture today is giving me my strength back.
-
MLP3 I'm glad I could help you feel a bit stronger. You've got this I promise! One month ago, or eight weeks ago, I couldn't imagine ever feeling this good and normal again, certainly not while I was still in treatment!
Do not freak out about the scan, just call and see, I've been on a few different BC boards both here and on babycenter, and there are lots of different schedules with regards to when they do different tests and scans. I think it's mostly just the doctors preference or the protocol wherever you are being treated.
-
Just got the call... All of that meant that surgery is now FRIDAY! Seed and pre-op Thursday. Yikes! Need to switch gears here now that I don't have the weekend to prepare.😬
-
LovestoFly - you really are Defying Gravity! great pic
Happy Hammer - May you be Rad finishing rads!
Call me by my real name by all means - I'm Suzanne. The Brithael is actually the name of my "toon" in World of Warcraft. Yes, this Grandma is a gamer.
50% through with chemo! Feeling good today, but aware of the "crash" tomorrow from the Dex (hit me hard last time, so forearmed,) plus I get my Skele-gro shot today. Hoping this first two weeks of SE's will be easier this time, than last. At least I know what to expect.
-
yeah!!! Friday that lump gets evicted. Seed is easy I did it...its just like a biopsy (I went to work after NP)
-
MLP3, Yikes! Nice that they told you! Good that it is sooner but sometimes it is difficult to re-arrange everything you've put in place. I'd be pissed and happy
Obviously in your pocket!!
HUGS!
-
Hi everyone, checking in but cannot possibly get caught up with 5 pages of posts. My DS was really sick over the weekend and I am exhausted. We don't have weekend help any more.
-
MLP3, in your pocket for Friday.
-
Aww Molly, hope everybody feels better ASAP.
-
Eviction notice has been served😎
How many nodes did you ladies have removed during initialsurgery?
-
MLP3- wow...glad you checked the portal and put in a call to the doc. Will be in your pocket Thurs and Fri- you've GOT this! SN only- and, I as lucky since doc could get to it from Lumpectomy incision- so, no underarm incision. That was a big plus!
-
Brit (I may not be able to learn everyone's real name haha) Hoping your SE's are minimal this time round! At least you have an idea of what to expect now.
Haha, Sloan, for the book reference
Rads is DONE! Yay! Thanks for the support about all of that.
LTFly- you are rockin' on with the fitness! I was having a hard time hitting 10,000 steps but danced around the house for 40 mins yesterday and got them in. Heading to yoga when skin heals up a little. Not sure I will ever be able to do the pose you posted but will see what I CAN do! You are definitely an inspiration.
-
MLP3 - They took 5 sentinel and 2 tag alongs. My BS said they take whatever lights up. I'm sending you lots of positive vibes for strength and healing. Good luck on Friday. I'll be in your pocket with everyone else, it sure will be crowded in there!
-
Molly - sorry to hear that your Son was sick this weekend. I hope you can get some rest today! ((hugs))
-
Happy Hammer - congrats on finishing Rads. Woo Hoo!
-
Mlp I had 2 nodes removed
Happyhammer, when I have difficulty reaching my steps, I often put on my favorite music and dance while I am folding laundry or doing errands like that. It really piles up the steps and also makes me feel good!
-
LTFly- I just kind of did my own Zumba class. It was fun, worked up a god sweat and got the steps. Am going to try to do it daily...but, dang, am sooo tired today. Chalking it up to the end of rads.
-
Rads is over!!!
-
loves to fly. Love your yoga photo. I have an apt with breast surgeon in 45 mins to get results from lumpectomy.I want to get this next stage started.
