I had to pay out-of-pocket for the 1 time only shingles shot, and blessed no shingles while beaten down by BC treatments.
However, several members of the threads were diagnosed with shingles, but after a punch biopsy were correctly diagnosed with skin cancer!
Hubby finally got the shingles shot, which was paid (majority) by medicare. -
Teka was laughing so hard that she needed to pee, in the litter box! -
-
I haven't had the shingles shot ... thanks for the info ... will ask MO about it for me when I see him in several weeks.
The snow is finally melting here after a week or more ... it seems longer. I want to be able to resume walking which is the exercise I can "encourage" myself to do best. I did dig out my Richard Simmons Exercise to the Oldies tape when the snow fell ... just for the foot movements ... my arm is not ready for the repetitive movement. However, I find too many excuses to skip it. -
Jazzy, Cami, and other picture posters, thanks ... I love the pics. They are smile producers. -
BGirl,
Happy Happy are you 29 again? LOL
I am sooooooo behind with the post. I think it will take me 3 hours to catch up.
My 2nd Taxol is Monday- not sure it is going to happen because I have been sick for 7 days with cold and infection going on -Yikes!
It is snowing outside oh soo pretty- my excuse not to go out, LOL.
What's new? LOL Love you gals, without you I would be depressed every day. -
BTW Camill,
Love the kitty photo- super cute I too love all the photos! -
Fur u'r better not go out--I'm sure u called u'r Dr. about how u feel, that's to long for a cold or any stupid thing. If u haven't call before u plan on leaving and tell the Dr. how u feel and what's going on. Just relax and take care of u'rself---plenty of liquids and call me in the morning;;they don't say that anymore, they say call me if u need to in a week or two. LOL
-
Camill, thanks again for your advise. I did leave a message today at the cancer center. Wonder if anyone is going to call back on a Saturday? -
FurFriend, I am sending wishes that your cold and infection go away.
Cami, you are so right about the "call me in a week or two." What's that about anyway? -
I think these Docs figure u'll forget about it even if u are sick to long. We're all in the same boat.
-
-
Cami, I'm giggling at that picture. Giggles are a great feeling these days. -
Sally that makes me happy.
-
furfriend, hope you are feeling better, take care of yourself...
The dr. did all he can it is the "rules" WTF!!
Happy Saturday!!!

Hi Blondie,
You n I are neighbors
Camill, the boat photo is great. Sallie made me LOL as well!
Snow is still falling about 2-3" now. I almost bought a ton of books on Amazon and thought what the &*^# am I doing need to save that money for my niece & nephews for Christmas. Oh well i guess I was caught up in the moment or the hour more like it.I love books. LOVE books I mean!!! Need to go to library to see if they have the lastest cooking for cancer patient book. I need to change my dietary habits. I am like middle of the road. I eat decent however could do way better. I have not been eating many veggies lately. My diet as of late consist of cereals & pastas & sugar. Bad bad bad.
-
Fur how close do we live from each other...
I eat horribly..
I go to the library all he time....
-
Blondie,
I am in Montgomery Cty near Lansdale. North of Philly. -
Hi hermits- back from the gym and I went swimming today for the first time since October. Not sure what happened to me, but I lost my mojo to swim at the indoor pool when the weather got colder. I find I am more sensitive to heat and cold (and we have had extremes here the past few years with that too), but this week, I was yearning for the pool. So today I did 30 laps, the hot tub and the steam room. Very restorative.
Fur- so sorry to hear you have been under the weather. I got this sinus thing a couple weeks ago and it is still working it's way out. It would be good to find out what they say with your treatment coming up. I hope they check your white count for infection before they do anything. I would hope they would be sure that infection is out of your body before they do the next round of treatment. Enjoy the pretty snow and feel better soon!
Cami- I love the photos you are posting. They give me a good chuckle too. Especially love the boat on the rocks one!
Teka- sounds like you were having a good time in the car with the fam! Glad their was nothing more than a near miss.
Blondie- I am thinking of you today and your breathing.
Going to relax for a bit. I made some banana bread this morning and the whole house is very aromatic today! -
Mmmmmm...banana bread!
-
Dutch I agree---banana bread with cream cheese on it. LOL
-
Dutchiris- my mother used to make date bread and put creme cheese on it. Good idea to try it on banana bread. I am bringing the bread into my command center Monday for my project team.
I finished my Xmas cards today, I think. -
Jazzy do u ever stop and rest--I get tired just reading u'r posts.
-
Cami- I am slowing down this afternoon. I had a weird burst of energy today, which surprised me, long work week and all.
I opened some Xmas presents early, LOL! -
cami, love the photos. The boat on the rocks really cracked me up.
Jazzy, your cats at the bar cracked me up too. Ahhhhh banana bread......sigh, I haven't had a banana in 2 years. Way too many carbs for my diabetes. I used to love bananas!! No grains, or pastas either......but on the up side, my diabetes is totally controlled and my numbers are in the normal range, so it is worth it.
furfriend, so sorry you are sick. I hope you get better soon and it doesn't upset the schedule of your treatments.
Thinking of you blondie. That really sux about the meds. Government needs to butt the he11 out of our medical care!! -
Jazzy, my grandmother served her yummy date nut bread with her version of chili which was very mild. very thin, and had corn in it. I loved it and can almost taste the meal now. -
Sally that sounds good. Years ago I used to make chili scoop it in a baking dish and pour cornbread batter on top and bake it. The combo flavor to me was so good.OK I'm back to resting again--I'll take some meds first and relax with my cat. We had an argument last nite and she stayed away and came by this morning all cuddly.
-
Good morning, Cami. I am glad to see that you and your cat made up. I have a cuddly cat in morning too. She lays by me but when my alarm sounds, the cuddling begins.
