Happy mother's day to all you sweet mama owlsies!
I'm so happy that so many of you like to buy plants, sometimes I think I have a flower obsession.I could go bankrupt buying plants. I would love to get veggies too, but there's nowhere here to put them - have to settle for a few pots of herbs that I can protect from critters. Speaking of 'veggies', that peach stuff sounds great, but something with pie filling, cool whip, marshmallows, etc. can not rightly be called a 'salad'. If you can't grow it, it isn't a veggie! Just try growing marshmallows sometime.. it doesn't work, you get these little mushy things and that's it. Cami, I hope you're feeling better and have a wonderful day. Who is Joey, btw? Is that your grandson?
Hiho, get mostly perennials too, I love to see the things I put in last year coming up. I watch all the little shoots with fascination - especially at how fast some of them can grow. There are wild spots here, I like the mix of things. Susan, I love courtyards, they feel a little like forts for grownups. A little space that's not a house but's homey. (except if there's a snake there)
Tang, yay for being done with round five! If they give you an iron infusion, it may really help.. they had to put me in the hospital after round five, but after being there for 4 days and having who knows what all put in me, I felt way better. Doc ended up cutting my final dose in half. I wanted the whole one, but they said it would just be to hard on my body. I'm glad you have a new PS.
Chevy, thanks for posting the picture of me, I had forgotten about those pink pants, I loved those pink pants. I'm going to have to get a new pair like that. Want to go shopping?
FBB - how are you doing? I'm thinking that you're not quite ready for our ledge dancing excursion yet, but by the end of summer?
Sassypants where are you? Last I saw you it was something about amaretto having caused some difficulties.. Hope the world has straightened back out from the vertigo.
Twotimer, YOU are sweet. Migraines suck, hope it is gone by now.
Got to go play in my garden now.
-
The pink pants reminded me...We went out for burgers on Friday night. An older (60-70ish) woman came in dressed in aphid green with enormous butterfly shaped neon green sunglasses. She wandered around, but didn't eat and finally just left. I wondered if she was just having fun or was off her meds (or both). We have a summer solstice parade and her outfit would be perfect for that.
-
Woozer - did you henna your head!!??!? It's gorgeous.

Happy Mother's Day to all. You don't need to be a birth Mom. You can be the cookie Mom or the listening ear Mom or the 'you can do it' Mom. Or the teacher who comforted my daughter when her cat followed her to school and was run over.
-
Happy, Happy Moms Day to all...
Went back and reread the last few days, I did skim over before, cause I hate to be out of the loop, but I have more time now to really let all the crazy, supportive, healing chit chat sink in.
So much to comment on, and I will miss a bunch.
Jwoo, was that your beautiful head ? Henna ? Darling panda..
DutchChris, your daughter is a flexible one. Love to watch comtempory ballet...
Blondie, thinking of you with the breathing issues....Hoping it gets better soon.
Cami, the food at your family get togethers...YUM, all homemade Italian.. Sounds so good, and you obviously have some characters in your clan. No ethnic ties from my family, but my SIL is Japenese, & she is family, fantastic cook.
Sasafras, No more spinning, or coaster riding,,,, makes me nausea just thinking about that. I had to deal with it during A/C....just sucky..
2nd Timer...headache gone?
Chevy, you are the "Mom" of our group. Special, most glorious day to you. You have not updated DH foot issues. He back to normal ?
Smaarty, Congrats....
Blessings, you are so generous and my role model.
Lilshit, I buy allot of stuff, flowers on the clearance table, they need TLC, bring it home and bring it back.
Ok, forgetting a bunch...thanks & love to all.
Golf tourney, fashion show, flower arrangements were fantastic....nice to be able to participate.
Oh, was it Phillythemystery night frisbee golfing? how did that go?
-
Still practicing.

