Well done M0mmy! Time for a coffee!
-
DD and I recently took part in an event at which 105 people representing each age from 0 - 104 were brought together for a fun day, lunch and entertainment. We were each photographed and then each filmed saying something about what we feel at our age. The overall event sponsors were a yoghurt company who got to use footage for a "Love Your Age" campaign, and a national newspaper who used photographs in a documentary about the day. There will later be a book of photographs and quotes which will be sold in aid of Age Action Ireland (a charity/advocay for aging issues). Each of the participants received a fee that went to the charity instead of to ourselves. It was a unique event and we really enjoyed it. DD's photos were in the newspaper and the videos are just out. This video takes a sample of the ages on the day. If you want to get a look at us she is the 10 year old and I am the 49 year old.
-
Susan - Shelby in her little booties is priceless!
-
Thanks gals, it is a relief to have gotten my paper done. But then this morning I got irritated again. While retrieving the paper while I took my dog Jackson out I discovered two of the political signs that had been just replaced from the last time they were swiped were gone again. So I got a hold of my neighbor who puts hem out for us and he is going to replace them again. What is with people that they can't respect that some people have a difference of opinion when it comes to politics.
-
Holy moly M0mmy! Do you reckon they genuinely believe taking down a sign is going to make the slightest difference to anyone's vote?
-
Hi ladies!
Wren, Happy belated birthday!
Junie, I hope the MO appointment goes well today, and the Faslodex injection tomorrow doesn't make you itch this time.
Jean, I've never heard of a temp drain. That's a bummer!!!
Mommy, Congrats on getting the paper done!
Susan, That's good you like your new PCP. How did the Eco go?
Shep, Happy belated birthday to Marti. Cute puppy pictures!! Did FF get stopped again when you went to MO? I hope Zometa treats you well.
Feline, I love the paraphrase you posted by Garth Brooks. So true!! I'm going to watch the video later when I have more time, but that's cool you and DD were involved in project.
Loverly, Why do you have to drive DD back to LA on Friday after Thanksgiving? Does she have weekend plans with friends? That was a sweet picture of DD2 and Mitzy! I want to be put in that time out chair..for 3 days at least! My hands are slowly getting better...probably 50% better than they were. My feet are a little better and vary from day to day and time of day. I'm hoping for more improvement with time.
Yesterday and Monday I worked 5.5 hour shifts in an elementary kitchen (exhausting), which I haven't been to very often because of consistent staff. The supervisor/cook (male) is relatively new, so we were chatting a lot as we worked. I think he may be interested in me. I don't know..it's been so long since a man has shown interest, and maybe he's just curious and friendly. I know I subbed there last year sometime when I didn't have as much hair, so he knew about the BC and was asking me questions about my upcoming surgery and how my kids have handled everything. Anyway, it would be great to date again, but it terrifies me at the same time. But, dating a supervisor would not be a good idea (even IF it came up). There is so much turn over in the kitchens right now that I'm having to say no to jobs so I can have some balance with my health. Hard for me to do! Today I am going to my kids' school
and I'm taking Thurs and Fri off to plow through my home list.
-
Feelingfeline, lovely video. Reinforces that we should embrace what ever age we are and enjoy life.
Happy birthday Wren.
-
waving hi hootie hoo
-
Feline, it isn't changing my mind one bit. My neighbor said to let them keep swiping the signs and he'll just keep replacing them until the elections over!
-
Feeline...the video brought a tear, thanks for sharing!
-
Hootie hoo, Patty Boo! Is today better?
-
My professor opened a can of worms this week with our weekly discussion posts. She wanted our opinions on whether she should order a new book for a class for next semester that is going to cost over $100. Well I wrote my post saying that she should not do it and why. Then I had to answer a classmate's post. Before I responded to my classmate's post, I read it and thought about it. Then I respectfully disagreed with him telling the professor in his opinion that she should do it. I told him that some people can't afford it and why. I even told him about a friend who got the shock of her life over the cost of her daughter's textbooks for college. The cost of textbooks are crazy these days!
-
Feline, beautiful video! I love what you said. Those older folks are so cute!!!
