Ducky, were the 3 oldest all in diapers at one point? Yikes! Did you have help?
Blondie and Jazzy, I hope you two take real good care of yourselves so healing happens smoothly.
Good morning Teka and Cami.
I started a cold while DH was in the hospital with a COPD exacerbation this past week. He is home now, so I am going to have an "in the recliner resting" day to shoo the cold away.
I hope everyone does something nice for themselves today.
-
Jazzy...I probably bore the hell out of people talking about my family, but I am so proud of all of them........my children especially.........so many times when you have a large family.....lots of kids, there is always someone waiting for you to foul up somehow..............People think......lots of kids, lots of problems.........and sometimes that is true.........but my husband and I made sure there was more then enough love to go around.........they were spoiled with "love", not with "things"..........my daughters always tell the story of their 1st Barbie...............their friends had "Barbie".......my girls had $1.00 Store fake Barbie..........LOL..........and the funnier thing was their youngest sister (the baby) who came along several years later.....had a "real Barbie"............she never lived that down..........
When I had my cancer......I was smothered with love and concern....this past Wednesday was 3 years since my surgery...............I got 24 phone calls, text messages, and FB messages............one from each of my children and grandchildren saying "keep on fighting"..........it doesn't get better then that..........my children made a promise to their father the day he died........he said to them "take care of your mother".........they kept that promise.......
So sorry if I bore people, I am just an overly proud Mom I guess........I am blessed.......
-
Ducky- you don't bore us, you share such nice things about your family. I have so little family anymore, and look at all the children and grandchildren surrounding you that love you with such admiration. They love you and want you around to share their lives with them. It is a blessing for sure.
I have been feeling a bit frustrated with having too many piles around here that never get dealt with. So today I am focusing on putting some things in piles while are either 1) things to find a home for 2) things to take to consignment 3) things to donate or 4) that which needs to be tossed! Helped me to get some surfaces cleared off and things processed. The beginning of spring cleaning I think.
I had some errands to run today and found myself at a Trader Joe's and found this beautiful bunch of gladiolas for $5.99. Decided I needed a bit of spring time in my house this week.
Here are the glads.....
-
Jazzy, those flowers are gorgeous.
-
Jazzy they are so beautiful...Ducky you don't bore me

Jazzy thanks..........I do love my family.............and the dinner went very well......food was outstanding.....we do have a knack for cooking..................my SIL's father was so touched by what my daughter did for him..............he was in tears and hugged her and told her how kind she was to him.............he said "Nikki you are so thoughtful, and such a good person"...............her answer was "you can thank that lady in the corner........she taught me how to love"..............I was shocked, and after being angry not at what she did for him, but the fact that no one else did.....................I was so proud of her, and thought.............she made an 80 year old man happy............so that made me happy..........
You flowers are beautiful.........did you arrange them......talented girlie..............I love Trader Joe's, but don't get there too much since my daughter works 5 days a week now.......we use to go on her 2 days off, but after losing her "job share partner".........she decided to do the job herself......I miss our days together.......now she goes on a whim.........
No snow here yet, but they say 2 to 4 by the morning...........
You have a goodnight Jazzy.
Blondie.....glad I don't bore you.....hugs. Hope your good
Sally.......thanks to you too...........I guess its pride that makes me talk so much about them....and they are my life after losing my husband so young........you too have a good night.........hugs.
-

I laughed when you agreed with today.......but that can be almost any day for me...........felt good today, but did a lot of work with my daughter for a party, and all the standing takes a toll, but I'm good now.....
Hugs and come back often..........
-

Good Morning Hermies------
Lily I'm sorry u'r feeling so poorly, it sucks I know, can't u take something to help u for pain.? I take things and they do help some, I do get more tired but it helps. U'r not complaining u'r telling us how u really feel and u should . I wish we could help more but all we can do is suggest meds or something?? I don't know what. I've turned into a walking pharmacy and I never even took aspirin before so I've turned into a pusher. U do talk to u'r Docs about this right?
Oh I could eat everyone of those cupcakes--lookin' good there.
OK gathering my paperwork together for another day of work--better be better than yesterday--I actually have clothes on today not working in my PJ's, but tomorrow is PJ day for me I already know that cuz they're in the dryer now. LOL
-
Hubby & I had the ham boiled dinner.
Son had western egg sandwiches.
Daughter & BF had whatever.
-
Doesn't get better then traditional Ham and Cabbage, and buttery homemade mashed potatoes.......especially eating it with people you love............really nice day.........when my daughter and I get together we put out a heck of a meal...........family love......
-
Hermits- not sleeping well again. Was up from 2-5 a.m., and able to get another hour and a half sleep before I dragged my sorry ars out of bed. Going to be a long day.....
Cami- you sound like you are busy with work, and preparing for your day. I love working from home when I can, I am in PJs all day too!
Teka- yummy food! I am big fan of breakfast sandwiches.
Lily- I hope your cold/virus is better today. Your immune system is really down right now. Lots of fluids, rest, and soup helps too.
I stopped last night at the local grocery store to deposit a check at the Wells Fargo branch there. There were three small shamrock plants in a basket on sale. I eyed them, but started to walk away and the check out gal nearby says "do you want them? You can just have them!" So I said "sure" and then she said "and Happy Valentines Day." I looked at her funny and then she went "oops, I meant St Paddy's Day!" Everyone laughed.
Not sure what Iiked better, the free plants or the blooper?
I had a bit of the luck of the irish yesterday.
