INSOMNIACS place to talk in the wee hours

Lover-Smaarty-Jean, for me I think the October 28th or November 4th would work best. I know Fridays seem to be good for Lovers schedule. But I am flexible. October 19th-26th is when my WBC is done, so I try and avoid outings at that point. Let me know what you all think.
-
Lovely, don't take the pic down, I can almost smell the fish in the pot! Must be delicious. The best part of fish is in the cheeks! I guess only we Asians really know how to eat fish!
JunieB, congrdulations on the new fur baby. Now you have to keep your hip in place before you can take care of a puppy.
ShepK, how is the trigger finger doing? Sometimes you may have to take more than one shot. I once took three shots before the thump got back to normal. Is your back pain relieved by surgery?
-
28th works for me. Others? Lover, you're right on driving but we can meet them close to SF.
Evie got both of her top teeth in this last week. No pic yet.
Night guys
-
Smaarty-you get to meet the new little guy yet ? It's been a month right since birth
-
no. We were going to visit last Friday but I thought I might be starting a cold so didn't go. Probably won't see him until December when we get back. DH has had a bad cough he still has and my niece doesn't want him or me around the baby until he's had his first vaccination. I'll see if I can get a current picture.
-
28th works for me too.
Susan, I forgot to mention that we are about 1.5-2 hours from SF. I sure hope we can make a field trip to the Bay Area to see you, Claire, and Elena.
Eeyore, the wind blew you in. Yay! Asians not only know how to eat fish, but also other crazy exotic foods too. Some of theadventurous foods I have tried as an adult were chicken feet, sushi, and sea cucumber. Yuck! Didn't care for balut eggs, certain organ meats, or escargot. Double yuck! JeanQ, I think the other ladies might need to take a turn using your anti-nausea patch.
-
Loverly - You don't have to remove the fish pic. I'll just close my eyes as I scroll on by. Personally, I like Orange Roughy poached in a Verde sauce, Salmon, Shrimp, plus Mahi Mahi marinated & grilled.
No fish sticks though. Also, I can't imagine that you'd be all quiet and shy when having lunch with the ladies.
I'm so envious that some of you get to get together and now you're gonna get to see Susan, Claire & Elena in person. So cool.
Sensi - Nice pic of you and your Sis.
WildT - Your pic is a perfect 10.
Smaarty - Sorry you're catching a cold. We can commiserate together, because I am getting one too. Ugh! Woke up last night with a sore throat and tonight my nose/sinuses are getting stuffed up.
We here in the Northwest are experiencing a severe storm with winds getting up to 80-100 mph on the coast over the next couple days. Closer to me the winds are supposed to get to 50 mph, with rain coming in buckets. They also say that power outages are likely, but I am praying not near me. I just did my grocery shopping and can't afford to lose all of those.
JeanQ - Glad your drains are being removed and you get to enjoy a shower.
Susan - Yes, I am excited about puppy, and I am being especially mindful of not overdoing with my hip. I am trying to avoid any further surgery like the plague. Two of the male puppies look alike and one has a white spot on his chest, so we'll see which one ends up with me. The breeder is in a very rural part of Idaho, almost to the Canadian border, so she is willing to meet me about half way which apparently is Kennewick, WA
I am sleepy now, so I'll say goodnight to you all. Sleep well.

