Lily......so true.........if this is the new normal......I want to go back to abnormal...........life was better then.............ridiculous statement huh........
-
CC- I read the entry wrong. You want to use free internet and use the money saved for the Stillwater cancer counseling?
Lily- it is good to find out where you are at with the PTSD and it all makes perfect sense. It must have felt very supportive to have someone help you understand that all you are going through is to be expected. I hope there is continued healing for you as you continue on. We will be here for you.
One of my closest friends I had not heard from in awhile surfaced today. She and her sister have been caregiving to an elderly mother with severe dementia. Their mom passed yesterday. I had them all over here last summer for a gathering, and we made a special party for the mom who turned 88 last May. I gave her a pink purse I had bought for my mom, but was unable to give to her and my friend told me today her mother carried that pink purse with her everywhere she went since then. Made me feel good to hear that. They are having services this weekend, and I will be going.

Oh Jazzy that pic is beautiful.
Lily I know what u mean--I never liked that expression "the new normal" there is nothing normal about it. It's all crap, and let's face it all this positive stuff is more crapola--u can't be positive all the time, even if u never got cancer--Life isn't always positive every day is something else and having all this happening doesn't make it better, but it is tolerable so u just accept what's thrown at you an I think it's how u accept it and go with it and not fight it--that's all u can do.
Jazzy I'm sorry about u'r friends Mom, it's always sad to loose u'r parent. But so kind and to hear she always used u'r purse is a nice feeling.
-
Thanks Cami. I have had three friends going through bad times this past week. One friends mom had a bad stroke, another friend and her husband were with with a brother who was end stage liver failure (he too passed yesterday), and then the news about my friends mom. All these friends have shown up for me in some way in my hour of need and so I will for them too. I am writing out a lot of sympathy cards tonight.
As Ringo sings it so well, "I get by with a little help from my friends". So it goes.
-
Ahhh Jazzy yep it's been rough for u and yes I watched the Beatles last nite and I enjoyed the last part the best. I was a good feeling.
-
Wait does it say to I get high with a little help from my friends.?????

-
Cami- yes it did say that. I never heard that before until last night. Maybe I just need to get high?
Despite the things going on around me, a friend from NJ contacted me tonight and wants to come through town mid March and go up north to my favorite hot springs to celebrate my birthday. So what did I say, yes of course! So we made a reservation at hot springs tonight and going up mid March for a bit of soaking and girl time. She was through town last fall so I have seen her since it all went down, but now we are going to go have some fun next visit!

RIP Shirley Temple - how many of us knew she was a 42 year breast cancer survivor? I had no idea.........so thats our message of hope for the day........
-
Lily- I heard that on the new waking up here today she had passed. I did not know that about Shirley Temple either. That is a wonderful message of hope for our day.
Thank you for sharing this!
-
I think if they came to this thread, it would be the same thing! Cats and dogs rule!
-
Oh Shirley Temple, it's funny cuz my GS for some reason was asking about her the other day, and how long did she act. Wow I knew she had BC, but over the years I did forget, but she was adorable-RIP
