    Hi all,

Went to bed ... couldn't fall asleep ... took 2 Tylenol and brewed some Constant Comment tea ... now visiting you, my friends ... usually the Tylenol helps me fall asleep.

Hi dwill ... welcome ... I'm pretty new here ... it's a wonderful place to share ... will be thinking of you next Tuesday.

Jazzygirl, I have been humming "Wreck the tree and blame the doggies" all day.

CCFW, wow! that jacket will be fun to wear. Thanks for the picture. Actually, it gives me the idea that I need a cozy, fun jacket too. Online shopping here I come!

The holiday season qualms are beginning to arrive. Sometimes, being a happy hermit seems to make people think I am lonely rather than making choices about which activities to attend. If I am being honest, I guess I do feel odd that I am not a very social person.

    Happy week end everyone!

OMG! I am so behind!! I've been working really hard on my eBay store for the holidays. I have had to push through lack of enthusiasm and just do it. I'll try to catch up...

Sally, sorry you were in hospital. Hope you are feeling much better now.

CC love the photo you are indeed beautiful!! :))

Teka, love the Vermont Store!! Used to order from the catalog and once on vacation, DH and I went to the store. I still have some flannel pj's I got there. Love the rainbow too!

Jazzy, amazing sunrise photo! Love the colors. We have some amazing sunrises and sunsets here too. This is big sky country too!!

Lily (((hugs))) so sorry things are tough for you now. Shame on that dr for making you hurt!

CC love all the photos! That jacket is wild, now you have to go out and show it off!!

Blondie hope your surgery goes well and something can be done for your breathing issues.

Hi dwill welcome to the hermit club! Will be with you Tuesday!

cami, I live in a combination of pj's and yoga outfits. Comfort is my main requirement, definitely not a fashionista!! ;)

simplelife, I don't have any wise words to help you, but you are in my thoughts. I am sorry that you have to go through these episodes. Never be sorry for venting ... we are here to listen, care, and send hugs.

grammaB, I am feeling better. I am resting a lot and drinking a lot of fluids. It sounds like you have done a lot on your eBay store ... I hope enthusiasm will find you.

simple, so sorry about your crashes. Glad you are going to have a break over Thanksgiving. I dodged all the other treatments so I don't have any experience dealing with se, but my heart goes out to those of you that do!

Sally, I too am not a very social person, I pick and choose what events I will attend. I have a couple really good friends that invite me to their homes for Thanksgiving and Christmas and I go there happily. My family is all in CA, don't have anyone else here so they sort of adopted me. Otherwise I am quite happy on my own, working from home online.

It has been really cold here the last couple of days. Yesterday and today never got over 28°F last night is was 10°F when I went to bed at about 3:30AM (night owl here). It is a bit after midnight now and outside temp is 10° again. I just wish we had some snow to go along with the cold!! But great weather for sitting in the recliner by the fire!

Good morning hermits- waking up to an inch of snow and more snow coming all weekend long. I love it! Except now all the leaves are down off an ash tree, so I have wet leaves to deal with. Getting dressed to go out to breakfast with a friend. I have a trusty all wheel drive Subaru Outback.

Simple- sorry to hear about the emotional roller coaster. I think the sobbing helps us to release a lot of pent up stuff too, despite the fact it makes us feel like mess sometimes. I do hope your next treatments don't have the same effects. You can always share that stuff here and we will never judge you. D

Sally- I hope you are continuing to recover and feel better every day.

Love all my hermits here. There is a winter picture they showed on the news this morning I thought was particularly lovely and must find it and post it!

Jazzygirl, we are cold here but no snow ... darn. The train picture reminded me of day trips DH and I used to take to see old trains and model train displays.

Spookiesmom, I would like to see it too. DH and I never thought to investigate trains when we visited Florida. Did we miss some great train museums?

    Good Morning my Sweeties

Sally I had a hard time sleeping last nite too--??? Who knows why, don't u hate having nites like that only because I know the next day I'm drained and I was semi-social but this has changed me that way but I don't mind-But I always hear don't u want to go out, or aren't u bored--No and NO--I pick and choose as I wish now So Simple  these mood swings are pretty ordinary and never for get, we're a good alibi In case u need one, (just saying LOL)

Jazzy I love that picture it's so nostalgic and very peaceful--U come up with great stuff and u cheer everyone up so much.

Skittle I want to hear about the 800 today. Meds Skittle Meds.

Grandma I love u'r weather Oh we have cold and snow a lot--like now it's just getting colder and cold, but u have views in Montana, just like some of the gals on here, even out their window all we see here is another home loaded with snow, but I think for the most part u get more winterish than we do, Not always.

Tomorrow I'm having lunch with my sister, cousin and one of our GF's so that always nice, I just have to pick out what to wear and match it with a scarf, I didn't have recon so flat as a board, don't usually wear a bra, so scarves are my friend, and I love infinity scarves cu they really stay in place the best and haha I always chalk my hair hahaha--just kinda fun. My GS loves that---hmmm maybe that's why I don't go out everyone thinks I'm crazy and doesn't really like me to show up. And I'm not even insulted.

camillegal, I have never tried an infinity scarf ... your recommendation is a good reason for some online shopping. I love online shopping and scarves. I lean toward basic, plain clothes and use scarves to add color that suits my moods. I am wondering if yesterday's afternoon coffee contributed to last night's wakefullness. I love my coffee.

know it sounds dumb after 50 years, but I was so melancholy and sad about JFK yesterday I just sat all day and watched the tributes......it was so sad.....he was handsome, she was radiant, and they looked so happy.....stii think it was a conspiracy......Oswald killed him, but for someone else...he really was a Patsy....