Yes! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL AGAIN... !
You GO FBB! Would love to see you on that high-wire!
GGH! I just had to put my tomato plants in the garage, all covered, and cover up all my pots of seedlings! It is snowing like hell here...! And only 35 degrees out! Such a bummer! Brought in my Orchids, Christmas Cactus...etc! I just hope the annual flowers make it! Yes! I AM the Mother of the group...Ha, ha! And if I am any example of how you gals are supposed to act, forget it! Sorry Wren about your Daughter's cat... I know it hurt.... Our Cat used to go for walks with us also... sometimes I would have to carry him back, if we were going to go to far!
We had a cat when the girls were litle, and we had him for over 14 years~!
Been cleaning drawers.... etc! Have a fun day gals!
-
I would like to wish everyone a Happy Mother's Day, and especially to those who are mothers to our furry or feathered family members!
EVEN our little slithery ones!
-
Chiming in just to say..............
Been reading and working so I will ketchup later! 8 School days and a couple hundred more people to feed, then I'm taking a break!! Ha, by having more surgery on the 21st!!
Hope everyone is having a great Mommy's Day whether you are celebrating with 2 legged or 4 legged kids. Or in Susan's case a clean no legged flying snake!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY -
hI, cHEVY , the force was disturbed, erhh wait a minute that was me. Di Sarno came to visit. We did things.Things that got me in trouble. Now must catch up pages and pages. But sorry for the misbehaving.:( -
-
Susan and Cami, the culture and sensitivity section are very important to understand. Try several repeated readings. With each reading it should become clearer.. The others may too. But it depends on your need. Cami, I very much believe they have messed up your bodies own self care protections i.e. the good bacteria. -
susan can we have pic's of birds? The snake and the birds live near each other? Yes, pics when the flowers come in, beautiful.Ds's mother's day gift. He knew maker from seller, but not pattern. Found it. GolfGirl you will get a kick out of this. the patteren is Golfball. He didn't pay any where what replacements.com quotes and he bartered a bit.

Susan and Cami please reread Culture and Sensitivity(C&S) section a few times. Each reading will make it more understandable. Lack of prescribing antibiotics with out doing C&S, is what has caused the problem of resistance of antibiotics. It also, has put each of us a risk for diseases that could have been controlled. Phooey.Golfgirl, Ds gave me glasses --four waters, four liquors--Morgantown--beautiful. Thought you'd get a kick. I found the pattern Golfball. He didn't pay anywhere close to what replacements, ebay or Itsy suggest.

Sassy, I don't know the force, and I don't know "DiSarno!" WTH? HOW am I supposed to understand, when you are speaking in code... Is that Pig Latin? No, I can at least understand THAT! I'll bet your love your Son's gift! How fun! But yes I agree, about our Cammi, and all that is going on with her.... That's the way with a LOT of things we have to take for stuff that goes wrong! Sometimes like they say, the cure is worse than the illness!
Our bodies CAN heal themselves of minor things... if we can just have patience.... like with my broken hip.... It's taking forever, but the nerves and muscles are trying to get together.... and sometimes we HAVE to take antibiotics, because we have infections, and we can't always heal them withOUT those meds. But we do understand that those meds also cause their own problems! So see? I AM trying to understand...
How about you Cammi! If you lived here, I would feed you Chicken Soup, Chocolate Cokes and boil some greens and make you eat them.... AND the broth. And load you up with fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds and yogurt.... Even make you drink Aloe Vera, for your digestion stuff! But if you are like DH, it ain't gonna happen. He won't eat anything other than what he likes.... which is snacks, and sweets! And don't forget the beer! An occasional frozen hamburger, or pizza will do him just fine. And THEN he only eats 1/2 the Hamburger, and eats the rest in the morning!
Is it because we are older? And men just do and eat whatever they want? He just brought home some Watermelon, 3 Mango's, a cantalope and a Honeydew! He will only eat a little Watermelon... but not the rest....
Still snowing here... And probably tomorrow.... 32 degrees out...
44444! That little dog is the sweetest! I sent it to my girls!
-
HaHa, I saw this and immediately thought of Chevy!!
**translation--DiSarno= Amaretto!! (aka Booze)
-
So I called my mom an hour ago. Dad kept talking. Finally says "I would let you talk to your mom but she isn't speaking to anyone." WTF I didn't call before her "silent deadline" so apparently I don't care about her hypersensitive bi-Polar ass.
Then I went in search of DH out mowing only to twist my bum ankle and fall flat on my tiny fin and LE arm.
Now I am going to pour deKuyper.................... (That;s Schnapps for the drinking impaired!)
-
DISARONNO AMARETTO! So Ah-HAH! I KNOW what that is, but not the way YOU guys spelled it! I like it with orange juice, Amaretto, and Vodka! Then it is called a Bocce-Ball! See? I was right! You go around talking in code, and we are supposed to understand!
Okay, your Mother.... Don't sweat the small-stuff kiddo.... You know how she is.... She has this need to punish you for what-ever she feels like.... Don't let it bother you. I'll come smack her around if you want me to....
And you FELL? Good Lord, I'm not the ONLY one! So you say you twisted your ankle? You CAN'T say that.... because that's what happened to ME! I twisted it on that pole...I mean rock! Did you break anything of any importance? But I'm sorry anyway.... chester.....
That KFC chicken bucket is for folk who don't collect eggs from those CHICKENS! Actually, I DO like chicken sometimes.... but I get the chicken from the store, and I don't have to think about how they got there.
-
Hey, I was just translating so I spelled it like Sas did!!
Didn't break anything this time, did wrench my neck tho. Not a happy camper right now because I am still working...............
-
4444, thanks for my first and only hug this Mother's Day! Don't want to be a downer, but Mr Wonderful (the d**khead) is up to his usual sweet self. Don't want to go into details, but hugs are appreciated. So sorry you fell and hurt your ankle.
Thanks for translating the Di Sarno issue, wouldn't have figured it out.
Will get caught up later....
-
ouch 4sew! Hope the schnapps helps a little.
If I have DiSaronna, I like an Amaretto Stone Sour (equal parts amaretto, OJ, and sweet & sour mix. Shake and serve over ice.)
((hugs)) 2TA and all the moms, with ♥ to all.
-
this is my 88 yr mom and sister. They went out last night to beat the crowds, didn't work!
I went to MIL, it was fine, managed to get out pretty quick. Working on project for GF. Might go to dinner at daughters. DH will go if I don't, she's making salmon, which I don't like and can't eat anyway.
-
Hope you all are enjoying what you can. Sorry for those not feeling well. ((Hugs)). (You know how long it took me to figure out what that means?! (( ? ))
-
chevy, not meant to be code lol, i can spell well sometimes and other time not so well. . but it's okay......someone will come along and fix it. Gist was Cami's name for doc. It's true they all have Gist at the end of there name. Likely could look at the dictionary, but who cares they are a gist444444444, along time ago on stfu, you explained how your mom is, sorry............. at the same time you described your relationship with you kids......... you are a wonderful mom. ....blow her off. I did that with a family member that just brought misery to my life. I've been happier ever since.
blondie hugs honey, how big of a medical center are you in?
FBB-and tang and smarrty hang in there LOvey's---treatments will end soon
madd2ta---hope migraines done

