Hi there got all these birds this week while visiting Panama.
-
Fabulous!
-
feelingfeline was kind enough to introduce me to this thread. I don't consider myself a bird watcher but took plenty of photos of birds when I lived in South Florida. Many were taken in a Florida preserve. I've put some of them into collages.
I'm getting ready to go to the theater so will get back another day to add some names...unless ya'll list them before I return.
-
Beautiful. Recognise the grey heron as they live in Ireland too.
-
Mumito: Your bird photos make me want to visit Panama. Breathtaking.
Viewfinder: These are absolute treasures. I see a Roseate spoon bill, a cormorant (saw my first one ever in Wales), egrets and others I have not seen before so do not know their names. Love the one with the red head. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful summer photos!
-
These are from my phone, so the quality isn't great. Camino de Santiago.
-
The one with the sand on it's bill is a Sandhill Crane. The very ugly one is a Woodstork. I did a search recently about the ugliest birds in the world and was surprised the Woodstork was not among the list!
Others include: ibis, limpkins, anhingas. Anhingas & Cormorants can look similar but cormorants have a curved, hooked bill opposed to Anhingas straight, long bill.
-
I didn't look at the posts previous to this page. ksusan and mumito your photos are terrific and very interesting! This thread is fun.
-
Here are two photos of seagulls gathering around a fisherman's boat...just waiting for the fisherman to toss them a few fish. The photos were taken at a small fishing village in South Florida.

I took these next shots in India this week

-
We have one more stop in India, then SiraLanka, then Pukhet hope to get more good bird shots as we travel
-

I had way to much fun on the beaches and shopping the rest of my Asia trip so no new bird photos from there. But when we got home to Canada I heard about this famous owl hanging out here in Newmarket and had to capture it.
my DH took this one. Northern Hawk owl