Well better get moving.......today is another day....and a cold one....

duckyb1, all week the JFK news pieces brought back memories of a different era. I don't think your melancholy sounds dumb at all.

Spookie- that train is in northern NM. Chama,NM which is up in the northwest corner and the train goes up to Colorado and back. They have winter holiday ride on that one, but never done it. I have spent time in Chama though, lovely area as is all of northern NM.

There is also a steam train in Durango, CO that goes up to Silverton (old mining town) in Colorado. I have been on that train twice and it is a great time. These are great spots to visit for vacation if you are in to trains!

Ducky I think the memories of that day are with all of us, well who can remember it then. It was traumatic that horrible day for our country and around the world. They we're so beloved to everyone and it was caught on camera. Whether u voted for him or not (ahem I wasn't old enough) it was a very sad day.

Sally personally they are my fav. When they are long u can double it, I have one the has a silver chain intertwined with in it so it's kind of jewelryish and I like I said u don't have to tie or pin or anything with it and it stays in plac--I also wear some shawls sometime and do pin those--I just cover my chest anyway I can. LOL Oh and I always loved Vnecked but they are no longer my friend, bending over is not something to see.

Good evening hermits- it is a wintry night out there with cold temps and the winds howling! I am snuggled in my warm house watching HBO and drinking some hot tea. I am getting into drinking more hot tea now that the weather is colder. It is supposed to be like this into Monday.

I was only 3 years old, when Kennedy passed so I don't have any memory of it. My best friend from childhood was commenting on FB how she remembers as a 3 year old, everyone in her family coming home that afternoon and they were all around the tv crying, which she did not understand. I have often wondered what our nation would be like if he had lived? In fact, there is a new book out by a political commentator called If Kennedy had Lived, which I plan to read once I am through the stack of books I have to read right now.

I am currently ready a book called Extinction, about the historical extinctions through geologic time and those that are occurring now due to human influence. It is interesting so far, very nicely written.

Jazz...I just finished....They Killed Our President by Jesse Ventura.........regardless of what all the higher up talking heads say now....I believe Lee Oswald killed Kennedy, but not alone, and for someone else..I also think there was a conspiracy...I also believe Oswald was shot by a Ruby to shut him up, one thing I didn't realize was Johnson in the primary ran against Kennedy and lost, and was livid.........."also never knew that the Kennedy's hated Johnson, and only picked him to be the VP because Kennedy needed Texas to win the Presidency.....and Johnson and the Democratic Party really did not want Kennedy to win the nomination.....

Long story about the assassination and so much that preceded it, but reading the book I learned so much more then I never knew........and I do believe the country fell apart when Kennedy was killed.......

Think I will read the book you just mentioned....

Enjoy your tea, and stay warm........

Teka- so sorry to hear that news. Prayers for you and your family. We will look for you here again when things are better.

Cami- I think today is your lunch outing and hope you found a great outfit with accessories to wear.

Ducky B- that book sounds interesting too. I have no doubt it was a conspiracy, LHO was just the front man. Kennedy represented a real change in thinking, and wanting to do better for the whole. Just like MLK, Lincoln, and other religious figures, people who "rock the boat" so to speak, are the ones who are most risk. The status quo never likes change.

Not sure if you have read Ted Kennedy's biography, but that is very good too and gives you some real human insights on what went on during that time from his view as the brother that was left to help hold the family together after both John and Robert were killed.

Dwill- I thought I had remembered your name from the past but have been on a few threads here and was not sure we crossed paths somewhere else. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers as you approach your surgery this coming week.

Still wintry here and waking up to a bit of snow this morning.

    Oh, Teka, hugs and prayers...

Jazzy, loved the train photo. Both daughters are Purdue grads, so trains make me think of boilermakers... and dh's grandfather worked on trains like that! Such a difference from today's techie transportation modes.

Bundle up, most hermits, it's cold this morning.

Thinking of you, too Teka. Hope everything ends up alright. Boy, it seems like this part of november is being hard on lots of people in all these posts, hermits or otherwise. i look at "Breastbook" like other people look at "Facebook"!!!! And this is where i care. Did not get to paint woodwork at my neighbors house yesterday, cause when i was done with my home errands and chores, i looked at lymphedema arm/ hand, and the hand was exceptionally swollen and extremely puffy! Usually, the hand does not get swollen. at. all! so i did not go there. and now it is noon here, and i am not even dressed. Rug coat happy hour. i have been staying up late watching "Treme" 3rd season, about New Orleans, during and after Katrina. Nice hbo series with wonderful music, and not quite like other series HBO has done. This one is very full of real musicians and people of the hood, Quite interesting, and i feel like i know them. And more about what really happened there in the wake of that disaster. So sad, and also pi$$es me off, too, what happenes after any calamity: in the news briefly, but the real story is suppressed. I was looking at pictures of New Mexico, Jazzy. And it looks so beautiful. You are so smart to have made a decision to spend time there. Now i really want to come visit you! I do remember too, all the adults in my hood being sad about assassination. I remember, very clearly. It was as if a darkness had descended on all the land... Right now i am reading a book that women on a reading thread were talking about here called the GOLDFINCH. unputdownable, so i am so in trouble, case i should be doing things, but all i want to do is read. Lives are hanging in the balance, and the world does keep spinning, and i am caught up in an imaginary world. (Edited for proper capitalization, a few slipped through. i do not feel it is right, somehow, to capitalize "i". What were they trying to tell us when 'they' made up those rules about writing, Ladies? That each of our lives are important. but i cannot see capitalizing the "i" of me.