-
{{{{2TA}}}} extra hugs for you
4sewhat, love the dachshund snuggle.
DH is working on my kitchen floor. I ordered the floor six months ago and I guess the mother's day guilt finally got o him and he started installing it. Looks fantastic. I laid out the pattern and he's doing all the cutting for the trim.
And the best news of all is I finally got matched for Cleaning for a Reason! They are coming this week to clean. I've not had a truly clean house in 16 months since I started treatment and all the surgeries.
-
FBB Yay---a wish---the floor Hugs to DH. Tell us about "cleaning for a reason". Guessing hooked up by Social Worker. So how did it happen. So understand the deep cleaning not getting done the way we used to do it, just makes everything else suck even worse Yay and blessings to the gals coming -
Thanks Sas! I will get back to you as soon as I can. I am in the middle of making 96 aprons for the art club. The owner is trading me art lessons and summer camp for the girl child for the sewing. We are meeting up in the ayem and I am trying to get as many ready as possible. She has been so patient waiting and understanding about the surgery once a month so I can't get to it thing!
-
boy or boy,,I have a lot to read and catch up on. Hope all had a good day. We spent it in the hospital. My hubby was in a lot of pain on the floor this morning. Got to the hospital , many gall stones and one large one blocking. Good thing it was large cause it can't move through the duct. Er doc said it would prob have to come out. When surgeon finally came in he said he thought it was gas. For the first time in both our lives we were speechless. Not our normal hospital...but the closet one. We tried to explain the intense pain, nothing like my hubby ever felt before, and then there was of course, the test results...but the doc said he was a "specialist " and he "knew" . Wow, 12 hours in the hospital just to meet a jerk of a doc. Hubby was feeling better by then so we got discharged and we will see our own docs. Hopefully it won't ever happen again...and it might not have to come out...but it sure wasnt to gas. On the upside, my daughter and her hubby were so worried so they drove in from Michigan and I got to spend Mother's Day with my daughter...in the hospital ....but who cares, love to be with them. Boy did I ramble. Well I can't wait to catch up on my reading here,,,,love reading all your stuff. Maybe one day I will understand it all, but for now, very enjoyable
Hope everyone is doing well and pain free
Hugs
Susan

Hugs to all the moms and extra hugs for 2ta, blondie, and 4. I had a really good Mother's day. I called in to work at 3 something am but I did get a nap.
Chevy, I am not THAT young but too young for the old people's thread. I am 49. Is that somewhere in the middle? Regarding everything being in code, I'm always asking my 17 yo about that. If she says she's going to a bonfire or someplace I'll say "Wait, is that code for something?"
FBB, yay for Cleaning for a Reason. You deserve it. I hope it helps you relax and not worry about what's not getting done. A new floor is always a good feeling. 100 points and a gold star for the DH.
44444, cute dog snuggle. Take care of your neck and don't fall down anymore. It's hurts. We're not as young as we once were. It takes longer to recover.