The Cairn Terrier pack born 10/12/2016
-
junie b. Congrats new momma. Puppies look adorable. Was gonna ask which one is yours but they all look! Just alike
Hugs all
-
Patty - I have to wait until their eyes open and they are more active before I can pick mine. I'll keep you posted.
-
yea. How exciting.
-
JazzyJune there was a lady called cuddyclothes on here a litlle while ago looking for dog lovers to post pics on her dogs dogs dogs thread... that would picture probably go down a treat
-
The 28th should work, I'll pencil it in and work on getting my strength back.
Loverly, such a funny thought that some of the SAC4 might be shy and quiet!!
-
those puppies look sooooooo cute
Lover and smaarty and whoever else is near them, still trying to get a hold of uncle to see if we can visit. His wife has late stage alztimers. We always vacation with them, as long as I can remember. But not the last two years
. We are going to make it a vacation for Claire and I and visit my uncle for a day or two. So we are going to be traveling around. Elena screams in the car, hope she is over that by then...lol.
Yeah for drains out !!!!!
-
Susan - I spoke to the breeder again today and she told me that these puppies are the most active puppies she's ever had for 2 day old pups. They're pushing each other around and yipping.
-
Oooooh dear.
-
Susan, my DD was the same way in the car. She did not like to be strapped down. Would scream until we reached our destination. DH could not drive with her crying, but I learned to ignore her. This continued up until she was almost one when she was big enough to have her car seat facing the front. Let us know if you decide to explore the Bay Area. We love to meet you.
Junie, hopefully the pups will calm down. Do you get first choice?
WildT, I hope you continue to feel better each and everyday. So sweet of your teenage boy to hug his momma in front of his peers.
You too, Patty and my hobbit friend...I wish the same for you.
Hope our dear Jazzy is having fun with her sis in NY.
Where is Kath? Is the wedding this month?
It's raining here. Yay! Free water for the trees and lawn. I love the rain and fragrance that comes with it.
-
Junie, nothing like puppies!! Excited for you.
Loverly, Over-all I'm feeling better, but hoping for more improvement.
I suppose I better stop avoiding laundry. I hope everyone has a good night!
-
Loverly ~ I did not call you a big mouth - you did. Thhhhhp! Blaming me, harumph. Thank you for the removal of the nasty fish. Ick....fish are gross. They live in their own toilet bowel and eat poo and each other. (gagging) Only thing they are good for to is entertain your kitty if he gets bored. So cute to watch the paws dunking in the water to swat at the slimey things. Why am I a Hobbit? I shave my toes and tops of my feet so they don't get furry 😜
Sensi ~ Yippee! No more chemo! Hope the rash goes away fast. Love the pic of you and your sister. You both have the same pretty eye color. Cool that she has gone to treatments with you. Now you need to go do fun stuff together! Chance pics always make me smile 🙂
WildT ~ Perfect pic you posted to counteract those fish! How did DD's appointment go? Does she have a surgery date yet? Poor baby. So sweet the folks at the hospital make her visits fun. AI junk still easing off? Ack, we need a cure for our "cures".......
JunieB ~ OMD! PUPPIES! They look big to be just 2 days old! So fuzzy already! You should totally get the one with the white on his chest - very unique. Don't laugh..... I train my cats to use the people toilet. Hate litter boxes. If I ever had a little dog, I would teach him to use the toilet too! I use the Litter Kwitter . Amazon and Petco sell it. Marti is way too huge for the loo, otherwise I would have trained her too! Feel better soon - you've got some adventures ahead of you soon 🐶
Jean ~ So envious of your upcoming get-together! You must report back all the details! Yay for drains being out! Which med gave you trigger finger/thumb? Mine was from Femara/Letrozole. The NP who did the injections said that it is very common. As long as the shots work I reckon I'll just deal with it.....
Eeyore ~ Three shots? Ouch! Hope the pain stays away! And don't encourage Loverly's fishy pictures 😧
Smaarty - Hope your feeling better. You have adventures ahead of you too!
My hand has been feeling better and better. Love when something can be "fixed". Other pain is still ucky....Fibro flare and usual hip nasties. But my back ain't breaking! Hurricane here caused much wind damage and flooding. Need to figure out how to post the videos of Marti swimming in the lake in the back yard. The rain was too much for the ground to absorb so we had water that was about 24 inches deep. It has gone now.
Lesson learned....never pay local utilities online during an oncoming hurricane. There was a glitch in the phone companies system and my credit card was charged multiple times! Been trying all week to get it straightened out. Several bills are on "autopay" and have been declined for lack of funds. Gah.....what a mess. Not to name names, but a certain company that begins in "D" and ends in "iscover" is full of very unhelpful persons.
Big (((Hugs))) to All!

Cat Fishing!
-
anybody have contact info for Holeinone? She hasn't posted since 9/4 and she hasn't played Words with Friends with me since early October. She just might be on vacation but she usually keeps playing.
-
I have been thinking about her too and was going to ask. Patty might have her number.
-
I've also been thinking of HiHo. MammaRay and Wenchie too.......and where is Lookie?
-
You too? Had a dream the other day about Mammaray. She was saying something to me.
Thought about Lori yesterday too while showering.
Hope Forward is enjoying life.
-
Been thinking of MamaRay too. I know she has a difficult hand so MamaRay (or friends of MamaRay) if you are on please don't feel any pressure to post just know we are thinking of you.
-
WildT- Laundry is one of my least favorite chores. I did 6 loads myself today. Wanted to make sure I have clean underwear if the power goes out from the storms.
There were 2 Tornados here in Oregon today. Lots of damage. Saturday (today) is going to be even worse. Today about 800 homes lost power in the Portland metro area, and they say that that number will be far greater later today when the next storm hits.
Shep - The breeder is going to post a video of the puppies once they are about 4 weeks. I should be able to get a better idea of their personalities, since I can't see them in person until I actually go to get my baby boy.
Funny Cat fishing pic.
Does anyone have any contact info for Wenchie?
Smaarty - I hope your cold is getting better.
Feline - Waving Hi too you.
-
mammaray and I keep in phone texting contact. She is hanging in there.
I think hole in one moved. I have her old address
Have a good Saturday gals
-
Junie, They keep their dire warnings up until I'm almost ready to go buy cheese and a can of tuna fish. We have a gas stove, but I think it may require electricity to work. The tornado was quite a surprise.
-
Thanks for that news of MamaRay Susan.
-
Well, everyone, I guess it's time to welcome me to the "Insomniac Club". Bad enough that I'm in the Stage IV club, now I'm in this club, too.
Yippee....
I'm on Xeloda, and one of the delightful SEs is NOT being able to sleep even tho this chemo also makes you hella fatigued. It's maddening. I take medical cannabis, and sometimes it helps, but a lot of the time it doesn't.
After about 3 nights of this madness, I'll finally sleep for maybe 5-7 hours, but on bad nights, I'm lucky to get 2-3. It sucks that your eyes are so heavy and sticky, and it's easy to keep them closed, but you just CAN'T seem to drift off. I've tried guided meditations, prayers, and sometimes I'll just put my ear buds in and listen to ocean sounds.
Will I EVER be able to sleep like a normal person again?
When they switch me over to Aromatase Inhibitors, I hear the insomnia is even worse. Oh gees, I can't wait.
Lita
