The guy has no fear of skin cancer?

Jazzy again you make me smile. You are such a good friend and I know he appreciates the time you took to take him out to lunch, bet it made him smile also. As for the e-mail...you have to do what is best for you, she probably is feeling guilty about ignoring you and that was her way of reaching out, oh well your friendship will never be the same. I had alot of people who walked away the first time and this time I have friend that will talk to me and see me and honestly has gone to a dr appt with me, but can't deal with the whole chemo thing, so she never went and honestly neither anybody but the twins, my friend Rita and my dd2 went 1 time....which is why I would like to sit with someone is who alone at chemo.
Lily I am so sorry, ((((((((((BIG GROUP HUG)))))))))
Teka can you give me some I am uneven and since I am losing weight that is the first place it leaves...
Cammie....how is work?
Sally HI!!!

-
Teka- good point! Most of the rest of us lather up with 45-60 SPF out here but don't think he touches the stuff! He has fun where ever he goes!
Blondie- yes, no doubt the friend is feeling guilty. I think I am okay just keeping in touch a couple times a year to let her know I am doing okay without the need for conversation.
My challenge this evening is to finish packing a suitcase that does not exceed 50 pounds. I put it on the scale and taking some things out. Jazzy wants to take too many outfits on her trip!
-
Yes, as I see myself in a mirror!
Charles Courtney Curran (Hartford, Kentucky, 1861 - 1942) American painter.
-
Teka- aren't you a pretty thing!
I am watching Gravity on HBO with your boyfriend, George Clooney.
-
beautiful. love it simple but awesome!! -
-
Jazzy,
I like SB but wouldn't enjoy the movie without GC.
-
Teka- I saw Gravity in the theater earlier this year and liked Clooney in it. I liked that SB had the greater role. She has had some really good parts in the movies the last few years.
Going to go finish up some outside watering, and then wind down for bed. I will be away for a bit from this thread, but may pop in next week from back east to check in on everyone.
Until then, you all take super good care of yourselves and each other, okay?
-
Jazzy,
Have a safe & fun trip ;o)
-
Happy trails, Jazzy.

Jazzy ... Have Fun!!!

Onco, good to hear from you. I always wished I could travel light even for a week. Our window attacking robin has gone away without us being able to find his nest. We have enjoyed other nesting birds.
Teka, thanks for super moon info.
My cosmos flowers are withering away. I may hunt for some new ones as I really like them. I have never had cosmos look so "finished" so early in the summer. I just have one pot of them this year. Maybe they like more growing room.
Happy Sunday everyone.
-
Nice pics everyone. Oh Jazzy I hope u have a really great time and be safe. And u are truly a good friend.
We had a big storm didn't see the moon and didn't see the inside of the house without a flashlight, no power for about 5 hrs. I hate that. But today it's seems ok but humid. So now I'll wait for the next moon.
Mags how are u doing? I hope better.
-
We didn't loose power, but a humid day.
My cosmos should bloom in August.
I remember an old mother robin dive bombing a cat, dog, and human if to close to nest.
I would enjoy a chocolate milk shake!
*Hermits* enjoy the evening!

Hi Hermits.......just got back from the shore....nice weekend..........wanted to say HI..........hugs all.....
-
-
Teka when I was a kid I was walking out of my back door to sweep the driveway (not my choice) but a bluebird kept diving at my head and I was screaming (of course) and my dad said I was scaring the bird because I was holding the broom up in the air and it thought I was attacking the nest, My dad took the bird's side, He always took nature's side. LOL
Good for u Ducky.