WildT, I am glad to hear that your pain has improved by almost 50%. Have your mood and energy level improved also? We have to take DD back on Black Friday because she starts school that following Monday. Not sure if that is a good idea as far as traffic goes. Thanksgiving break is for only 1/2 of the week. I don't like long car ride (6 hrs+ to LA without traffic). We figure it's less expensive to fly her home in the future. Ugh...the hidden cost of college. I wish she had moved down the street just like ShepK's DS. No COOKING with the cook!!!!
Mommy, good job! Is this paper on Affordable Health Care? I would love to read it. I hate writing. I always have a hard time getting my thoughts on paper because am not organized up there. Ideas and words are trapped in a blender of a mess in my head. I would rather do physics or math or solve an equation.
Ms. S, you choose a place.
ShepK, I knew your birthday was around October. Don't tell me yours is on the 24th. It can't be. I am thinking Marti was your birthday gift? Here is another Scorpio.
Hello my other friends. Sleep is calling me, but there are household chores I need to take of. I was down yesterday with woman issue- that damn Eve...why did she have to listen to the serpent? DH was so sweet. He ironed all my clothes for me and didn't expect dinner made. I think I am going to keep him for now.
Shelby-
Wait, it's wacky Wednesday.
-
Lover, yes it was. I took the negative side of it though.
-
wildtulip - Dating a man who knows his way around the kitchen is always good and it is nice to be noticed. The temporary drain has the same long tube and exact same bottom drain. Where it goes into the skin it looks like an IV. He called it a catheter.
Loverly - no it wasnt the radiated side, go figure. I guess the good side was jealous!
-
Mommy, I would still love to read it.
-
ok. PM your email addy and I'll send it to you tomorrow.
-
Feelingfeline- what an outstanding video. Going to watch it a second time later today. Thank you for sharing. You are lovely!
-
Nooooo! This will always be THE true WW Day Photo!
With a side of Lancelot Link thrown in.......
-
loverly yes I am having a good day today. Even felt good enough to drive ds1 to school today. He hates riding the bus. Wow ddonky gets 1\2 week off for Thanksgiving. Boo. Dss are off the whole week.
Mommy2. Nice to have our opinions listened to. Great job. I hate public speaking. How many people are in your class?
Hootie hoo

-
hi all
Good job mommy, happy birthday to Wren, good news for shep, yeah, keeping fingers crossed for Wild for a date if that's what you want. Patty, happy your out and about. FF, love the idea. Of course I love the accents! I haven't hear from Hin1 or Wench, keeping fingers crossed.
Crazy week so far. Mom in ER all day Monday, they thought it was her gallbladder, but nothing showed on all the scans, she's home and my DS and I are taking turns staying over with her. Didn't get much sleep last night.
Here's Ben, 7 weeks old, starting to really smile and trying to talk now. Love that age when they try so hard to make some noise.
Lovely, we will see you at Applebee's. See pm
-
thanks Smaarty. Ben's a cutie!!!
Heard on my evening news I might see a wintry mix tomorrow before it turns to all rain.
-
Lover, that sucks that you have to drive DD back on Black Friday of all days. I'm usually in a partial coma the day after Thanksgiving from all the cooking, eating and clean up.
Feline, great video!
Mommy, college expenses are outrageous. My DD is a photography major, and talk about the $$$! We have to buy all the camera stuff, photo paper and matting supplies for her as well as the books. On the bright side, when I'm gone my life insurance will hopefully cover all the debt she's incurred. Nowadays, it takes about five years to graduate (I was able to get out in four years back in the 80s).
Smaarty, Ben is adorable!
Lita
-
Awww, Ben will be a handsome young man. Cute little guy. Sorry about your mum. Txted you.
Patty, I had a good laugh at your autocorrect. So good to hear you are up and about. We can't help but ride on the roller coaster with you.
Feline, I watched the video again. DD is so right! I remember how flexible I was at that age. Always wanted to be a dancer or gymnast when I was younger.
Thanks, Mommy. Can't wait to read it.
WildT, too bad we can't be there to screen the guy. Keeping my hope for you. JeanQ is right. It would be nice to date a cook. Am I being too protective?
Ok ShepK, you didn't like Balboa?
How about this?
Or this?
-
Yeah, Lita, it's terrible that we have to wake up early to drive after the food coma. The things we do for our kids....
DD took this photo this morning after swim practice. I am so glad she has an appreciation for nature now.
