I just returned from my morning walk..foggy today
-
Hello fellow bird enthusiasts. I am at the beginning of this process with lumpectomy next week, then chemo then rad, and hormones for forever. I hope to be able to keep going out birding almost every day as that is my sanity. For those who did chemo were you able to get out to bird any?
-
I went through chemo in the winter. Went eagle watching a couple of times. We're big backyard feeders so got to watch from the comforts of home. Going through chemo, it was good to get out as much as possible. Exercise was a big help. Best wishes as you start your treatment. I'd call it a journey, but I'd rather journey to Tahiti.
-
Lisa, great pics. Love the fog. We have had quite a few foggy damp days this week.
Birder, I didn't have chemo but during rads I walked all the time and that helped the fatigue. Hope all goes well. My photography passion really ignited because of my bc journey and since you already have a passion I say go for it and you will probably feel better.
Auntienance, I have never seen an eagle but hope to see one as I know at least one place they winter. However it requires many, many stairs and I managed this place in the fall when I had been walking but now in the winters I am resuming my swimming so it is not the same thing. Yeah, a journey to Tahiti would be nice!

Bandwoman, I'm in northeast Missouri. We get lots of eagles this time of year but we went watching yesterday and saw 4! We usually see 40 at this time. No white pelicans either, which we usually have as well. I don't know where they're dining this year, but it's not here.
-
Aunti, I am in a suburb of Chicago. In the fall I went to Starved Rock State Park here in Illinois and made it to the top called Eagles Ridge. I wanted to check this place out as in January you are supposed to be able to see eagles that are wintering there. The trek up the steps was really difficult as I have a bad knee. The steps are some original ones from many years ago and some are so steep it was actually harder going back down than up. I am not in walking shape now and fear the icy conditions in the winter so I am not sure if I will make it this January or not. I have a thyroid biopsy tomorrow morning and am really waiting to see if my life is going to change again or not. I did see a bunch of white pelicans during that visit. I will post that picture. I posted it way back in Oct. on here I think.
Twelve on a log!

Wrenn.. I can download captions etc here.. But don't know how to add photos on here out of my phone photo album.. Is there an easy way.?
-
I will let someone else answer that. I think you'll need to post them somewhere else first. Flickr, facebook, some sort of online storage.
-
I post them from Google+photos from my phone or from pix I take from the camera on my phone

Wow. Those are really colorful. What general part of Australia do you live in?
-
Hi Wren, I live in Brisbane in Queensland - Its summer here and very hot!
-
Long Billed Corella's taken on my early morning walk last week.
-
I should send these to my birder DS and DIL. They might want to go with us to Aus to look at birds. They went to the Galapagos on their honeymoon and worked with birds for years. Now they're teaching their boys to be birders too. Last year they saw 122 species.
