Still no 'Back to Top' function. Although between that and 'Top to Bottom' I guess I'd prefer 'Top to Bottom' working. (Which it is.)
Is the issue of so much scrolling being addressed or is that simply something that's not going to change?
-
Can't go 'Back to the Top' on this computer either.
-
If the "Jump to Bottom" and "Back to the Top" buttons aren't working for you look for keys on your keyboard labeled "home" and "end". If you have those keys they should accomplish the same thing for you.
-
Thank you RR. My Top to Bottom works. But Bottom to Top does not. I do not have a home or end key.
-
RR!!!!!!!!!! Yes I DO have a home and end key. THANK YOU so much! They work.
-
Marple, you are welcome. I wish I'd thought of posting that sooner.
-
I have mentioned this twice, but there have been no comments or suggested resolutions.
I cannot upload a new avatar from a picture taken after the upgrade. I can upload pretty much anything I've tested that was taken prior to the upgrade. I keep getting the same error message.
I post pictures and change my avatar frequently, so this is not a user error issue.
Thoughts, anyone? Mods?
-
LuvRVing, there is also the scrolling issue that's not been addressed either. (Maybe it (the amount of scrolling) won't be changed but still a reply would be appreciated.) It seems some things are mentioned in replies and some are not. I must confess, not being able to upload a new avatar would take precedent over whining over too much scrolling. I've seen your mention of this avatar issue before.
-
And Susieq58 - I totally agree with you about the ability to post all your diagnoses and treatments individually. I purposely did mine just to see how bad it is. If everyone takes advantage of this "feature" then the scrolling problem that is the big complaint will be so much worse, perhaps intolerable. Somehow, there should be a way for the programmers to concatenate these data strings so they will take up just half the space. This is not a difficult task.
-
I purposely did not change/add my treatment in the form provided and left it in my signature for the same reason. I have the details in my bio instead.
I still was wondering if it was possible to re-click on one of the tabs on the left, even though you are already on that page to get it to refresh. I used to do this a lot in my favorites to update. Now I have to click twice: click on active topics… wait for it to load then click back to favorite topics… wait for it to load.
-
Lago...dumb question...but can't you just hit "refresh" on your browser? That's what I do.
-
Yup but I still like to do it the other way. Bigger button :P
-
That's right. I forgot that you prefer things bigger now.
-
Would be nice if the moderators would ask the tech people IF they are PLANNING on improving the active topics page so that we don't have to do all of this scrolling that is still bugging my eyes and finger out....AND THEN KINDLY GET BACK TO US AND LET US KNOW WHAT THEY SAID......
-
-
Yep, I've been asking the same thing. No reply to that particular scrolling issue.........so far.
-
No answer to the font size issue ie wasted space - too much space between lines all over.
-
Now, *this* is kind of funny <otter is rolling her eyes>:
You know how I've been whining for almost a week now, about my out-of-date browser(s) not being able to handle this new format? How most of the new functions in this new format (nav bars, drop-down menu, breadcrumb trail) are unavailable to me with my current version of Firefox but are available in Safari... yet, I cannot post here with Safari?
Well, the "Jump to Botton" and "Back to Top" features both work flawlessly in both my old browsers. Go figure.

My wounded finger has ONLY been asking about the scrolling since DAY ONE! I tell it it can use the exercise.......My finger is NOT happy. Nor am I.....
-
Ok, so now I tried to PM someone..........and couldn't until I added them to my friend list. What's the reason for that?
-
Your friend list? Good grief. Now, we're doing Facebook.
Latest tech glitch:
I just posted something on another thread on this forum, and my use of italics did not stick. The text was italicized in the compose box, but reverted to standard text once it appeared in the thread. Let's see what happens here:
This text (those first 2 words) should be in italics.
otter
ETA: ITALICS DOES NOT WORK! Text formatted in italics appears italicized in the compose box, and also in the "Edit" box if the post is edited; but it is not italicized once it is saved to the page. This is a fairly recent problem. I had no difficulty posting in italics or bold-faced type a few days ago. This is with my old Firefox. I can't test it with Safari because I cannot post at all in Safari.
-
Marple, I clicked on your name in your post, to bring up your profile (is it still called a profile?). On your profile page, I clicked "Send member a private message"... and a page opened up with a compose box, just as it should. There wasn't any requirement to add you anywhere.
How did you access the "Send private message" feature?
otter
ETA: I just found this: if you go to your own "Private Messages" page and try to "Compose Private Message", you won't be able to send it unless the recipient's username is in the "To" drop-down list. The following note is printed underneath that drop-down menu:
"To add people to this “To” drop-down menu, you'll need to add them as a Friend. You can do this by visiting your friend's profile page. You can also send someone a private message from their profile page."
I don't think that's a change from the old formatting. (Is it?) You can still send someone a PM from their Profile page, without adding them to a Friend list.
-
Does italics work?
-
I should have asked DO italics work? Apparently not.
-
I find what bdavis said below, as well, Mods.
18 hours ago bdavis wrote:Hi Mods.. When I look at someone else's posts and click on one to see what they said, it goes to the beginning of the thread, not their post.
-
And a quote button would be excellent!!!
-
Otter, I just sent you a PM and it went through. Before to another member, I could not. Oh well, I'm sure it's just another glitch that will get sorted. I must have accessed this member some other way. Ummmm, I think I went through the 'member' tab. No sure about that though. But fairly sure that's the way I went.
-
Thank you for pointing that out though Otter.
-
To add to that when I got to someone's profile, I will see their latest posts. When I click on that it doesn't bring me to the page with that post but to the page I last looked at (or the first post if it's a thread I never visited).
-
lago... mine does that too. But it did that to me before the change. (wouldn't go to that person's post...just where you last visitied or top) So for me it is no different than before.