Funny story......a few years ago my son-in-law was trimming a medium sized tree in the front of his house......they had gorgeous landscaping and he always kept it so nice........this one morning he was trimming the tree when a Robin came out of the tree and almost pecked his eyes out.............he ran into the open garage, and hid behind his car...........Now picture this.........this guy is 6 ft.3 inches, and weighed at the time 235lbs..................after hiding there for about 5 minutes he got brave and started to walk out of the garage.................the Robin who was hiding in the tree, flew like hell out of the tree, and chased him "screaming like a little girl" back into the garage...........
My daughter watched this from the window which overlooks the front of the house............this went on for about 1/2 hour when finally he called her on the phone from the garage and told her to open the front door, and he would run across the driveway and into the house.............when ran out of the garage with a huge cover over his head that he took off his Covette that was in the garage....................me and my daughter almost peed oour pants laughing. and he never lived it down...........
-
Ducky, great story, but I can identify with your SIL. One summer a robin kept flying very close to me in a menacing manner although he never actually pecked me. He scared me into the house on several occasions. We still joke about Killer Robin.
-
Ducky that's hysterical but I don't blame him they do go for u'r eyes and they frightening when u fool with their babies. It must be a mom thing.
Did I tell u I finished all my paperwork for my oh so late (yrs) taxes and it will be mailed tomorrow. It was a toughy.
-
Just stopped in to say, "Hello to all of you ladies." Ducky, I loved your story about the robin and your SIL--so funny! Teka, I just came back too, from Virginia, visiting my DS, DIL, and lovely grandkids-age 3 and 7. Stayed 7 days; it was a lovely stay but most days I ran out of energy before the day was up. However the exhaustion, it made me feel so alive I hated to leave. Have fun on your travels. Rest of you ladies take care and I'll drop back in soon! {{Hugs to all}} -

Hi Dwll........great to hear from you....glad you enjoyed your stay with your kids........they are so much fun........
Speaking of daughters and Robins.....the same daughter....(wife of the girlie screamer).....this year was out in the front of the house and saw a baby Robin laying in the lawn..........she felt so bad, and did find the nest in the tree............she also heard that if you touch the baby, the mother will reject it, and keep throwing it out of the nest..............my SIL is a Carpenter so he has all the necessary things in the garage for protection (including the car cover)......LOL......
Well dear daugher decides she is going to play "Jack Hanna", and rescue this baby Robin.....in the garage she goes, and comes back out with "workers heavy duty gloves on, and a pair of safety goggles, along with my SIL's XXL jacket plus hat", and proceeds to approach the baby bird"....................Now the Mother Robin is sitting in another tree watching every move she makes......................she picks up the baby, as gently as she can puts him back in the nest, and proceeds to walk toward the front door..................the Mother Robin......goes into the nest, takes the baby, and tosses it out of the nest again...........my daughter puts it back, and the Mother kicks it out again...............
Now across the street there is an old man walking toward his house....................my daughter makes a final attempt to put the bird back for the 3rd time...............and the Mother throws it out again................in complete frustration, sweating like pig because of the hat, coat, and gloves, and it was 92 degrees outsdie......my daughter screams at the Mother Robin..............YOU UNGRATEFUL BASTARD.....................the old man across the street turns and yells to my daughter.................I DONT LIKE YOU EITHER, and DIDN'T ANYONE TELL YOU IT"S NOT WINTER ANYMORE..............
Moral of the story .........Don't go out when its 92 degrees dressed like Nanook of the North to rescue a baby of an ungratful Robin........when a neighbor thinks your a nut.......and tells you so.......by the way..........the baby robin.........didn't make it........my 2 grandkids are still in mourning.....lol.......guess you had to be there.........LOL
-
dwill,
I'm sure the grandkids loved your visit.
Children grow like weeds!
-
Oh chit Ducky I love the neighbors reaction--that's so funny. Now my dad told me u can touch a bird for the nest and he would all the time, putting them back and the mommy bird never kicked them out--sometimes u wonder why one person can and another can't---Altho u'r DD was vigilant maybe the costume scared the Mom. LOL
Oh I'm moving around late today, can't get going--even after coffee.
Editted to say the right name hahahaha
-
Ducky, the baby robin story is so good. Thanks for sharing.
