I remember as a child having pancakes, waffles, french toast, scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon, ham, and sausage for dinner.
Delicious!
-
Basia- you are clearly a strong woman to have survived such a severe accident. I know those events and their anniversaries stay with us forever and understand your worries. Brings back a lot of really difficult memories.
The sooner you get into surgery and follow on treatment, the sooner you will be on the other side of this. We will be here with you as you go through all that is yet to come. I am glad you have your surgery date.
-
Magdelena and Basia see that will be a special day for both if you, it'll get rid the what u don't want anymore and be a very lucky day.
Any thoughts or fears come here and share them---and Magdeken I'm so glad u like u'r surgeon it makes such a difference in everything.
-
Basia, you and I will be twinkies the 19th. I'll be thinking of you.
Breakfast for dinner? Hot doggie, it's my favorite meal of all!
Thanks everyone for your kind words. I'm feeling right at home in the hermit club.

Hi Blondie!
I just want to say that I am so impressed that after being diagnosed in 2009 with so many metastases, you have continued on to 2014! You are a trooper. What is your secret? I am so happy for you, that you are still here. Wishing you the best. Keep on keeping on!
Mausie

Hi Mausie Blondie is very special and really a trooper.
OK Ladies the 19th it is, hey May is a very special month to start anything so it's all good.
BTW I smell really good today, shower and all, but I get up to early then want to sleep most of the day. I'm so screwed up in so many ways. But I smell good.

Good Morning Hermits!!!

Ha Teka, My mom would make sausage and "fried apples" for dinner. I would say they were skillet apples not a deep fried version.
Cami-LOL
This morning we are having 'April showers' in May...our region is a month behind...
Of course I think I brought the rain on.....I washed my car yesterday.........
This is one of our local. almost famous. sandwiches. (heart attack on buns) But a delicious treat none-the-less.
I usually get corned beef, however there are a variety of fillings including a triple cheese, fish, steak, or plain egg. You can also get what ever filling you desire and have an egg added on top. I am not sure where this started, but I have never really seen this much anywhere I have traveled. Fries and coleslaw are added on top and the whole thing is pressed between thick sliced Italian bread. The coleslaw is a vinegar based version as opposed to a creamy one and is my fav. I always get my sammie with extra slaw. We used to joke that you know you like the person you're with if you are willing to eat one of these in front of them.
There ya have it ladies.......
My strange contribution for the morning.
I will add, I have taken a turn with the dial and watched each major morning show.......WOW........They are all so bad.
Horrible journalism, rushed segments, too many hosts at a round table talking over each other and the worst.....making unnecessary and strange comments which they apparently think are funny. Is it just me?????
Speaking of which I really am on many tangents...
Maybe I should get another cup of joe and get some laundry started to normalize my brain
xoxoxo

Cami, thanks for the heads up that you showered
Feeling good today, not in the mood for people, but good. Is it strange that I am going thru this "nesting" phase. I feel like I have to have the house in order before surgery and treatment.
200 channels and nothing on during the day!
Still waiting for dr.'s office to confirm for the 19th.
-
Basia, I nested before surgery and I know I have read of others doing it.
-
Before my big surgery, I cleaned my entire house...even washing down the walls. My coworker said "Who does that?" LOL You could have eaten off the floors and the walls
I found many people on the surgery threads did some version of nesting prior to the big day.
Now-a-days...I wish my house would clean itself
-
Oh Sandpiper, me too, I wish my house would clean itself. I tell myself that cleaning is exercise in order to make it seem "more fun." Since I really do need more exercise, that sometimes makes me feel happier to dust, scrub, and vacuum.
-
Mags welcome hope u feel comfortable here.
Thanks for the compliment, appreciate it.
Am at chemo so who know when I will b back on.
Gonna go bbl
-
OH I had everything figured out before surgery. Mine was scheduled on a Monday and go home on Tuesday==So I made a list for my kids of all the things I wanted don, including getting my carpet cleaned and windows. haha-I had a shopping list done for them and I was all set, bt they did have to rush everything--but I stayed in the hospital for 8 days and they had plenty of time, so when I got home I felt the house was cleaned and I was fine with it. I've always been lazy
-
Good morning. Another photo from the gardens. Planted phlox this year for the first time and it is going to town. Have a good day ladies!
-
Thanks Camillegal - you are doing very well yourself! How do you do it?
-
*Good Morning Hermits*
I've pink creeping phlox!
-
My yearly mammogram results, OK!
-
Teka, so glad your yearly mammo came out good.
Jazzy, your phlox are very pretty. Will they bloom all summer?
-
My meditation therapist was very easy to like. I am doing my homework and have to admit that I seem more relaxed and happy. The cancer institute where I had radiation provides two consultations with her for free.
-
Yesterday, I had yearly mammogram and was told to wait for a possible call back
or an OK letter in the mail next week
, then the kind X-Ray Tech suggested I call MO at the Cancer Center for the results this afternoon.
Lucky Me, the kind MO Nurse got permission from MO to get the results!

OK, about the nesting thing. I'm kinda feeling it too, but I do it a bit differently. With all my other health issues - arthritis, fibromyalgia, degenerative disc disease in my lower back - I'm not the keeper of the house any more. Three years ago we moved from a tri-level to a single level because my knees couldn't handle stairs. (No cartilage left in either.) Then my cousin moved in with us, and she is a real gem. She's 77, but in much better shape than I am, can't stand to be idle for 5 minutes, loves to shop, loves to cook, and she and my husband do all the vacuuming etc. To be honest, I've never warmed up to this house, so I haven't ever felt the need to make it cozy (by my standards). My cousin, when she's home, hangs out in her room, hubby hangs out in the den, and I hang out either in my studio or bedroom. It's always been just fine that way (hermit, remember?). But in anticipation of the surgery May 19, hubby decided it was time for some change. Our den furniture is in good shape except the microfiber has been peeling off the seats. And when he heard that I would probably need to sleep in a recliner for a while, and that I really didn't want to be isolated, he decided to splurge. I'm going to try to post what his splurge looks like, my first pic here. Ah, it worked. This is what nesting looks like in my house. A pair of recliners for him and me, and the chaise for my cousin. Any suggestions for pillows?
-
Seasonal pillows!
-
Magdalene, that sofa unit looks very comfortable and cozy. What a fun way to nest ... comfortable, retail therapy.
-
Seasonal pillows! I love it, Teka. Guess I'll have to scour the interwebs for that, huh?
-
-
Teka- congrats on the clear mammo! Such good news to hear always!
I want to get more phlox for the front yard and will look for some pink next.
Sally- not sure but think they do bloom all summer. I will let you know!
Magdalene- I love Tuesday Morning for pillows if you are up for shopping and you have one nearby. Kohls has some good seasonal pillows too, very affordable, and you can get those on line too.
Coming off five days in a row of command center go live. Going to yoga for some stretching and restoration. No alarm clock tomorrow morning. Will write more tomorrow since I am home!
-
yay for clean mammo!! -
-
Magdeline I love that comfortable looking sofa, recliner, And I certainly agree with Teka, the seaon now is so colorful, actually all of them are, My favorite is Christmas tho love putting Christmas pillows out--so much color, How nice of u'r DH to think of everyone.
Jazzy I'm glad u have off tomorrow cuz I know (I think) how hard u do work and u need to be home too.
